16043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NASDAQ Article -- The Price of Bitcoin Is About to Get a Little Government Help on: April 02, 2015, 03:44:18 PM
Is this an April's Fools joke?

it's impossible to tell at this point. I really hate this stupid month where you can't fully trust any news just in case is an ellaborate joke.

It's obviously an April Fools joke.  If you don't understand why the US Government will never allow taxes to be paid in anything but dollars, then you have a lot of reading and thinking to do.

C'mon guys - this is just crazy.  The poor guy went to JAIL yesterday.  He has done so much for the community.  His crime was TINY!

This is all we managed to scrape up for him?  (.6 BTC)  What!?
https://blockchain.info/address/1NEgShr962NMHXet3WTVzwuW2189JRrP93

C'mon you cheap bastards, give the guy a few bucks.

I challenge you, no, I demand you pick up your damn android and kick down a few bucks.  Just to make his first day feel a little better like someone actually cares.  I am sleeping in nice sheets tonight - he is sleeping with four roommates on canvas.  To answer this challenge, please send .111 bitcoin to 1NEgShr962NMHXet3WTVzwuW2189JRrP93 so we can see who agrees.

It looks like bracek gave him 60 BTC.

Cloudmining is not only easier/more profitable for the sellers, but also for the buyers.

Where are all the rich cloudmining buyers?

Cheaper hardware + cheaper electricity = more profitable.

It's really that simple.

Unfortunately, it's...

Cheaper hardware + cheaper electricity + advertising costs + insurance costs + employee costs + building costs + cooling costs + development costs + maintenance costs + needing to make a decent profit + taxes = Customers losing money + the Bitcoin network becoming centralized + Future Bitcoin miners/users being discouraged from participating + Current miners being less profitable + More BTC flooding the markets = Worse off for everyone to benefit the few at the top with the most fiat.  Sound familiar?
16053  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: March 28, 2015, 09:25:02 PM
Just an update.  I paid off a couple of the NastyMining lenders who wished to receive a 70% final payout now instead of waiting longer for another BFL refund.  I also purchased a spare 1300watt PSU in case we get some new equipment.

I'd like to have our monthly live chat on April 2nd 3rd, at 12:00pm PST.  I am looking forward to it.
16054  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL Monarch - 1 BTC on: March 28, 2015, 04:56:08 AM
Buy 3 and I'll ship (within the US) for free.  Grin

what is the power consumption of each one?? i guess send me the consumption of one with a working fan so i have correct numbers. i coulda sworn i saw something about it being .5w per gh or somewhat lower then that but when i looked on their site the numbers were much higher at .7-.8w per gh which is weird because they claim its a top contender for efficient mining which is deff a lie and has been long before they actually started shipping them so do urs have numbers around the first set or around the second set??

If you underclock them they get 0.5w/GH but then they only get about 450gh/s each. They also don't get hot like that. This is how I'm running them now, but I need to make room for faster equipment.

stayed away after that, but should have read the writing on the wall, amhash was the warning sign that all ethical standards and practices had left the building. poor fool me.

I tried to warn people early on.  This is what scares me about Spondoolies now taking the same ethical approach to their future business (i.e. selling finite cloudhashing contracts because it's easier and more profitable and passes more risk to the customer).  Once people take the path of using their reputation to screw their customers for profit, it is difficult to recover.

What speed is the unit?  Is it a 700Gh unit?

Yes.
16059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: March 25, 2015, 08:24:11 PM
http://fightalpha.net/

For those who wish to get their money back, there is a law firm that has won all cases they've tried against Alpha.

They will handle all aspects of suing Alpha, all paperwork and court hearing, without any involvement from you being necessary, for a reasonable flat-fee.

The fee that was paid to them has been recovered on other cases, as well they argued that Alpha should pay 8% annual interest on the money they refused to refund, which the court found in favor of.

I will be posting their details in a newsletter soon, so if you want to hear about them just sign up at the site.

I may have to pursue something like this if they don't give us another lipservice update very soon.
