I just found 4new and its a interesting project, how does staking work basically just hold in your ETH wallet and how do you choose between mining or the grid just wondering maybe I missed it

This is a much needed miner for AMD's as ETH profitability has become really marginal...
Lyra2z difficulty increased, it's not as profitable to mine Lyra2z as it was a month ago. I assume some ETH miners have already migrated from Ethash to Lyra2z. You're late to the party Also 35-40+mhs FPGA on lyra2z now Yes, this is bad. Ya things need to change or mining is going to be all centralized I don't care what anyone says the price and lack of FPGA's make them even more centralized than asic not to mention the lack of dev's writing miners therefor charging 4-5% dev fee will be the norm. Thankfully monero is working on asic and fpga resistant for there next fork

try to use hive OS
i use it and there is no problem .. it very stable and very easy .. only burn it on 16gb flash memory
I love hiveos and I tried every mining os out there pimp, smos, ethos, miningstat and I can't remember the rest I got sick of windows no matter what I did somehow windows would sneak a update in somehow its crazy that they stripped the users of not wanting updates or the bullshit bloatware

Announcing MyEtherWallet v3.24.00: Difficulty Bomb&Updating blockchain
Due to the complexity of the Bomb and the increased risk of hacking, we pushed a rather drastic update that implements a number of changes and improvements, including enhancement of efficiency and scalability of the blockchain, acceleration of transaction speed, and additional security in the form new formats private keys which will help protect users against hacking. If you are using private key or UTC, then you need to go into the wallet and update manually, otherwise they risk being unprotected.
How do i update my Ethereum wallet?
1. Go to our website MyEtherWallet.com 2. Unlock your wallet using your Keystore File (UTC / JSON) or simply use your private key. 3. Click Unlock and wait for the update.
Please note that you need to manually update your wallet, failure to do so may result in funds being lost.
We are taking these measures to protect both you and our network from phishing and malicious attacks.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding! MyEtherWallet Security Team.
If you use other methods, then ignore this message. Post this shit somewhere else scammer or maybe try and get a job

I agree with OP I'm bored as hell mining I use to check out the ann's on a regular basis now it seems its either a ico or cut and copy coin where are the dev's that use to write new algo's is it now dead

Is there anyway to run different clocks on the r9 cards I have one rig with mixed amd r9 cards and they need different clocks I know for rx cards you can
|
|
|
At first I didn't like the new Hiveos but after playing with it for a little I'm loving it I have one rig that's running 3 different miners claymore eth, tdxminer, and cpuminer-opt the reason I have 570/560 on this one rig and tdxminer doesn't support rx560 also this rig has been running solid for a week now with zero downtime no crashes or restarts
|
|
|
Basically if you see a thread with a new miner and 30 new accounts just posted saying "good job dev" or some crap like this it means it's a scam miner STAY AWAY
|
|
|
Ya they are to scared to try anything new because its called follow the leader and zcash is their leader but its ok hopefully ETH will implement progpow which they are talking seriously about and monero is going to not only keep asic off their chain but fpga's, it's crazy that out of all these coins only a few aren't copies at the core and a few are standing up to bitmain

https://bitsonline.com/ether-2-eth-block-reward/Devs agreed on 2 ethers per block reward instead of 3 as it is now. This will happen with the coming fork in October together with a delay of the difficulty bomb by a year. Last November happened something similar, if I recall correctly. Then the reduced time for a block compensated the miners, so we got the same profit at the end. I hope it will be the same situation this October, or else the mining will end for those with expensive electricity. I watched some of the dev meeting and they mentioned giving a grant to implement progpow to render asic useless which hopefully will happen than all the other dagger coins will follow, the monero devs are working on a new fork that not only keeps asic from mining but fpga's I think this is awesome and will screw bitmain now only if zcash would do something but the way zooko talks he don't give a shit about gpu miners who made him rich
|
|
|
This is exactly why asics turn mining into centralization, greed is killing mining for small and home miners even when the big pump happened and everyone in their brother starting gpu mining the difficulty didn't rise compared to what asic are doing
|
|
|
It's probably only going to get worse when all these asics come on line that haven't shipped yet so everyone who supported bitmain and made them a few more mill hope you like your asic

UPDATE.
1. Regarding last payout in LTC/BTC, few settings went off for LTC/BTC coin config, those are corrected now, and you will get your payment in next payout window. Sorry for inconvieniece
Hi pinpins is LTC segwit address that start with M supported just wanted to make sure before I continue mining with it, I also have AMD miners would it be possible for you to add cryptonightv7 or heavy to give AMD miners more profitable ports to choose from or do you suggest a particular algo I know your geared more towards Nvidia but it would be great if I can send all my miners to one pool Thank You

The brand expansion sounds great and all.
What about ASIC Resistance?
The Discord ASIC Resistance Channel is spammed to a point of making it inconvenient for a developer to respond to my questions. I ask for an update and if they have used PROG Proof of Work on a Test Net but NO response; NO update; nothing!
I honestly don't want to interrupt developers and let them do their job rather than spend their time responding to guys like myself who's asking for an update regarding their work on ASIC Resistance. If a developer wanted to even find my question to them about ASIC Resistance, they would have to comb through at least one hundred posts in the ASIC Resistance forum on Discord. That takes valuable time away from developers to actually work on ASIC Resistance.
Bottom Line: The ASIC Resistance forum on Discord is full of spam from Pro ASIC and Anti ASIC rhetoric that allows no convenient communication with developers in a meaningful and profitable way for all of those involved in the discussion.
MedaR,
It certainly would be helpful if you could find out some kind of update for us, please. It would be nice if you could keep us updated on ASIC Resistance WHILE allowing developers to do their work on ASIC Resistance; if they are actually doing any work in that regard.
Is there a team devoted solely to development on ASIC Resistance? If so, where are they at this point? If no team appointed, then why not?
Can you please ask the creator of the Discord server for ZEN to create a forum ONLY FOR CONFIRMED DEVELOPERS? This way they can post updates on ASIC Resistance WHILE BLOCKING others who are not developers from spamming the forum.
Updates PLEASE...
If you piece together the clues from the official announcement and the talk on the ASIC Resistance discord channel, you will know that the devs and moderators have weighed in on this subject. Here's what I have gleaned... - Switching parameters on Equihash will only slow down ASIC adoption. Innosilicon indicated that they could adapt to new parameters like BTG had... could be done relatively quickly... my best guess is that this would be in the fall of 2018 as the ZEN team only wants to do major hardfork activities once a quarter
- Switching to a new POW algorithm will take a lot of work, and nothing public has been mentioned about this. This would take many months of preparation... my best guess would be 2019 before it could happen
- There is currently no DEV team working on "ASIC resistance"... my best guess is because the issue is not settled
- IF ZEC did do something to slow down ASIC adoption, or implement a new POW algorithm then it would be much easier for the ZEN team to port in that codebase. One can see a lot of wisdom here, where the ZEN developers can focus on features and let the ZEC team come up with a algorithm change... the risk here is that ZEC decides to do nothing and my best guess would be that this would also be 2019
So... at best something could be done in the Fall of 2018. The middle road is to do their own POW which would be 2019. The best scenario for ZEN is that ZEC saves the day... again in 2019. Worst case is that nothing changes, and the ZEN team realizes that ASIC resistance is futile, and embraces the benefits that ASICs bring to your algorithm like better security against 51% attacks. I just seen this post on zen forum and seems promising https://forum.zencash.com/t/is-144-5-fork-going-to-happen-in-the-near-future/2143/4

Mining is only dieing for the ppl who thought they could jump on board and strike it rich when BTC hit 20k for the rest of us who are here to support crypto and have seen the same thing happen when scrypt asics came out mining is not dieing just a little closet cleaning for a the greedy bastards who only care about Fiat, and everyone who's complaining about profits who ran out and lined bitmains pocket this is what happens you will never make money on a asics coin why? Because you have to constantly upgrade to the newest miner as difficulty goes up and up
Not true about asics. We have hit the limit with Moore's law and improvement in hardware has been very slow. S9 was out two years ago and we have not gotten a better miner yet from bitmain. Chips can't get any smaller with current tech. Yes agreed with BTC asics that's why they moved on to crush every other blockchain because they are greedy bastards, dash miners and sia are in the negatives now what im saying is the same is going to happen to zec and eth asics drive the difficulty up. Also it's known and has been admitted by bitmain that they have kill switches on all the asics they sell how decentralized is that it wouldn't surprise me if they are somehow skimming a few hashes from everyone's miners

I am mining ETH on nanopool
Change to ethermine. I like nanopool because it shows me how much time is left until the payout is made. And ethermine has a lot of stale shares. I actually like MPH and usually am spot on with profits
