I think it was an example of matek. For us, it is difficult to create a ranking or a comparison of levels because we do not have the possibility to switch between different levels to make a comparison. I think it should be a reduction from the 1 level. It might not be useful to apply a linear reduction of the cool down time but an exponential reduction. Just as an example! Level 1 CDT - 1 second. Level 2 CDT - 2 seconds Level 3 CDT - 4 seconds Level 4 CDT - 8 seconds and so on. Up to a maximum of 1 minute per additional level.
Furthermore, I am for any unsuccessful attempt to make something because ores, plates or components burned are to pull off this cool down time. I think you have already been punished enough for you to lose items then it would be fair not to have to wait. An example. If I want to produce 2 40nm PCB with me the CDT is 2 minutes 20 seconds. If now in the attempt a copper plate burns and it is only a 40 nm PCB manufactured then I have to wait 2M20S. Here I think it would be fair only to apply the CDT for a successful production. In this case, that would be 1 minute instead of 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Do you understand what I mean?

New Travel Mode : I don't understand why do you to make so complicated.
1) Example:
To travel 9 Jumps : we need : 9 * 11 minutes = 1h39 and 1h39 to return.
This makes progression a bit more interesting. In the past it was: To travel 9 jumps: 9 * 10 = static 90 minutes Now it's more like To travel 9 jumps (complete newbie): 9 * 11 To travel 9 jumps (more advanced player): 9 * 10 To travel 9 jumps (somewhat advanced player): 9 * 9 etc. Impossible to Jump and to dock with a trucker ( Need to wait 5 minutes in space )
That is precisely the point. We always hated the Jump-Dock and Undock-Shoot-Dock "gameplay". It was borderline cheating to us. With constant ability to hide on a station/planet, sector threat levels became almost completely irrelevant. Newbies could mine in most dangerous sectors, people attacking planets under GPD protection like it's nothing, PvP wouldn't work at all, etc. It's basically a method to enforce all other rules into play. We want to give ships more "weight". And we want to make combat more tactial, not a game of who docks to station faster. The final goal is to make combat more similar to tabletop-RPGs / turnbased wargames / games like Jugged Alliance, where your every turn counts. We also want to make teamplay more relevant, so that repairing, shielding, trading, conquest and all other activities demand more cooperation (or confrontation). It always should've been a multiplayer game, not a single-player game with chat. Your post was made in a form of a question and not a complaint, which I really appreciate. However, I realize players are also concerned with their earning rates. To that end, we have increased all rewards for everything, and in first time since the very beginning it's now possible to actually travel faster than before. We will keep improving the interface too, so it wouldn't take as many clicks/page loads. Please keep an eye on the following updates, everything will become even more clear in the nearby future.

yes thats true. The current cool down time is too high per level. It should be significantly less the higher the level is. You are absolutely right. I totally agree. However, you're comparing level 20 to level 30. Would it be more fair to also include stats for level 10 and level 0? Something tells me the situation might look much different.

zaiusz, forget everything I said, there was indeed a bug that had nothing to do with any of that. Cloaks should now be 99% reliable.

Hi toecutter, I have a problem unmounting scanners and mining lasers on my trucker. It was fine before the update, now it says"Equipement removal procedures not followed", I tried unmounting my mining laser on my starter ship and it's working fine. I need help. :-[

Well, none of that stuff happened out of order according to the log, and the pirates were shooting me waaaaay more often in tejat posterior than anywhere else.... shooting me relentlessly even while cloaked
Sorry, the "out-of-order" thing is my shortspeak for all kinds of similar problems. I'm not 100% sure, it might be some other bug in play. I'll have to devs double-check this. The actual technical problem we have is called race conditions, which I don't fully understand myself. However I've been given the following diagram: TIME PROCESS1 EVENT1 12:00 NPC picks target 12:10 NPC checks if it is cloaked 12:15 Player cloaks 12:30 NPC does some other checks 12:45 NPC fires
If you can show me a log when things are more spaced-out (i.e. not happening within the same minute), it might help us tremendously.

*The button that says "..." near the player name (Captain:) is now clickable and leads to a rudimentary info window. This window is not fully implemented yet and will receive some updates in the future. One feature is ready, though! You can add/remove players from your contact list, which is located on the right side of the chat panel. If you try to add a squadmate to your contact list, it might look like nothing has happened. Don't be alarmed, the Contacts pane just filters out the duplicates. Try adding someone else to see it in action.

hey, toecutter do you think that one day we will be able to claim and own stations and get partial of the income you probably wouldn't earn much but would be a nice feature
Something like that was an idea from day 1, but since we got planets to conquer it became a bit redundant. It still is a very remote possibility, though. So maybe.
in SG1, when i try to hail a station, i get redirected to a page that says "Internal Server Error"

Officially, they shouldn't be seeing nor shooting you. But given how everything happens out of order (see how closely your log messages are spaced), it's a semi-bug which won't likely get fixed anytime soon.

We had a small panic attack here, is marketplace corrupting items?!. Turned out things are pretty great, the bug is very very minor and not as scary at all. You can keep playing AND you can even take it out of the storage now. The minor bugfix is going to be applied anytime now. Do you mind if I explain to other players what happened? If that's not OK, I'll PM you.

There's actually a pretty good point there, although I shouldn't really tell you what it is. In any case, if you don't think those 30seconds are worth the satoshi, simply don't buy it. On the other hand, the cost/blueprint itself will likely be changed in the future, so there's that.

Dear toecutter, I have now half the day spent a basic engine craften. Now I wanted to sell this for 8000 satoshis that did not work. I had to leave the game and log in again. How about adding the coffee to the ores and crystals under the menu "Resources"? And if you add a new tab to the game in the future you could add the coffee there. I think that would make everyone happy. The player would have the possibility to sell his coffee easy and the developers would not have a huge effort to program it.
Turned out we already allow some weird items on the market, which don't fit any category, so, yeah, not an issue. Personally, I think an "Other" tab to group all such stuff would be nice. Whatever the solution, it's been added to the list. SpeedZoom/Promotion EventRemember speedzoom? Remember our neglected facebook page? Well, the team decided it deserves some love, finally. So here is the deal: We've been told it's good to have lots of "likes". We're not entirely sure what they are, but people say they are much more valuable than fiat, BTC, gold reserves, quantum computing and everything else on this side of the universe. Basically your worth as a human being (or a business) is measured in likes. Ack! And we don't have any! Help us reach 150 likes, and we'll enable speedzoom for 2 days. Then we'll set another goal (300 likes?) and the same deal would apply. We don't need much, no subscriptions (can you even "subscribe" to something on FB?) just a bit of those tasty, yummy, precious "likes".

Personally, I see no reason not to! However, our programmer says it would involve adding a new marketplace filter, which is a pain.And then we will have to persuade CONS to start trading bio materials, and they really don't like those. (Had some very bad cases of alien contamination) :) Edit: he lied, it's not necessary. Added to the list.

Dear toecutter, If you remember back I had described this problem with the energy already 2x. The energy loads up to a certain value and then jumps back to 0. For example. With me the energy display loaded up to 38, 40 and then fell back to 0. This effect has lasted about 20 - 30 minutes. Now it works again as usual. Right, that is kinda a well-known problem (the server crashes for some unrelated reason, and skips the regeneration step). But when this happens it happens for everyone, and people flood my E-Mail and well, it's pretty apparent. However everything looks more or less fine at the moment, that's why I'm worried. Are you saying it happened today?

SG2 sometimes gets confused about item prices. This was reported by online digger sometime ago. If that happens to you (things look similar to your screenshot), try refreshing the page, that should help.

The speed stat reduces cooldown time and energy cost for thrusters. Right now, only two ships (Buckshot and Buckaneer) have >0 of that stat. Buckshots should help newbies with exploration and delivery jobs. Buckaneers can serve as designated scout ships. Navigation skill also adds to this stat (independently of ship type), so advanced players will be able to gain some benefits too.

This is my first time typing on here I think but what do you mean it has been part of the game for 7 months I have use broken and failing lasers since crafting update and it did no difference in damage and the engines update was new to so plz help me understand that
Hi. There was a bug (introduced around December, I think), which made broken equipment behave as good as new. We have fixed it. You can find the complete timeline right here on this thread (but you will have to read lots and lots of pages).
