1601  Economy / Gambling / Re: https://twitter.com/SatoshiOdds Bet with a tweet, fixed odds on fixed stakes on: July 27, 2015, 09:22:14 PM
there's some stake there, that's great, this still isn't going to work. You are offering 50/50 odds on a bet that is not 50/50 to happen.

What site is being used to determine the price? What happens when the price is 280 at 11:50 and 20 people bet no?
1602  Economy / Gambling / Re: https://twitter.com/SatoshiOdds Bet with a tweet, fixed odds on fixed stakes on: July 27, 2015, 09:06:04 PM
Betting here is insane.

there is 0.245261 BTC balance right now, what happens if me and 2 of my friends bet no on your 300 dollar bet and it wins?

If you are offering fixed odds at the time of the bet, you are the bookie, and you need to have a balance to pay out the winners.

Do not listen to those bad advice. There is a third party mining monitor who reported ROI within ~114 days on www.CloudMining.website...

So, use your own conscience and make a wise decission. GooD Luck Smiley

If you think this guy making his $3 back in 114 days is a good idea, get your head examined.
1604  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack tournament on: July 27, 2015, 05:39:54 PM
Ultimate Bet used to have them, and so did a few of those subscription poker sites (pay x a month to play a zillion "freerolls" and maybe cash in ht e big tournament at the end of the month).

They work sort of like a sit and go in poker. Everyone sits at the same table with the same # of chips. You take turns placing your bet (with the person going first changing every hand) so that there is some strategy in how much you bet, and the person with the most chips at the end (an amount of time or number of hands) wins the most money.

You can add in other stuff like secret bets (you get to keep your bet a secret until after the hand is over), elimination hands (whoever has the least amount of chips after the hand is out) and whatnot.

It adds some other strategy to blackjack. If someone makes a big bet before you you can bet small and hope the dealer wins that hand. You might need to double a hand that you wouldn't in real life to get over the max bet.
1605  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion Paycoin XPY CPIG BTCLend xpyerr.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: July 25, 2015, 08:38:16 PM
I can't log in to PaycoinTalk.org to tell them this URGENT message!  I guess they are worried I am a troll, but from where I sit, THEY are the trolls!  I can help save Paycoin but not if they won't verify my account!  Someone pass this urgent message along to PaycoinTalk.org please!  My ideas can save their money and their hashlets!

With a $20 floor and the upcoming Honors Program, Paycoin will be the envy of all Crypto.  Not to mention the upcoming Paycoin Drone TO THE MOON!!!!!!!  But this can only happen IF JOSH IS BACK IN THE FOLD.

Paycoin is only at .04 cents: the people that STOLE Josh's intellectual property have DRIVEN PAYCOIN TO THE BRINK OF DEATH!  How can anyone here say we are better off without Josh?  When Josh was here Paycoin was worth over $20 at one point.  Since it was illegally taken from him it hasn't risen to even above a dollar!  Now it's at .04 cents!  This is unacceptable and everyone who says it is acceptable needs to be held accountable!

The only way to save Paycoin is: BRING BACK JOSH!  This will help recruit more people and make Paycoin go up!  Josh's promises are the ONLY thing that has moved Paycoin up.  Therefore WE NEED MORE JOSH AND MORE PROMISES!  Without him the price will continue it's drop to zero.  With Josh, we can make A LOT OF MONEY LIKE WE WERE PROMISED, but the FUDDERS and TROLLS who say nasty things about Josh will miss out and I agree!  And those who STOLE Josh't intellectual property CAUSED this crisis!  GIVE JOSH BACK HIS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY NOW!!! or we will all go broke!

Without Josh Paycoin is Dead!  But it doesn't have to be this way!  Bring back Josh!

Well done. Amusing as it may be, there is an interesting aspect to this trollfuddery. When the "rebels" took over it was claimed repeatedly that XPY will be brought up to "whitepaper specs", that new ways to use it will be created (without fanfare of preannouncements of course) and so on. That was 3 or 4 months ago at ~$0.20 so anyone who listened to that and held on to their coins lost another ~75%. All we got so far is xpy.io and... that's about it, isn't it?

Not sure why anyone believed that when the whitepaper is made up of completely made up things that no one ever attempted to make like orion controllers and a hyperflex blockchain
1606  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion Paycoin XPY CPIG BTCLend xpyerr.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: July 25, 2015, 12:05:15 AM
Remember CEX.io? Presumably one of the "legit" cloud mining businesses. Got a bit tangled in their own thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=318010.msg11958998#msg11958998

Some highlights:

  • Displayed a fake TrustPilot score on their home page. Then replaced it with another fake "satisfaction" number.
  • Insists to have never claimed to own mining hardware. Despite posts showing archived information about purchasing ASICs, data center pictures etc.
  • As soon as some criticism appeared in their thread some very happy users started posting positive reviews.

I've never been a big fan of CEX but never thought they would go full Garza. All they need to do now is get one of those hyperflux controllers.

Full Garza is the logical business move. If I gave you 1 btc to purchase and run a miner that would only generate enough btc to return .8 btc to me after you take your cut, why would you go through the trouble of purchasing a miner and paying for electricity and wasting your time and energy running the thing?
1607  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BEWARE: igot.com is either running a scam or is out of cash on: July 24, 2015, 11:57:13 PM
Are people able to transfer coins out of there?

It may suck, but I don't think your $16k is actually worth $16k anymore, so if you can some bitcoins out it might be time to do that.
1608  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Update: dead HYIP, Refund progress: BTC-arbs still doing refunds on: July 23, 2015, 02:58:18 AM
You are welcome. If it took you this long to realize you were being jerked around you need all the help you can get.

He was a liar, but you would have no money even if he wasn't because his plan wouldn't/couldn't work. The great thing about this forum is that everyone gets to learn from other people's mistakes. Sorry if it hurts your feelings but I'm always amazed when I read comments on year old obvious scam threads say anything but that I have to point it out so other people won't fall for the same scam again
1609  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Update: dead HYIP, Refund progress: BTC-arbs still doing refunds on: July 22, 2015, 02:41:42 PM
It's been quite some time since we heard a peep out of BTC-Arbs, so I'm very close to just completely writing off my losses and reporting these two (that I know of) to their local authorities. It won't amount to anything for anyone here, in fact in all likelihood it'll end what little payments we were seeing as it is, but after a year of this little trickle of Bitcoin every few months, I doubt anyone will be too concerned or surprised. I feel like my chain has just been jerked way too long on this thing and I'm over it. It's time for them to answer for what they did in a way that has some meaning.

You should have done that a long time ago, it was obvious that it was a ponzi from the beginning, and all but confirmed when it "died."

You can't do arbitrage with unlimited amounts of money because of slippage, I hope you enjoy the pennies you got as "refunds" as they allowed him an extra year of having to deal with any possible repercussions to ripping you off.
1610  Economy / Gambling / Re: Formal request on sport betting on: July 21, 2015, 07:00:38 PM
Phildo, what about the secondary idea I putted on the table?

Is mugen like video games? You can probably bet on esports fighting games if you look hard enough. You can bet on UFC/boxing.

I don't know what you mean by "legit simulated wrestling" legit and simulated have opposite meanings. A real fight would end up looking like a UFC fight (although not exactly the same if the goal was to pin the shoulders to the mat), that would probably end up looking like olympic style wrestling because you don't gain much by punching or kicking people.

Making wwe/tna type wrestling "real" would never work. All of the stuff that makes wwe/tna look exciting is a result of both guys working together.
1611  Economy / Gambling / Re: Formal request on sport betting on: July 21, 2015, 03:56:31 PM
PPV = Pay Per View Events, by the way, thanks for the honest answers, I always wondered why it wasn't in it...
I think TNA is more realistic and if it would be once for those I would still bet on it, even if it's rigged.
It would be good like... let's say this:

Wrestler A 1.3 Wrestler B 1.5 DQ 1.4

If the betting would never exceed 1.9 for wrestling it would always be good no?

Let's say we create a legit simulated wrestling, I would bet on that.
There was a website with mugen fighters, I loved that site, If it could be done with the same stuff I would pay to see and bet on it.

Dude, TNA is just as fake as the rest of them, and most of their shit is taped WAAAAY in advance so there's no way to smartly take bets on it.

Not exceeding 1.9 doesn't matter. Offering any odds on Ethan Carter to win his match "tonight" will end up in the bookie losing money because the match happened a month ago.

Your odds listed would cost the bookie a lot of money when someone that KNOWS who is going to win makes a bet.

How about Japanese Sumo wrestling?   Grin

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/feb/02/japan-sumo-wrestling-match-fixing

At least we all know pro wrestling is rigged . . .
1613  Economy / Gambling / Re: Formal request on sport betting on: July 21, 2015, 02:34:21 PM
I have seen people bet on wwe events, paddy power, bovada, etc sometimes will have lines up for the major events.

The limits are very small, and I really doubt you will ever see big limits, especially on a bitcoin betting site because the anonymous nature of bitcoin will make it very easy for people that know the outcome to make a lot of money.

the outcome of pro wrestling matches is predetermined, if you offer bets on it you need to do everything in your power to make sure that you know you aren't taking bets from people that know what's going to happen, and it's A LOT harder to do that in bitcoin.

looks like Jonah's other projects are being Paycoined. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=544732.msg11931647#msg11931647 apparently, he's MIA while his service goes south

Who would have guessed that a former ceo of a company that did nothing would do something like this? I can't believe it.

Is anything ever going to happen with this? I am starting to wonder if there is or ever was a criminal investigation going on. Starting to look like Josh is just going to skip away Scott-free(aside from a few civil suits which he can just completely ignore).

Something may happen, it may not. You have to realize that this is very small time for the federal authorities to actually give a shit about, especially because it's such a weird thing.

I don't expect much to happen, but I would see stuff happening because of the internet stuff in new england first. That adventure directly screwed over governments and people getting screwed out of internet/phone service they paid for is much more important than people getting screwed over in some hare brained investment scheme that never made a lick of sense.
Sorry, hare brained or not, "weird thing" or not, crime is crime and he should be pursued and made to account.

They should, but there's this thing called priorities. Wannabe investors losing small amounts is a very low priority.

If/when something happens, It will take time and involve Josh spending lots of your money between now and then.

The calendar is ticking, if you want money back or something to happen it will require effort. The key words are:

Cantor
Fitzgerald
vice
president
September
11th
charity
fraud.

Waiting for the law will take forever and may not result in anything. Make a big enough stink about a cantor Fitzgerald vp being within smelling distance of 9/11 charity fraud and you will actually get people to listen to you and may get some results. Garza is nothing, you won't get a cent from him, go for the big pockets with big guns, you have them.

I still wonder why no news site covered the charity scam. I agree with you, cantor is the key to attention.

Too many shit heads buying Garza lies and shirt excuses. It's also part of the reason why I think nothing will happen. Rational people that bought those hashlets would have freaked out and made a big stink. Instead a few people called us trolls,

I think people are greatly overestimating how much money was involved. If people lost the amount of money to match all the cheerleading done in this thread they would have made a lot more noise when the shit hit the fan.

Haha, maybe a few BTC and you can keep quiet but 19 BTC, you will be the community manager.    Grin

Since you didn't follow this ICO you can't tell people they don't know shit.  I don't think I see any investors of Versa that think highly of C-Cex in this ICO.

Anyways, I didn't lose much because I was too lazy to deposit BTC.  Rare time being lazy saved me a few BTC.

-tb-

Why what happened bro.. give me the tldr version.

Fresh coin with an announcement thread full of techno babble and a promise of a completely illogical buy wall after the ico.

Buy wall didn't happen.

Coin crashed immediately and someone Made 19 BTC for doing nothing.

That "completely illogical buy wall" has been in place for every C-cex ico for months and months. This is the first time they didn't actually follow through with it. I think we have seen the last of C-cex icos, you'd have to be nuts to buy one now.

It may have happened before, that doesn't mean it makes sense.

People don't pay more than they need to for things, especially things that they have an insane amount of like a coin they just created and gave themselves a billion of.

This falling apart isn't bad luck, it's bad intentions/process. MAYBE we can say the people that lost coins in the original "hack" on his exchange was bad luck. But anyone that lost anything of value after that point in time made a bad decision by expecting him to come through.
