161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fork on: November 07, 2017, 10:28:12 PM
In the beginning or exactly when the whole "segwit" talk was introduced, I though it was great.
But in my mind was that it was only gonna be in the form of soft-forks to update the bitcoin network and make it a better, faster one.

But after I realized that it's gonna a hard-fork, I'm not as happy about it as I used to be. In fact, I'm seriously afraid about this one. Bitcoin Cash didn't make me change my mind, Bitcoin Gold is a funny thing BUT this one is not funny. I can see that a lot of miners and pools actually support this.

And since it's a hard fork and a new coin will be created just like BCH and BTG, there will be B2X. But the difference is that it's got some community and people supporting it. Which means that a lot of people might actually shift into it and dumping their bitcoins.

I don't really like this and will sell all my btc until everything is settled down and hopefully it just goes by as a big failure like every other hard fork ever.

So much confusion with this BTG.
Not good for crypto. I hope everything goes well.

They're no longer about BTG anymore. There's another hard fork coming in  about a week if you don't know.  Undecided
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Mining vs Buying on: November 07, 2017, 09:56:30 PM
It really depends on what you want to do. If you're simply looking for profitability, I'd say take the easy way.
Buying and investing and bitcoins would of course be much easier than mining. You just need to look for the right entry point and buy in and that's it. Wait for ((insert time from days to months here)) and then sell for a much higher  price.

Mining isn't that easy. Specially if it's ASIC miners. First of all, their price is ridiculous and you need to have a few of them in order to actually make good profits. But the problem is not just in buying the equipment but there's more work to be done.

Electricity. Unless you have either free or really cheap electricity, I don't recommend even thinking about it.
With current frequent rise in difficulty, it's no joke. It might eat up a lot of the money you make if you're in the wrong area.

Noise and heat. Now these monsters are noisy. And when I say noisy I mean, you can't put them in the same room you stay in as I guarantee you'd never get enough sleep. Did I mention temperature ? When they're large in number, they produce a lot of heat. So proper air circulation has to be applied.

It's totally up to you. But if you're the type of person who likes to try new stuff. Go for it.  If not and you were just checking to see if you'd make more money through it and that's your only point, don't even think about it.
163  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-05] China is developing its own digital currency on: November 06, 2017, 06:52:31 PM
What's up with all these governments trying to start up their own crypto currencies ?
First I heard about Russia, then China and even India as well.

Can't they get the idea that we're trying to get freedom in currency and not just trying to use a new form of payment ? That actually we're into crypto because it's decentralized and anonymous. That's actually why a lot of people were initially interested in bitcoins (not considering people who're in just for profits).

Creating crypto backed by governments is totally nothing new. They WILL have power and control over it and that's nothing related to cyprto. What would be the difference between their currencies and credit cards for example ? NOTHING.
You will still be tracked and still subject to THEIR monetary laws.

The thing is a lot of normal citizens who still gotten the chance to know about btc and crypto generally will surely trust these altcoins as they're issued by their beloved governments. -/meh.

Plus how will they have trade value, will other countries accept them ? Just so many questions which easily make me think that it won't happen.
164  Economy / Services / Re: Payment of Campaign in ETH tokens on: November 06, 2017, 05:51:06 PM
This means that you need to educate yourself about these ethereum tokens, what they are, how they behave and how they get their value.

Basically all these tokens which are held on the Ethereum smart contracts system are called ERC-20 tokens. These token are depolyed into the network and yes are sent and received as assets from your ethereum address.
But no they aren't a small fraction of ethereum and have nothing to do with ethereum.

Think about it this way. It's just creating a new altcoin but in a much easier way as the network is already there and people already have the wallets. The dev just needs to edit a few things like name, ticker and total supply and boom token created.

They earn their value like every other altcoin or token that exists through trading. These tokens are traded on exchanges (mainly etherdelta.com) and that's how they have a price. People buy --> price up. People dump --> price down.

Check this token for example : https://etherscan.io/token/0x9e77d5a1251b6f7d456722a6eac6d2d5980bd891

I hope you understood. If not you can ask questions.
165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i withdraw btc for cash on: November 06, 2017, 09:54:14 AM
Well I used to no longer deal with exchanges, services or whatever that sends direct money to my bank.
Why ? I just think it's too complicated for me and it shouldn't be that hard.

What I did was that I found a trader on localbitcoins that buys bitcoins for CASH in hand any time. That was an amazing solution for me. What I did next was that I got a little bit more social and started getting into local discussion and trading groups on whatsapp.

This made me meet way more traders who are willing to pay cash for btc and soon enough I got in touch with them.

So yeah I found one which had a much much better price per btc than the guys on localbitcoins.com and I deal with him and two others whenever I want to sell. So, I'd suggest you take a similar route to mine.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BTG mining? on: November 06, 2017, 09:49:43 AM
No mining Bitcoin Gold is not live yet. But it looks like it will be available soon !
The test net has been started yesterday and miners/pool operators are testing the waters right now on them.

You can surely join one of these testnet pools BUT keep in mind that all the coins that you mine in the test net have totally no value even after the main network and the official wallets are introduced. This is just a heads up in order to understand that you can't expect anything out of it.

Regarding how to start to mine, since BTG is equihash, you can use something like EWBF cuda zcash miner. Just point the pools and you should be fine. Look up the forum for the thread.

Anybody knows is there a deadline of Mainnet start? Any countdown timer or so on? I think it will be very profitable in the first hours after starting but I can't find when will it be happen

They haven't declared a final date or something for when the mainnet will go live.

It has wasted us many time.

You practically didn't waste anything since the coin is given away for free anyway.
167  Economy / Services / Re: NEED BOUNTY AND SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN MANAGER on: November 06, 2017, 09:29:24 AM
Hi.

I'm interested in managing your signature campaign (and possible the bounty campaign).

I've run 2 signatures campaigns and one bounty campaign until today.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2225498.0 (ended- I escrowed its funds which were 0.3925 btc )
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2345165.0 ( still running and I'm escrowing its funds as well)

The bounty I manage (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2217479.0).

If you're interested, go ahead and send me a pm with details so we can discuss more.

Regards.
168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Prices Still Firmly Above $7000, Without China on: November 04, 2017, 10:27:23 PM
Well I guess this trend is a bit outdated Cheesy
We're way beyond the discussions about China and its effect on bitcoins price and useless stuff thrown and said here and there.
You should've deduced that China just got left out of the game and no one else got affected except them from the time when the price crossed the $3000.

Now we're in the range of above $7000 (although I'm not sure whether this last long or not as I think a correction is expected and mandatory) which clearly says nothing literally nothing affects the price of bitcoins directly other than the people themselves.

Whales or whatever you'd like to call them won't be that effective except if they push in huge amounts of money. I'm talking billions.
We might actually a lot of credit to the hard forks that are happening (which are too successive to be honest - meh :/ ). But I'm not if that's the main reason though.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trezor wallet should I move to coinbase wallet? on: November 04, 2017, 09:23:38 PM
Well I can say you need to move it to an exchange that announces it's going to support it BUT
Is it actually worth it any more ?

If you took a look at Bitcoin Gold's price right now, it's about $125. Which means that if you had $1000 in bitcoins you'd get only $17 in Bitcoin Gold !  That's all before even the main network is gone live. The price will totally crash more once it goes live as everyone will start dumping their coins.

Note that Bitcoin Gold had some excitement about at as it's in Equihash and is mineable using Gpu cards so you can say it has some sort of community that supports it.

But what about B2X that's supposed to be coming in about 10 days, has absolutely no sort of attention/community and fails to declare itself properly to the public.

It's seriously not worth the hassle or even thinking or bothering yourself about it.
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Address Reuse - Does No One Care? on: November 04, 2017, 08:47:52 PM
So, is it just that these individuals do not care about the potential downside of reusing the same address to take donations or is it a non-issue for donations??

And what is the potential downside that you're talking about ? Businesses usually do that in order to make it easier for users and customers to track their deposits/withdrawals.

There's is totally no issue in reusing same addresses again. In fact, I've been using the same address that I first created once I got to know about bitcoins in 2015. It's even on my profile. I've used multiple ones yes but I mean I've been using it for more than 2 years. https://blockchain.info/address/1JUGNonNct8M4ysaT9DDmvzWz1971kHfov

When you have your coins in multiple addresses, your fees to send these coins together becomes high. Because the number of inputs increases significantly since you have a lot of inputs. Which means a bigger transaction therefore much higher fees.

The only reason you'd bother to use one-time addresses is that privacy really really matters to you and you won't be using your coins any time soon. But in case of daily use, it's useless.
171  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How safe are my bitcoin on blockchain.info? on: November 04, 2017, 08:31:37 PM
Using online web wallets like blockchain.info, coinbase, xapo or other equivalent services is not recommended.
Let's start by saying that, whatever number of bitcoins you have there, aren't practically yours. Those wallets have access to them just as you do. And the worst thing is that with most of them you don't get your private keys which means you can't add your address to other wallets.

And yes this means that any day they can just run away with all the funds in the addresses hosted on them and no one will be able to do anything.

Number two: If the website goes down or has issues, you're doomed. I remember back in 2015 when I got to know about bitcoins. I used blockchain.info as well. But I experienced a lot of issues asI couldn't login to my coins every now and then due to issues on the website itself.

Third and last: It gets pretty easier to hack through multiple methods. I'm not just talking about the possibility of installing key loggers secretly on your computer and basically getting the login info, I'm talking about phishing sites. The bad guys create a lot of websites which have "similar" looks and even domain names that are relatively close in order to trick you to input your login info.

In my opinion, the best option would be using something like electrum. You have your private keys, can create vanity-created addresses and basically do whatever you want with bitcoins any time as you don't have to worry about hosts/servers/websites.

How do we add an address to the dashboard in the website?

I could not find a document about it.

You don't. No online wallets have been published yet. But you can use the offline wallet that they put and mine to that address.
Once the network goes live, you can import the private keys to any wallet to spend your mined coins.

You can find all the info here : https://downloads.electroneum.com/
And for gpu mining use ccminer for nvidia cards (I don't know its equivalent for amd).

I personally think this is one the ICOs that will actually create something successful. Let's hope it does.
There is a lot of excitement and support for it, I expect its price to go up really high once it hits exchanges.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH falling on: November 02, 2017, 04:43:36 PM
because I'll be selling it for a lower price compared to when I get it. How long do you guys think this will keep going? How low will eth go?

Don't sell for a loss. Ethereum and zcash are one of the two coins that almost always have a stable price range. Whatever happens, they usually get back to that range.

It's just the hype of bitcoin's price going up every single day by no less than $300. People are selling all their altcoins to take part and benefit from this huge pump hoping that they'll catch the train they missed.

If it was a useless coin that will die, I could've told you to sell. But it's ether. It will go up eventually. Even more than what it used to be. Just wait until this btc nasa rockets prices stop, and slowly altcoins will go up.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to fork Zcash? on: November 02, 2017, 04:38:09 PM
I want to create a new coin based on Zcash.

Well if you have no clue where to start, then you probably shouldn't !
There's already tons and tons of shitcoins that have no dev team, no goals, nothing. Just a copy cat.

Please don't approach this. Or if you seriously want to start a useful currency, get a team.
Creating a copy with another name won't get you anywhere. Especially if you're not even a developer.

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU & Cloud Mining - a total and guaranteed loss? on: November 02, 2017, 04:32:32 PM
I couldn't agree more regarding cloud mining. This has been my opinion and advice always.
Cloud mining isn't and will never be profitable. It's just selling some good promises and words to customers with no base.

Once you make the payment and wait for a month or two, you realize that you made a very big and costly mistake. And of course they make you pay for long-terms upfront.
The main question is why do people believe these websites/services ? They can literally just disappear with all the funds they collected and no one will ever get his money back which actually happens a lot if you just look back. Like how do these customers guarantee that the company will keep its words ? There is nothing to force them to do so.

From cloud mining, the very best thing to happen is to earn your capital back because usually that doesn't happen.

But when you talked about gpu mining that what I didn't like because it's all based on wrong information.

Mining Rig
- GTX 1080 Ti
- cost: $1100 (GPU only)
- performance: 32 MH/s
- profit: $528/year
=> ROI: 2+ years

Considering the (high) chance of the GPU breaking after warranty, growing difficulty and energy cost, we can safely come to the conclusion that a GPU mining rig will never cover its own costs => ZERO profit.

Who in the world mines ethereum with 1080 ti cards ? That's not a good idea. Here is the proper numbers for one mining rig.

Mining Rig
- GTX 1070
- cost: $450 (GPU only) $3300 for the whole 6 cards mining rig.
- performance: 460 sol/s (zcash)
- profit: $3600/year
=> ROI: 10 to 11 months max. (even less if you sell at price spikes.)

So no, gpu mining is still profitable.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware SCAMMER, I losing bitcoins yesterday on: November 02, 2017, 04:09:43 PM
So i followed all steps including password changing. Finally , I log in the my wallet but my money sent from  my wallet to other
he inform me that i am log in to my account after mining, the system is a problem , i must deposit adding more 0.3 BTC for mining.
but  I am not adding deposit, because i think that he is a scammer.

Why did you send money that easily to someone who just told you some non-sense. You made it so easy for him !
Why didn't you make your own research ? There is no such thing as you have to fund your wallet and hooray magically it will double in the next 48 hours.

Why didn't you ask yourself how this is possible or why isn't everyone doing this if it's so easy to earn bitcoins ?

Ant miners are devices that are bought and setup with the blockchain to mine and you get rewards from the device. There's literally no deposits involved.

It's totally your fault. You just believed a very clear scam that no one ever falls into. Next time, read and understand more before sending any money anywhere.

***He is Nicholas Fisher, working at blockchain mining stream , live in Leawood, Kansas USA. His facebook is https://www.facebook.com/nicholas.fisher897
i lost money about 2000 $(0.29 BTC) from his.

*** Today He will be to do me trust him, he give passport to me, i have check ---- it fake...

Yeah don't worry his name, location and passport will all be fake. He is a scammer.
No he doesn't work at whatever he told you "blockchain mining stream" because no such thing even exists.

I should be inform where ?? or action fraud  , i losing my money but i don't another one to got scam by him

I guess you should report it to local police but there is a change of 0.1% that you'll ever get your money back.
Just learn from what happened not to trust anyone that easily and to understand more before getting into something.
Everybody learns but you took the hard way.
