241  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: NEW - CONFUSED ABOUT LINKING BITCOIN TO MY BANK on: September 05, 2017, 12:25:59 PM
Ok - at least I am on track!  I did create a Coinbase acct, and linked it successfully to my checking account.
As trial, I "purchased" small amount of Bitcoin through Coinbase (using my checking acct).  It says the [Suspicious link removed]ives in 8 days.
So if I have someone transfer USD into my Bitcoin account, am I able to immediately transfer that amount to my checking?  Or is there a delay on that???

My experience with Coinbase has been that the selling of Btc to USD is immediate, but then it can take up to a week for the funds to appear in my checking account when I send them there.

At least it tells me it can take that long. With USAA, my funds usually appear the next day. That probably depends on your bank to some extent.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Begginer here. Need a bit of help on: September 04, 2017, 06:53:02 PM
Hello!

I am a bit of noob. And I just started early Tongue. I already made exchange account on Kraken, bought some small ammount of BTC coins and ETH coins. Now where to put them? My friend speaks of ICOs but there is just too much of them. So I thought I'd start on my own a bit. Which one is good ICO for beginner?

Thanks..!  Cheesy Grin

Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I'd hodl (forum joke) onto those coins for the moment or diversify your holdings into pre-existing coins rather than speculating on ICO's.

Despite what the media may think, this isn't a bubble or get rich quick scheme. Many more coins fail than survive.

If you're looking to pick up a good altcoin for cheap - I'd head over to Novaexchange and pick up some Deep Onion (as you can see by my signature, I'm quite biased). Heck, now's a good day to pick up just about any altcoin for cheap. The previous poster hit the nail on the head, though - research, research, and then do some more research.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beginner asks on: September 04, 2017, 03:59:28 PM
How often do you take notice of a coin that offers a free airdrop?  I'm not in a position to sink much fiat into a coin, but if I can start out supporting a new altcoin and turn it into something, I will be later.  Not asking for any specific plugs, just your opinion generically related to altcoins.

Not a problem, it's a good question. Generally, if there's an airdrop going on, I'll take a look at the whitepaper and gauge the community interest based on how much discussion the thread is generating. To be completely honest, if it's an easy enough sign up and appears to be legit, I'll give it a shot. That being said, more fail than succeed.

The airdrops and signature campaigns are a good reason to actually contribute and be helpful on the forum as well. For most of them, you have to have a certain level rank to be included.

Deep Onion, that I mentioned earlier, is a great example of this. This coin is going places, but to participate, you have to have registered your account before a certain date and be at the level of member. You also need to actively contribute on this forum and to make useful posts.

At any rate, the more time you spend here, the better you'll get at figuring out what looks legit and worth your time. Hope that helps.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you really loved an altcoin? on: September 04, 2017, 02:45:20 PM
after having been holding Doges, Moneros and Triangles and Ethereum, I think I found a new girlfriend ahah

DeepOnion is kinda the same thing as bitcoin, but over Tor network. Pretty neat. And every staking wallet add a hidden node to Tor, so, you basically help to strengthen DeepOnion. It just started, but besides being a coin it has the potential to shut down (partially) the government's surveillance ^^

You and me both. After jumping back into the crypto scene around April I got involved in Minereum. I still think that coin has some potential but the Dev seems to be a recluse and rarely communicates.

Deep Onion, though, has me hooked. Great and communicative Devs and an awesome community that is growing up around it. Tie that in with 90% of the coins being given out for free and I'm in it for the long haul.

It's a bit down (along with everything else at the moment) so it's a great time to pick some up on the cheap.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beginner asks on: September 04, 2017, 01:29:56 PM
Hello to all,

This beginner has couple of questions.

Investing to altcoins, let’s say that I have 0,2 BTC / month to invest. How many different coins should I buy or should I bet all to one horse? Now I am putting 1/3 in three different coins. How many coins is ideal or good to have?

Does the one day exchange work with crypto or is it profitable at all? I mean like I buy at the morning and sell at the evening?

ICO, should ICO invest be more close to 1, 10 or 50 BTC total, or what would you invest if the project would look something good to invest in long term?

Thanks!

As to your first question, there's no straightforward answer. As to my personal opinion - diversity is generally better for investing. That being said, there's no ideal number of coins to have. You need to research the ones that are out there and pick a few that you think are worthwhile. If I may put a plug in, I think a relatively new one you should get in early to is Deep Onion (Yes, I'm definitely biased as you can see by my signature)

To your second question, you can certainly make money day trading. It's a risky business though, and you should definitely be prepared to lose money unless you really know what you're doing. I know my limitations and I tend to hold instead of trying to turn a quick trade profit.

I'm not sure I understand your third question to be honest with you. If you think it's a worthwhile project, then invest what you can afford. If you become an active member of this forum, you'll also find opportunities to take part in airdrops or signature campaigns for free. This is another good way to diversify your portfolio.

I hope that helps.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KEK] Kekcoin | PoS | MemeTech | Tipbot on: September 04, 2017, 01:03:11 PM
ANNOUNCEMENT

We have updated the kekcoin wallet.

There should now be less false positives appearing in a virus scan of the wallet. We recommend that you update your Kekcoin wallets as soon as possible. Please continue to take any security steps you feel are necessary (i.e. run the wallet on a VM that shares no folders with your machine).

Color me confused, but I downloaded the update but it still looks like version 1.0.0.0-g when I check the About Kekcoin part of the wallet. Am I missing something?

Also, maybe I'm just a little paranoid, but why isn't there a notice about the new wallet on the official website?
247  Economy / Economics / Re: Fidelity called Bitcoin a "bubble" on: September 01, 2017, 01:59:59 PM
It's a tough call. Is the price a bit high at the moment.. probably. Will there be some pull back ...definitely.

I don't think well established financial institutions or analyst really grasp the change that we're witnessing right now, though. I firmly believe that finance as we know it is headed to the blockchain.

I'd be shocked if we see BTC at $2000 or even $3000 again for that matter. Maybe it'll go down to those levels, but in a year the price will probably still be going up and people will still be calling it a bubble. Those people are missing the train, IMHO.
248  Economy / Goods / Re: Unlimited 4G LTE Hotspot Devices on: September 01, 2017, 01:22:51 PM
You all are forewarned.
DO NOT buy any of these unlimited devices unless its from me or GoodLuckChuck (I can vouch for him, he's legit as I am).
Or unless you can verify...well really anything that the seller is saying.

Now, you can take heed, or ignore my warnings.

I wholeheartedly agree. Although I haven't purchased from either Madrinos or GoodLuckChuck, I have sent a few PM's back and forth.

I made the mistake of buying the 'method' from another member here who didn't really know what he was doing. I spent more getting it to work than if I'd just have bought off of one of these two sellers.

I did finally get a phone working, though, and I can say it's well worth the asking price that they're offering them at.

Hope you don't mind me posting in your thread and best of luck on your sales!

I just received the very first DeepOnion weekly newsletter!
It is great. Thanks for this, it is great to have such news and to have some information about the next DeepSend feature Wink

Awesome. Could you share the link to get this newletter as well?

I guess it will ease staying up to date....

the current thread is so active that I have hard time to keep up LOL!

I'm pretty sure you just need to register on the official forums at www.deeponion.org to get the newsletter. You can view it here:

Iranus makes some good points.

Altcoins definitely can have a bigger upswing percentage wise - but the downside can be just as bad.

I like the 50/50 option that a poster mentioned above - it gives you a bit of a hedge.

Also, you'd be surprised how well you can build up your cache of altcoins for free just by becoming a contributing member of this board. Signature campaigns and airdrops are a great way to get in early and for free.
251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where i can learn about blockchain network? on: August 31, 2017, 01:27:22 PM
hello master member

where i can find and learn about blockchain technology, peer to peer network, and other related with cryptocurrency?
many people like me dont understand about crypto and need some help to explain the blockchain network

I think this youtube video is a pretty good place to start: https://youtu.be/bBC-nXj3Ng4

It does a good job of breaking the technical side down in an easy to understand format.

Other than YouTube, just hanging out on this forum and reading through the posts is a great resource.

Individual Privacy. Collective Opportunity. #DeepOnionX

Personally, I'm fond of this one. It does a good job of getting the privacy point across as well as the great community that is building up around this project.

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DeepOnions Profitability Calculator on: August 29, 2017, 02:05:48 PM
Damit i want to take part at the DeepOnion Airdrops!!
But i have not enough posts on Bitcointalk. I think these restrictions to post XY times a week or so is just crap. The forum is full of spammers and most comment posts are just like " I am in" or "thats very interesting". who gives a fxxk of those comments. Thats why i was silent reader but now i will start texting cause of bountys >_<

I get where you're coming from, but at least you registered your bitcointalk account before the cutoff. If you start building your account up, you should be able to join well before we hit round 40 and the airdrop ends.

Also, the Deep Onion guys are getting stricter and stricter about the requirements - no burst posting, posting in off topic, etc. Patience and diligence will be rewarded.
255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin price on: August 29, 2017, 01:35:01 PM
The actual bitcoin price is too expensive.I think this is not the real price if you buy now you will lose.My advice is to buy when is low and sell when is high. Now the price is too high, actual price is high because of bitcoin cash, the real price is $1800-2000 or lower.

I'm not sure I agree with that assessment. BTC is around $4500 at the moment. Pullbacks are to be expected, but I'll be shocked if we ever see $2000 or lower again at this point. Heck, I'd be surprised if we see $3000 again.

To the OP's original question, though, it's a matter of perspective. Maybe it's slightly overvalued now, but it's cheap compared to what it will be this time next year or going forward in the future, IMHO.

That being said, you might find that investing in an altcoin will give you better gains if you catch one that's just starting off. As you can see by my signature, I'm biased, but I think Deep Onion is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Airdrop? on: August 29, 2017, 01:23:51 PM
Can someone explain me the term of airdop in crypto community?
Is there any topic with the terms we use here on forum?

I don't know of a particular thread with the terms, but the search function is pretty useful.

As the user above mentioned, though, basically it's where the coins are given away for free as opposed to an ICO where you have to buy the coins. Besides Deep Onion, you can find examples in Minereum and Timereum.

Airdrops generally seem to be met with more support and less skepticism than ICO's. At least, that's the trend I see on these boards.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KEK] Kekcoin | PoS | MemeTech | Tipbot on: August 29, 2017, 01:08:45 PM
Did difficulty changed a loat in a last days? Haven't staked one coin since last 2 days...

I personally haven't noticed anything. I've been staking 5 to 10 coins a day for the past week or two at this point.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] YOURCHAIN - Let's Make RChain YOURS Again! on: August 29, 2017, 12:50:10 PM
Hi all, i would to sell 100000 token for ETH or BTC.
PM me if someone is interested.

Thanks

You should try posting that in the trading thread over here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2071309.0

That being said, check your PM's.
259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: paypal chargeback questions and and would this prevent it? on: August 28, 2017, 04:49:39 PM
Years ago, I had a situation where I believe someone paid me on an eBay purchase with carded funds or a stolen account. I was completely unaware, but PayPal froze my account until I sent in a ton of personal information to verify identity.

Even if you never intend to pay the first balance back, don't be surprised if the second account gets frozen.
260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ready to buy? on: August 28, 2017, 04:43:51 PM
Next, use the Coinbase exchange or some other well known trusted exchange to hold 1 bit coin for day to day use or with a wallet on my smart phone.   If I transfer this to another user, I can then move another bitcoin from my TREZOR wallet to Coinbase.

I'm curious about your reasoning for using Coinbase to hold bitcoins. I store my bitcoins for spending in an Airbitz wallet on my phone.

Yeah, I'm not so high on Coinbase either.

Also, is there a reason you'd do 1 BTC increments at a time? Granted, the more transfers you do, the more fees you'll incur, but you might consider 0.50 or even 0.25 at a time.
