Also random question, would putting a short circuited component to test whether it's truly broken wreck the computer? I'm obviously not going to try this if something could happen.

That will certainly depend on how the component is short circuited.
If we talked about a PCIe card where VCC and GND is truely shorted, then could "interesting" things happen.
As long as we are not talking short circuited power rails, then will you in most case be safe.

But if you don't know what you are doing then are you better off throwing the component away or test it in a old computer.

Great initiative bitcoininfromation! I am so thrilled to see an EU group buy of physical crypto.
May I suggest that you place devthedev addy with big red bold letters in OP (before the lame phishing scammer see this thread), and clarify that ALL payment should go to this addy.
That would make it much harder for him to get away with his lame scam.

i can sell you many of those even thousands
wallet address with private keys
old then may 2014

Well it is worth importing them for sure.. 50 CLAM = .18BTC and that was from only a couple wallets!

Blazzed, did you try it out yourself?
Is it worth spending the time doing it?
1611  Economy / Digital goods / Re: buying you bitcoin-qt wallet on: December 08, 2014, 01:18:39 PM
This does not make much sense to me? How can old private keys be of any value to an altcoin?

OK, I looked a little at this CLAM altcoin, so apparently the initial Distribution was done through proof-of-chain.
So any BTC,LTC,DOGE addy that was active  May 12 2014 with a balance > dust, has received 4-5 CLAM.
The private key of these "lucky" addys can be used to claim the CLAM.

I still haven't sent him an email yet, I will once this question is answered. If you do not provide a good enough answer, I recommend you use a reputable escrow on the forum such as devthedev.
How much personal information people need to disclose in order to apply for your "job"?

This also needs to be answered.

I really don't see any reason not to use, e.g. devthedev ?
I would trust devthedev any day over some random webpage offering "escrow service".

This start to be a little fishy, very motivated OP until the point where the question about personal information and escrow options showed up.
1613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining v Hacking on: December 05, 2014, 10:08:50 AM
agreed, infinite amount of computing power btc would not be your main obective... if you had that you could just mine them and i guess steal them if you wanted and get them all and they would then be worthless so you wasted all this imaginary computer power to turn gold into mud :-P

That is the beauty of bitcoin, if you have enough "power" to corrupt the system, then would you also destroy the system, making your scam-profit worthless. Satoshi mention this in the white paper when he explains the security of PoW.
The point here is that the "power" is something that you buy via buying equipment and when you attack the Bitcoin network you will be devaluing the value of your equipment that cannot do anything other then mine a SHA256 coin.

Exactly!

Weird, it normally updates several times during an auction, sometimes a day later, but seems same numbers since and including the auction few days ago. Even logged out and back in. Just nice to get to new level of member.
Remember when i was newbie and couldn't figure out why I had posts limited to every 360 sec I believe. Made it hard to bid, lol

This post just made you go from Post = 251, to Post = 252, post count is working as it should.

Anyone know why the post count for everyone has not appeared to have risen in a few days?

I have made numerous posts for auctions and other and mine and others seems to be frozen.

Keepin me from my next jump to sr. member, lol

Post count (not to be confused with activity) is working just fine, I know since I have been watching mine the last couple of day since I want to see the "Post = leet" easter egg, when hitting 1337.

Thanks. I want it to be as easy as possible, and dealing with individuals and back and forth seems like a lot of work. I looked around and found this service, seems reasonable:
http://btcrow.com/

Personally I do not trust this entity.
What made you come to the conclusion that they can be trusted?
And what made you think that dealing with a website is more easy than an individual?

The true quality the escrow service can first be seen when there is a dispute, and with your type of "product" a dispute is much more likely to occur than if e.g. selling a silver bulion.
The escrows I have mentioned have time after time showed that they can deliver the service needed and solve disputes in a fair way.
Why take the risk with something else, at least until you have establish yourself with your own reputation.

If you are serious, use atleast an escrow.
Excellent tip, thank you. Can you recommend some good provider(s)?

PsychoticBoy
Tomatocage
DannyHamilton
SebastianJu
bitpop

All well-know by the community and experienced in escrow service.
I recommend that you contact one of them and arrange a deal.
From your activity it seams like you are serious about your business, but you don't have the reputation / trust rating to get an service in advance, so escrow is a good solution in your situation, it will also help you, in case your new staff is not delivering the work the contract state's, then can the escrow negotiate a reduction in payment for you, instead of the full payment.
