16041  Bitcoin / Hardware / Protection of miners due to voltage fluxes. on: September 06, 2019, 02:52:56 PM
So we have an issue in Clifton NJ  we are running 3 phase and we have had a srop to 190 volts on a regular basis.

This unit  will do about 3000 watts none stop but it is garbage inside.

https://www.amazon.com/Norstar-DAVR-5000110-transformer-Automatic-Regulator/dp/B07169Z3XX

It does work very well on the s17pro we have.  But  it has 14 gauge wire inside and I don't trust it to doe an m20s or any 3000 watt unit.

Below are some larger commercial units.

https://www.radwell.com/en-US/Buy/TSI%20POWER/TSI%20POWER/VRP-20000-0230

https://www.radwell.com/en-US/Buy/TSI%20POWER/TSI%20POWER/VRP-15000-0230

https://www.radwell.com/en-US/Buy/TSI%20POWER/TSI%20POWER/VRP-10000-0230

https://www.radwell.com/en-US/Buy/TSI%20POWER/TSI%20POWER/VRP-7500-0230

these are 1 phase.  but I could also get a 3 phase unit.
16042  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: September 06, 2019, 02:43:46 PM
My guess would  be $3650 based off the price of the S17 53TH and 1 month earlier delivery. Looks like we'll find out on Monday.

https://blog.bitmain.com/en/bitmain-expands-in-demand-antminer-17-series-with-two-new-miners-reveals-specifications-and-selling-times/

Well coins are edging close to 11,000.  If we get a coin push to 11 or 12 over the weekend I could see them wanting close to 4000.
16043  Other / Meta / I wanted to know how many source merits do I earn. Is there a list. on: September 06, 2019, 05:07:43 AM
So I am a source and I get source points but I don’t know how many I get.

Is there a list to show how large my source is.

I suppose I could try to figure out but I earn a lot of merits due to posting a lot of good posts.

So I wonder if there is a merit source list that says what each source earns.
16044  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: September 06, 2019, 04:55:01 AM
Good glad I waited a bit to order.
16045  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What and why? When your pool begins to fall behind. on: September 06, 2019, 04:52:38 AM
The curse of growing your hashrate in most cases is higher power costs.

Even if you have a 4 cent rate  with all s17 pros

  a 1 ph miner burns  about 40-44 watts 20 units x 50-53 = 1.00 to 1.06ph.
and 20 x 2225 = 44500 watts.
1 ph is not enough to help hit a lot of blocks.  So the math  is 0.04 x 44.5 x 720 = 1281 usd a month along with  20 x 3000 = 60000 bill or higher to buy the units.

a 10 ph pool hits a block every 55 days.  but going 110 days is going to happen around every 7th block.

I burn about 3000 usd in power in a month  and  collect about .6 btc along with 6 ltc each and every month.

I never worry about hit a block. And I am paid daily.  It is very hard  to convince myself to move to any pool under 0.5% hashrate.
1.0% is 830ph
0 .5% is 415ph

When I had smaller power bills It was not an issue.
When I had 1 partner it was not an issue.
with current power deal
the hoster
his son
buysolar
and me.

Makes it hard to not be on a no variance pool.

Personally I am think of taking off all next year I need a vacation. Tired of all the drama. Worry about a lot of shit and I do not earn a ton of money doing this.
16046  Other / Serious discussion / Re: We are all $laves on: September 05, 2019, 02:43:18 PM

If you are living in America (and now in most of Europe) you are not raised, you are harvested.
That's this feeling that makes some people crazy and shooting everyone else.

The Elite need people to do stuff they cannot do. They want to be served. You may think that robots would do the job better but it is not true. The humain population is way better than robots. You don't need to repair them, you just let them die. You don't need to build them, they reproduce themselves. Just give them entertainment and food, that's not too costly and use them until they die.

They have locked the social elevator, and poor cannot get rich anymore unless they are chosen by them. Musk, Zuckerberg, Gates, they are chosen, tolerated, and approved. They are also protected. The rest have nothing to raise from their original status.

That's when Bitcoin came. Now some people from the plebeian crowd have a lot of money and have not been chosen... big problem.

Very close to true.

"If you are living on Earth"  would make it true.  But that is just my opinion.
16047  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: September 05, 2019, 01:34:52 PM
hope so  today will be a five day delay or

250 x 0.00002272 = 0.00568 btc which is around $60.02 usd  this is continuing to look bad on their behalf.

In my case 1 unit  this burns me, buysolar, my hoster and minefarmbuy.

What also happens is I will not order from them for the t3 t53  due in OCT as I would think they would be late for that shipping.

Most likely we  will use a different company maybe avalon.
16048  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: September 05, 2019, 01:29:05 PM
they were very good from dec 2017 to august 2019.

but  something occurred in august 2019.

They have not posted on their telegram page for 2 weeks  last post was from sean on august 20.
they used to post all the time.
So a spell from August 20 to Sept 5 is a very long time for them to not post.

https://pangolinminer.com/

the link to their telegram is on bottom left of page above.

https://telegram.me/PangolinMinerOfficial  as far as I can tell August to Sept 5 is really long for them.
16049  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R606 750GH (up to 1TH) quiet miner, now shipping on: September 04, 2019, 03:55:26 PM
The compac, or 1pac stick that I won arrived today.

Adding it to the usb hub didn't seem to work and gave errors like "chip not found (0)".
After restarting cgminer the others didn't work either.

After removing all sticks and adding them again the stick(s) worked fine after restarting the miner a last time.

Anther 11GH/s added... you never know where it is good for Wink

Thanks again, Phil!

That is good I am glad it works.  I do pre-test them before I send them out.
16050  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help setting up Ebit 10.2 Miner please on: September 04, 2019, 03:17:41 PM
Ebit are know to be terrible gear with lousy support.  You may need to post everywhere you can think of on the net to find some help.   Try  telegram try reddit.  I am not sure anyone here has a 10.2 from ebit

I have 7 kinds of bitmain
I have 3 kinds of avalon
I have 3 kinds of whatsminer
I have 3 kinds of innosilicon

Based on people that worked with the ebit 9 models I never tried the ebit 10 models

I think  a lot of info was in chinese maybe you can find a guy to help translate it to english if you find it in chinese.

Good luck you will need it.
16051  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 04, 2019, 01:56:30 PM
Since there have been at least one  other dud you may as well return it and wait for a replacement.

I had not realized one other was returned. It is likely enough yours is the second dud.
16052  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: September 04, 2019, 12:38:22 AM
Something is odd with pangolin and their telegram channel they have gone silent for a week iirc.  Not sure what is up but they are not replying to anyone on the official channel.

Does anyone have any info if something is up?
16053  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: September 04, 2019, 12:10:10 AM
Also  the wedges work better at cooling along with the spacers I put in.
16054  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: September 03, 2019, 03:46:06 PM
Quite interesting  if it fails I would be willing to swap my r606 for your r606  and run yours in my setup .

My r606 is great.  But it is in a hi end pc build  using a spare  pcie cable from the  psu.

I have a ryzen 7 2700
I have a 1000 watts corsair psu
I have 32gb ram
I have an aorus mobo
I have a 1 tb ssd
I also co mine with 1 1080ti and 1 1660ti and the cpu all pointed to nice hash

along with 3 newpacs  and 1 r606 pointed to viabtc  doing bch
16055  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: September 03, 2019, 03:05:11 PM
third day of delayed shipping.

so 150 x 0.00002272 = 0.003408 btc lost which is now about $35.78 usd

four days

so 200 x 0.00002272 = 0.004544 btc lost which is about $47.48 usd

I now feel it is a race between my bitmain s9's due to ship on the 20-30 of sept.  and this due to ship no later then

aug31st.

Btw my t3 t39 has had a few issues it simply turns off about every 15 days need to be unplugged and turned back on ten minutes later.

If my t3 t3 50 ever shows up we will see if it does the same thing.
16056  Other / Meta / Re: Why my posts were deleted? on: September 03, 2019, 03:02:11 PM
I get lots of deleted posts.  Many times  I answer a set of questions from a newbie and the mods will decide to delete  all the replies I made all with all the questions asked by the newbie along with any one else that answered the questions.

If I kept track of deletes  I would say 1 in 100 of my posts are deleted  maybe 1 in 80.  But if you made 30000 posts it comes to over 300 maybe 400 deleted posts.

Once in a while I complain to the mod and tell the mod they are wrong, but most of the time I let it pass.

Most of my deletes are done by frodocooper and he is known to delete often in the mining section.
16057  Other / Meta / Re: Hey theymos, can i get your attention for a minute. on: September 02, 2019, 03:30:58 PM
With all due respect, I don't believe that the forum needs more merit sources / more merit allocation , if you look around meta and Beginners and Help, you can see that there are many stories of members earning a huge portion of merit in a very short period of time, this proves that there is either.

1-Enough merit to serve quality members
2-More merit than the forum needs

but just for the sake of simplicity let's assume the first point is correct, therefore I don't see a good reason for Theymos to give you or any other merit source more merit, because the forum does not have a problem with ranking up , you may prove me wrong by pointing out a good number of good members who are having a hard time earning merit, probably NONE.

Another proof of my statement above is the topic started by loyceV "Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source",  go take a look and you will find out that there really is only a few good posts that go unmerited.

This is getting too long already but I will also add another point which is the fact that Merit points are supposed to be scarce, they are not meant to be easy to get, also you as a merit source doing your part which I personally appreciate and I understand how difficult it could be, you should not feel like you are responsible for every good post that goes unmerited,  other merit sources will do their part too, and unless we get to the point where most of merit sources complain about not having enough merit, then we can say ok! we now need to increase merit allocations.

Having said that, certain sections, specially some Local boards might be of an exception, as the majority of the merit sources with "large bags" of merit might not be able to spot good posts in other languages, or boards they don't have any interest in.

Yeah I can’t give any merits to any foreign language threads as I am only a one language person.
The forum while international does have an English bias. I look around for places to give away merits. I read hundreds of posts every day and I find I don’t see a lot of quality posts.
16058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scammer caught tortured and killed. on: September 02, 2019, 03:45:21 AM
I think you would be less interested in this news if we just remove 'Bitcoin' from the title, like:
Scammer caught tortured and killed.
Every day, a lot of people, who scammed others are caught, and punished somehow...
If the scammer is not scamming with bitcoin, but any other kind of money, valuable things, etc... it's possible that he/she would get the same punishment from those who were scammed...
That's life, if someone starts to scam he/she should think about the possible consequences... maybe he was expecting some years in jail and after to spend the money happily somewhere on an exotic place...
well they tortured him for a key reveal.  Kind of only can be a btc story.

not really.
for example if he was scamming fiat then he would be hiding the cash somewhere and they would beat the location out of him. it goes for anything else too, the security levels and methods of storing the valuables might be different but the principle is the same.

Well not to argue but I have never heard of a torture to death a thief that attempted to steal 63 million in cash .   Although I am sure it has happened.

This is a btc forum.  So I started the thread.

I get that big drug lords have wracked and tortured to death many of their associates over big money. But it does not belong here as this is a btc forum.

I figure the dead guy may have a loved one that can access that coin.
I figure he knew he was dead so why give up the wallet.

Next case I figure he knew they would kill him .
I figure he knew if he kept his mouth shut his buddies would never see the coin.
So fuck them and he stuck it out.

Next case I figure it was stolen and he was fucked up for no reason at all.
16059  Other / Meta / Re: Hey theymos, can i get your attention for a minute. on: September 01, 2019, 09:30:23 PM
I handed some of mine out 12 to be exact. 6 to one and 1/2 a dozen to another.
16060  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: M20S Overclock on: September 01, 2019, 09:17:34 PM
If you have the P20 it's rated to 3350V. Not positive what the other models are rated for, I think it's labelled the P21.

Not sure how you plan on overclocking the machine, it doesn't have firmware with additional power modes as far as I know. I'm still looking for a LP version

I think he was being funny or sarcastic.
