161  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: February 19, 2018, 05:49:44 AM
trading pace is not as it used to be.... awfully slower now.

@lafu, cryptopia has to address concerns and other issues faster to gain confidence back to your exchange....

163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] HAVVEN — Decentralised and asset-backed STABLECOIN on: February 16, 2018, 04:41:32 AM
What this mean: "stablecoin"? price will be fixed for this token? What profit for investor in this way?
This is Australian project?
Yes, it is Australian.

It uses a dual-token system, in which the stablecoin's value stays the same and the collateral token's value shifts.

I'm curious about how a dual-token system works.... which of the two tokens will then hold value or will be more valuable? would it be the variable token because its btc ratio will be dependent on market movement or will it be the stable one.....? by stable, you mean a fixed rate like a fixed bitcoin/fiat ratio? so which token will be entered at exchanges?
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: February 14, 2018, 01:42:29 PM
Is there any upcoming forks, if yes , I have etc in Binance what is the steps I need to get the fork coin .
how much is airdrop ratio
Kindly please help and advice

You will receive CLO tokens on a ratio of 1:1 the ETC you hold on your personal wallet. It isn't sure if exchanges will honor the airdrop for the coins held in their addresses so you better move them out of Binance before the airdrop.

what about wallets like exodus and jaxx?
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PSB] Pesobit, the currency for remittances and international cooperation on: February 14, 2018, 01:39:25 PM
i bet the dev for this coin still reads posts here. but if he's not, it doesn't matter.

any possibility of the community taking over and go through rebranding? some cryptocurrencies that were rebranded were successful after rebranding. will it be possible to do the same with psb? wonder how that can be done....
166  Local / Pilipinas / Re: A proposal for Philippines to have its own Cryptocurrency on: February 14, 2018, 01:34:17 PM

167  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: February 08, 2018, 06:20:25 AM
Is it true that coins.ph are now accepting ETHEREUM.

https://support.coins.ph/hc/en-us/articles/360000008622-How-can-I-buy-Ether-in-the-Philippines-

Hindi pa yata na release to. Wala pang ethereum sa website. Nag

Pahabol:

Eto sabi ni coinsph:
"Creating your wallet costs a one time 20 PHP fee. This fee goes to the Ethereum network. Coins.ph does not profit from this fee."
168  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitbit.cash wallet on: February 08, 2018, 06:14:11 AM
pr sken mas Trusted prin ang Coinsph, pero may parating n kalaban si coinsph Digitalcoins.ph lapit n sya mag Live,

search nyo s FB ung page or group nila pr may idea kyo: )

tapos itong bitbit, hindi man ako bigyan ng peso wallet address! hahahaha! ano va yan! satoshi citadel industries, what's wrong with your bitbit platform?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
169  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitbit.cash wallet on: February 08, 2018, 05:42:35 AM
upon recommendation ng isang kasamahan natin dito sa bitcoin talk, nagtry akong mag sign up para may alternative ako sa coinsph and paylance kung saan bagong sign up pa lang ako. sa coinsph since 2015 myembro na ako so, expecting bitbit.cash and paylance to have a similar or even better service.....

succeeded level 2 verification on both platforms and pending pa ang level 3 on both. ang concern ko lang sa bitbit.cash is that hindi naga-appear ang peso wallet ko so how the heck do i cash in?!  Grin Grin Grin

na-encounter nyo po ba ito? kasi loading lang yung peso wallet kung laptop gamit ko. nagtry akong mag-log sa device ko pero ang notification na na-receive ko is "no wallet" daw ako! hahaha! any insights po?
170  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Paylance - an alternative to Coins.ph? on: February 08, 2018, 02:46:24 AM
Hindi ako aware na nagpalit sila ng domain from .ph to .com. Ang original domain kasi nila is .ph o paylance.ph.

Maramign cash in and cash out options.

Awesome!!! Thanks for the tip! Gagawin ko yan and will share it among friends, too. It's about time that we had alternatives to coinsph and we won't miss good buy orders anymore. Nagka-interest ako sa USD option eh. Tapos may bitbit.cash? Love it!

sa tingin ko alam na ng banks na coinsph yun or abra or any exchange that can send deposits to your bank account and ang assumption nila kaagad is galing yung sa bitcoin.

2015 ako nagsimulang magbitcoin and during that time, wala pang kiyeme si BDO sa fiat deposits na galing ng bitcoin. services nga nila dati ang laging ginagamit sa cash ins ng coinsph eh. kaya lang ngayon nabago ang ihip ng hangin.

siguro mas best to ask your local branch or home branch about deposits from services using cryptocurrencies para alam mo na kung magiging safe ang pera mo sa kanila.
172  Local / Pamilihan / Paylance - an alternative to Coins.ph? on: February 08, 2018, 02:04:55 AM
Waiting for my interview to get verified for levels 2 and 3. Ang upperlimit for level 2 is 400k and ang upper limit sa level 3 is 2M. Pwedeng magconvert ang PHP to BTC and even to USD! Anyone tried their services already? Pa-share po ng reviews. At least may alternative na sa coinsph kung na-max out na ang cash in or cash out limit  Smiley

173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Regulatory actions hinting at clampdown of digital asset liquidation? on: February 07, 2018, 06:09:09 AM
after US and British banks ban credit card purchases of cryptocurrencies, would cryptocurrency users' liquidation of digital assets follow next?

could this be a measure that banks would use to restrict cryptocurrency use among the population, and a way for them to prevent cryptocurrency providers from reaching a broader investor base?

Agustin Carstens, former governor of Mexico's central bank, and current head of the Bank for International Settlements said that bitcoin

threatened to undermine public trust in central banks and posed a threat to financial stability, and he signalled a global clampdown.

“If authorities do not act pre-emptively, cryptocurrencies could become more interconnected with the main financial system and become a threat to financial stability,” he said.

so they're speaking out now. there's actual fear in his words there, and they do not want digital assets to become "interconnected" with the financial system.

conversion to fiat would be difficult for those of us who need fiat for daily use or for emergency use.

what's your take on this and care to offer any possible solutions for all of us in cryptospace?

cheers....
174  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-02-06] Bitcoin price falls below $6,000 as banker signals crackdown on: February 06, 2018, 11:14:19 AM
(BIS head says cryptocurrency is a ‘Ponzi scheme’ that poses a threat to financial stability)

The price of bitcoin fell below $6,000 (£4,300) for the first time this year as a leading central banker said it posed a threat to financial stability and signalled a global clampdown on the cryptocurrency.

The new head of the Bank for International Settlements, Agustín Carstens, said bitcoin had become a combination of “a bubble, a Ponzi scheme and an environmental disaster” that threatened to undermine public trust in central banks.

“If authorities do not act pre-emptively, cryptocurrencies could become more interconnected with the main financial system and become a threat to financial stability,” he said, speaking at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.

“There is a strong case for policy intervention. Appropriate authorities have a duty to educate and protect investors and consumers, and need to be prepared to act.”

Carsten, a former governor of Mexico’s central bank, said that despite the meteoric rise of bitcoin, cryptocurrencies were merely “pretending” to be currencies and were “unsafe”, potentially facilitating tax evasion, money laundering and criminal finance.

As the head of the body that represents the world’s central banks, his comments are the clearest sign yet that global regulators are preparing a crackdown on bitcoin, the price of which rose by 900% last year, making it the best performing asset of 2017. It hit a peak of near $20,000 in the week before Christmas.

However, it has fallen by more than 50% since the beginning of 2018, as investors grow increasingly fearful of intervention by regulators.

Bitcoin is not recognised by any central bank and allows people to bypass banks and traditional payment methods to pay for goods and services.

Carstens said central banks should in particular pay attention to the ties linking cryptocurrencies to real currencies, to ensure the relationship was “not parasitic”.

His comments follow a string of warnings on bitcoin from authorities and economists around the world, including India, the US, and South Korea. Facebook has banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrency adverts on its site.

Meanwhile, Lloyds Banking Group has banned customers from using its credit cards to buy bitcoin, amid fears it could be left in debt as the cryptocurrency’s value deflates.

175  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Stable exchange? on: February 06, 2018, 08:23:17 AM
All the exchanges you mentioned will as they existed for years and crashes occurred before except for Binance which is a few months old but they have no USD, I doubt they need any liquidity at this point as they have thousands/millions of users already and trading is happening between users and they can always catch up by the withdrawal and trading fees etc.

So you're like saying, those on that list can be trusted with our holdings, even if price takes a plunge?
176  Economy / Service Discussion / Stable exchange? on: February 06, 2018, 07:40:53 AM
Bitcoin price might be taking a deep dive and we can just speculate about when a rebound will occur.

With this dip, how would exchanges fare? Would this cause exchanges to declare bankruptcy? Which of the top exchanges do you think, is stable and can withstand a really deep bitcoin price dive?
177  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the bitcoin price going down? on: February 06, 2018, 07:16:37 AM
not much demand, hence the downtrend. o ray of light, where art thou?  Grin next support is somewhere 5,300 or so or i may be mistaken..... maybe after the chinese new year, the market will fuel the bitcoin rocket..... or probably after april fools?  Wink
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is SCAM, US Government Institute Claims Bitcoin Cash Is ‘Original’ Bitcoin. on: February 05, 2018, 09:41:14 AM
The problem with BTC is that it is fraud,
Also Bitcoin Cash will Replace wit BTC soon. US Government Institute Claims Bitcoin Cash Is ‘Original’ Bitcoin.

what makes them claim that bitcoin cash is the "original" bitcoin? what basis could there be to support that claim?

technically, i think the original bitcoin was the version created by satoshi nakamoto - the very first version, the version without iterations. when that version of bitcoin went through iterations and forks, then the original was changed.

however, since bitcoin follows certain consensus rules, and a bitcoin consensus - or a general agreement of what is called bitcoin by a majority of participants, then forks that deviate from these rules cannot be referred to as bitcoin. since bitcoin cash digressed from bitcoin's consensus rule and bitcoin consensus, then it was not awarded the bitcoin name.
179  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitcoin buy and sell rate in quoinex.com is better than coins.ph? on: February 05, 2018, 05:49:07 AM

quoinex is registered to a certain Mario Gomez Lozada so maaaring pinoy siya. para makamusta ang services ng website nya, will try and get back later kung may good news or bad ako....
180  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia..Scam i think. on: February 03, 2018, 02:56:16 PM
it's unfortunate that this has happened to you and empathize with you. i've used cryptopia countless times and have not experienced anything of this magnitude - yet - but hope that i won't ever experience it in the near future. but we'll never know when decent exchanges would turn rogue, right? so that's why it has become my standard practice to never leave my cryptocurrencies in any exchange - not just cryptopia. i learned that from bitcointalk veterans and that advice can be found in numerous threads here. hope we all find wisdom in that advice. kind regards....
