161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: October 16, 2017, 12:58:37 PM
Yes, I've used Bitcoin to buy drugs off of the original Silk Road and a number of other sites - it worked, but I don't recommend it.

I lost a few years of my life to a heroin addiction and I'm just now hitting 1.5 years sober at 35 years old.

At the end of my addiction, I tried to sell 20 bitcoins for $80. They were worth about $4 a piece at the time. Got scammed and now those coins are worth 100K. Not my proudest moment, but I'm working hard to turn things around these days and use crypto for investing in my wife and I's future.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CREATE NEW [Crypto-Currency] on: October 13, 2017, 07:07:26 PM
There are token creation services that will let you create your own Ethereum based token. Minereum comes to mind as an example.

In that respect, it's become easier and easier for people to create their own coins/tokens. Probably too easy if you look at the announcements forum. It's inundated with crap coins.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How and where to keep Bitcoins to get free Bitcoin Gold? on: October 13, 2017, 02:54:46 PM
Someone wrote a good write up on it - it was just one page back in this same forum.

You can view the information here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2237268.0

It's well written and pretty straight forward.
164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your scammed experience? on: October 12, 2017, 06:44:11 PM
There's plenty of good advice here, but my best piece of advice is if it's too good to be true - it probably is.

Other than that, as other's have mentioned - use escrow, only deal with established/trusted members, etc.

I got scammed out of 20 Btc once early in my crypto years because I was too eager too jump the gun. Granted, they were only worth $4 a piece at that point, but it still stings to this day.
165  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Unlimited 4g LTE/Hotspot/VPN phone, no bill! on: October 12, 2017, 03:07:06 PM
Sadly, it appears the gravy train on this exploit has run it's course.

I didn't get my phone from Chuck, but I was using the DDR 'hack' and my phone stopped working two days ago. It's unfortunate as I only had it for a few months, but oh, well.

I PM'd someone on the XDA forums with more knowledge than I about this exploit, but I've yet to hear back.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]Artemine- First Self Mining Smart Contract 2.0 - ICO LIVE - 400% BONUS on: October 12, 2017, 01:42:49 PM
60 years is a looong long time..
I had to convert my mne to arte and have to wait that long time.
Shame.

I think the saving grace - if this ever pans out - is that you will be able to sell Artemine genesis addresses.

So, if you get impatient waiting for the coin to mine itself, you could always put your genesis account on the market place.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I do this? How? on: October 11, 2017, 07:34:54 PM
I don't know, man. I like your drive and the idea to an extent, but it sounds like you're trying to re-invent the wheel.

There's already crypto (and ICO's) - and plenty of them and there's already plenty of coffee houses.

I understand that you need funding, but I don't think an ICO is going to get you where you want to be. I just don't see that much interest in a crypto specifically for a coffee house in Boston.

Why not just try to raise the capital in a more traditional way and then accept crypto as payment?

I could see a potential for a straight up coffee coin or token - some way to pay fair trade prices to impoverished farmers and cut out that middle-man. Maybe if you go with something along those lines you could raise the funds and then open the coffee house as a sort of headquarters? I don't know, just brainstorming. Best of luck to you, though!

There's already a website that monitors new airdrops and keeps people up-to-date:

https://airdropalert.com/

What does your site offer that makes it a better choice. Don't mean to be rude, just curious.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which of the recent airdrops actually paid you out? on: October 11, 2017, 04:35:52 PM
I've been pretty lucky with the airdrops - although there's been quite the flurry of them recently and most of those haven't panned out.

I got into Minereum, Kekcoin, DeepOnion, eBTC - those are just a few off the top of my head.

Minereum did well at first, although it's been on the downswing for awhile now, Kekcoin seems to stay between .05 and .08 cents, eBtc has been all over the place, and DeepOnion seems to hold pretty consistently between $0.75-$1.00

That being said, the airdrop trend seems to be a free for all now after eBtc shot up briefly. I don't expect the majority of them to pan out, but I'm still signing up. I've earned a few Btc's in the process.

Wow, I'm very impressed by the website design - I hope the Dev team adopts it.

Any timeframe on when the product will be completely finished?

Your hardwork is very much appreciated - sent a donation of 10 Onions.
171  Other / Meta / Re: How to get stolen bitcointalk account back? on: October 11, 2017, 12:26:39 PM
My friend got his bitcointalk account stolen yesterday.
Is there any way he can get it back? Huh

The previous poster is correct about how to possibly recover a hacked account.

You can read more about the process in this thread here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Hope that helps your friend recover his account!
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you sell altcoins before the fork? on: October 11, 2017, 02:04:27 AM
I took the question to mean should they sell altcoins and put in in Bitcoin before the fork.

If that's the question, then I'm wondering the same thing. Seems like Bitcoin Cash was free money if you had any Bitcoin sitting around.

I plan on keeping the alts I really believe in  (DeepOnion) but selling some I keep floating around and loading up on Bitcoin before the fork. I have some XRP I have that I'll probably flip into Btc and then back to XRP after the fork. Just my two cents.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie on Etherdelta on: October 10, 2017, 04:37:40 PM
As you can probably tell I'm a newb and recently got introduced to crypto. I've been exploring wallets etc etc and more recently moved onto Etherdelta to trade some lesser known tokens which I have accumulated. I have been able to grasp the site etc after so tinkering and have come to a conclusion that it is extremely slow and wanted to ask if it was just me experiencing this?

When I say slow I mean terribly slow, like it is back to the early 2000's when DSL fir was introduced. It is often resulting in transactions failing but still taking gas from my wallet.

Just thought I'd post and see if anybody else had experienced this?

Yes, it's extremely allow for me - I've noticed it won't even load when I try to use the Edge browser. I have to use Chrome or Firefox.

That seems to help the situation slightly. Still, I find myself just holding onto those tokens hoping they get listed elsewhere. I've heard too many nightmares stories.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I am not receiving any Airdrop tokens into myetherwallet account?? on: October 06, 2017, 07:17:46 PM
Whenever I apply for some Airdrop tokens/ coins, I am not receiving any airdrop into my myetherwallet account. Some one please tell me the reason why I am not getting any tokens/ coins?

Pay attention to the token address, the symbol, and the decimal places. More than likely, you'll need to add it since it's a custom token. It won't just show up on it's own.

Check this tutorial for further instructions:
https://blockchaindk.com/2017/02/12/add-custom-token-myetherwallet/

Hope that helps!
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 13 of 40 Rounds on: October 06, 2017, 02:09:14 PM
Well this is disappointing. I got blacklisted for an unknown reason. I've been on board sense the begining. The frustrating part is I don't know why. I've put in to have my case reviewed. The thread regarding bannings says to join the slack channel. But that has been put on hold. Anyone know of a way to check your review status without it?

I looked through your last posts as well and if I had to venture a guess - it's because of low quality posting. Can't say for sure, but it doesn't look like your recent posts are really adding anything helpful to the threads or discussions.

I'd try to make more unique and insightful/helpful posts going forward and see if that makes a difference.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 13 of 40 Rounds on: October 06, 2017, 01:32:12 PM
I tried to re-apply but what do you know? I'm blacklisted. That escalated quickly  lol

Well, as much as I want to be part of this community I could only wish you guys all the best. It seems that DeepOnion has slammed its door on me.  T_T

I have also been denied my application, since I "did not meet requirements" or whatever, even though I did meet them, at least according to the application rules published on your website (perhaps you should refine your written rules to match your non written rules, would save time to everyone). So I won't insist for weeks and weeks, like others seem very willing to do, but as this point I won't either buy Onions on Novaexchange as I would have done if I had been admitted in your signature campaign. Lost my motivation.

No offense, dude, but I looked back at your posts and they're not very helpful - try posting more quality commentary and you might have a better shot.
177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid fees when buying coins on: October 05, 2017, 07:21:51 PM
I just came across this other thread that mentions how to avoid Coinbase fees. Could be handy to lower or eliminate the fees that you're talking about.

178  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: newbie question regarding blockchain on: October 05, 2017, 06:20:36 PM
Hello everyone!
Can someone please explain me what does it mean Block-chain?
I saw you tube video and searched online but still didn't understand
when people say that blockchain is the future how is it the future? is it regarding transfer money ( coins ) or what?
and when people say that the fir has blockchain technology what does it mean?

sorry for the newbie questions but I am still dont understand what does it mean when people say that firm for example have a block chain technology
that its revolution in the world
Thank you!

This is my favorite YouTube video on the subject:
https://youtu.be/bBC-nXj3Ng4

I think it does a good job breaking it down without being overly technical.

Basically, you can think of it as a de-centralized public accounting ledger.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract - ARTEMINE ICO NOW LIVE on: October 05, 2017, 01:50:01 PM

Yes, according to the DEV, it was send to that address. You can see the TX ID here:

https://etherscan.io/tx/0xa26c4d5ba00e5f4d34c0bc1967daa88fa59747ab4001b0c9e1f8416fa624f9da

That has a bit more information than the link you posted.

Hope that helps!

Yup, same problem here.

I got to the claim page and then got an error. No idea if I actually signed up or not.
