Hiveon. №1 OS for mining

so...I usually hate mining os because , well, they are garbage.  So Hiveos, is it different ?  Well so far, rig is offline - still using all its electricity - but its offline and doesnt show up on the pool.

edit:  So once up and running, and *set*, works well.  I guess people like the remote monitoring, etc.  Its a nice flashy interface, have to admit very well done.  Would I install HIVEos over a brand new ubuntu install ?  Probably not.  But it is simple.  All in all, I hope they make a lot of money - turn key solutions for mining should come with some big recurring fees IMO.  The biggest issue I think would be if you set your GPUs on Win10, then migrate to hive.  Your OC / undervolt doesnt work the same under linux and your bios flash may have unintended consequences.  ANd if you have lets say 12 gpus, and 1 has a problem it could bring the whole rig down.  Jolly good show all in all, I like that they use wolfs mod so you can play around with that no problem.

New HiveOS is a disaster. I have 18 NVDIA rigs and i always getting error. OC is a big problem on the new HiveOS. the old HiveOS was perfect.
After migration to new HiveOS, most of my rigs gives n/a hashrate most of GPU.

How does Operating System work with Nvidia 10x series? Also how frequent does it need to me maintained as in restarted if there are any hangups while mining?

None, handles it just fine. Any errors are either user errors or hardware faults (usually risers).

my rig is always offline, but it works.  just one rig, shouldnt have to pay.

+HIVEOS fucks up my router, Ive lost network twice now.  Not sure if it makes my switch explode or if its worse.  G-A-R-B-A-G-E

edit: if anybody wonders why, its the h110 btc mobo which is also garbage, and combined with ubuntu sends out pause gibberish which goes right through the switch and freezes hell over.  easy solution is to isolate the rig behind another switch or a managed one that blocks that problem

one of my gpu or riser has problem but i can not find which one is it. its gpu2 crash within 5 mins after miner starts. i  run gpu-fans-find 2 command but no gpu fans stopped. i think its bugged on nvidia gpus.
i unplug the 3rd pcie slot but it still continue gpu2 crashs. i disabled it from claymore params.
any idea to find that gpu?

That's not HiveOS problem but more likely miner problem who didn't close TCP connexion properly. I have rigs with h110 btc + hiveOS and no problem at all even using CPL. Check the quality of your router.

To find GPU on hiveOS is quiet simple in fact.

GPU0 is always first "big" PCIE
GPU1 is the second "big" PCIE or first smalll PCIE (if you have only one "big" PCIE)
GPU2 second small PCIE...

To find GPU on hiveOS is quiet simple in fact.

GPU2 second small PCIE...

It is not simple at all if you have an HP DL580 G7 with the optional PCIe board. This system has 12 PCIe slots. Two big ones on the main board and four big ones on the optional board. If I use the two big ones on the main board then GPU0 is the second big one. That is unless the small PCIe is used then GPU0 moves to that one. It is very confusing. I have one dead GPU on this system and I cannot tell which one it is.

I don't have hiveOS, but you shouldn't be using iGPU, it cause lot of troubles but mainly for Windows.

At first I didn't like the new Hiveos but after playing with it for a little I'm loving it I have one rig that's running 3 different miners claymore eth, tdxminer, and cpuminer-opt the reason I have 570/560 on this one rig and tdxminer doesn't support rx560 also this rig has been running solid for a week now with zero downtime no crashes or restarts
