61  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What exchanges are trustworthy? on: January 11, 2018, 09:56:56 PM
I mostly deal with Cryptopia and I've had good luck with that one. I'll also use Livecoin or Kucoin occasionally. It is important to remember they're just exchanges though - not a good place to store coins longterm.
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to join signature campaigns? on: January 11, 2018, 01:12:45 PM
Each airdrop is a little different, some require junior membership - like my sig, DeepOnion - some require higher. It really just depends on which coin/token you're interested in.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract on: January 08, 2018, 03:36:39 PM
For the life of me, I can't figure out why this coin is pumping. I'm a genesis holder, so I'm happy about it, but I'm wondering if it's a pump and dump or if there's someone out there with inside knowledge that knows something we don't know. I should probably just sell what's accumulated and take the money, but I'll hodl a little longer and see what happens.
64  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investing for profit alone or also mission? on: January 08, 2018, 02:09:12 PM
If it's short term, I might just look at the profit aspect - but long term, the mission of the company definitely comes into play. For instance, I like XRP as a profit opportunity, but don't care for the mission of the company and would rather put my long term holdings elsewhere - Electroneum, DeepOnion, etc.
65  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone familiar with GDAX's fees? I have a question... on: January 04, 2018, 08:01:56 PM
1) I'm pretty sure you can't directly - you have to fund coinbase with the credit card and then transfer to GDAX. The coinbase fees for a credit card are pretty high, about 4% I think.
2) I believe it's instant to coinbase and then you could transfer to GDAX instantly, so it would be faster
3) See the above, but for coinbase I believe it's at least 4% or 3.99% to be exact
4) I haven't incurred a fee - it seems to treat it as a normal transaction, not a cash advance, but your mileage may vary on this.

Hope that helps!
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs. Regulators: on: January 04, 2018, 01:41:03 PM
I think the first shots were fired this past year - allowing futures trading. I think that's the beginning of the attempt to manipulate the price even if they can't control it directly. Similar to what they've done with the gold and silver markets.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin or ripple ? on: January 04, 2018, 01:24:45 AM
Despite the recent price highs, I'm not a fan of XRP. If I had to pick I'd go with BTC, but there are many other alts out there that will provide a better return.

I hope to hear an update soon. For some reason, I've got a gut feeling about this one. Loaded up while they were still cheap. Let's see what the new year brings.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract on: January 02, 2018, 07:35:34 PM
Doesn't look like the posted picture is even accurate - I just pulled this off of coindar's site. Probably just an attempt to bump the price up.

70  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Account Hacked?! on: January 02, 2018, 04:28:03 PM
Did you get any sort of error with your phone? If someone is able to clone your SIM or temporarily switch your number to their own phone, they can intercept the 2FA. That's about all I can think of.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] YOURCHAIN - Let's Make Crypto YOURS Again! on: January 02, 2018, 02:12:09 PM
I can not place a buy order on etherdelta, do not know why, the buy button is below the screen and can not be scrolled down. is there a problem similar to mine?

What browser are you using? I've had issues with Microsoft Edge, but Chrome tends to work fine although it can be slow to load at times.
72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sell doge ? on: December 28, 2017, 05:33:43 PM
Similar to what the previous poster said, if you sell the Dogecoin for Bitcoin - or better yet, LTC, you could then send that to your coinbase account (if you've got one) and then send it to your bank. That's generally what I do. I only use LTC, because the transaction fees are lower. Also, be sure to use GDAX when selling to USD and use a limit order - you'll save yourself quite a bit in fees.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you donate Bitcoin for the poor and needy? on: December 28, 2017, 03:37:26 PM
I'm a big fan of giving back. 21 months ago, I was in the midst of a terrible relapse on drugs and alcohol - heroin is how I first got into crypto.

Now, I've done pretty well for myself since I stopped spending money on the vices. It only makes sense to help out a little from time to time.

That's one reason I'm a fan of the coin in my sig, DeepOnion. They recently started donating to charities on a regular basis.

I don't really believe in Karma, but I do think that good follows good. Someone was there to help me when I wanted to get sober, the least I can do is help others with a few bucks here and there when I convert some crypto into fiat.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Artemine- First Self Mining Smart Contract 2.0 on: December 28, 2017, 02:02:54 PM
What's the latest word from the Dev?

The guy may have bailed it seems.

I honestly doubt he's bailed, he just never posts updates - hence the incredibly crappy price. He seems to think he can waltz in with updates and then leave for a month or two with no news. This could be the best idea in the world, but it will never succeed because the Dev doesn't market it well.

I've pretty much written it off as a loss and moved onto other things though I do check the thread from time to time in hopes of some new developments.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How low will XRP go? on: December 28, 2017, 03:02:42 AM
With such a large supply, I'd honestly be surprised to see XRP stay very high. I think it's getting pumped by those in control and afraid of real crypto's. Doesn't mean you can't make money off of it, but there's other alts I'm more interested in/supportive of.
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency related stocks on: December 28, 2017, 12:42:29 AM
Yes, I used to trade GBTC rather frequently. Sold when I thought it was overvalued in the 300's and now last time I checked it's over $2,000 each. Live and learn, I suppose, but it's taken my strategy of hodling to a whole other level.
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am underage and having extreme difficulty buying Bitcoin. Help a kid out! on: December 26, 2017, 08:49:17 PM
Sorry, man, that sucks. Your other option would be to hang around here and build your account up to participate in some airdrops of alts that you could swap to bitcoin.

Otherwise, I'd probably go with getting a gift card and trading it on localbitcoins or paxful - but they are rife with scammers as well.

If it makes you feel any better, about 6 years ago or so I was scammed out of 20 btc. Worth a whopping $80 at the time, lol. Oh, to have those back in my wallet...
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Android Apps on: December 26, 2017, 02:48:52 PM
Your best bet for an Android mobile 'miner' is probably going to be ETN - Electroneum. It's not actually using your phone to mine, but if they ever launch it and do it correctly, it's supposed to pay out the longer you leave it open. The initial roll out was a bit of a disaster, but supposedly it will be launched in January. You can download the wallet app now, it just won't 'mine' anything.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] YOURCHAIN - Let's Make Crypto YOURS Again! on: December 21, 2017, 02:47:25 PM
Wow, rchain has got some major egg on it's face. This is definitely the sleeper project of 2018. Many thanks to the Dev for his diligent work. I look forward to seeing what the new year has to offer.
80  Economy / Exchanges / Re: gdax verify....always decliined on: December 20, 2017, 08:55:15 PM
I think you'd probably be better off asking this to their support, but have you checked this webpage out?

https://support.gdax.com/customer/portal/articles/2437862-id-verification-issues-

Maybe try to use the verification system inside the app they mention?
