I noticed one more small bug in my profile, which may be happening in other profiles as well. My profile bug is different: Trust Feedback Information Pos Neu Neg Received 0 0 0 Trust color: Dark Green

They are not public, I know, but were those sMerits a trivial function of member rank/activity? There's this: The exact formula was: yearActivity = activity in the last ~year, max 378 freeMerit = the merit (not sMerit) you started with modifier = 0.1 if member 0.2 if full member 0.25 if sr member 0.35 if hero 0.4 if legendary
return (yearActivity/378) * modifier * freeMerit So the most you could get is if you were a Legendary who maxed out your activity points in the last year, in which case you would get 1 * 0.4 * 1000 = 400 sMerit. Note that I later made an adjustment giving 500 extra merit to some hero members, but no extra sMerit was given here. I'll probably publish a dump of the initial sMerit at some point. But: based on this, I should have received 400 sMerit. I only got 200. If I remember correctly: in total, 600k sMerit was airdropped. That's slightly more than has been transfered since the introduction of Merit.

What I really think it would be interesting is a list of sMerits hodler where the output is a chart sorted for: Received Merits/2+ Airdropped Merits-Merits sent. I can make this, but I think you meant airdropped sMerit, and those aren't published.

Maybe some people dont like that their trust list is so easily accessible. I'm okay with that. And so is theymos, see http://bitcointalk.org/trust.txt.xz. To prevent such hacker way it may be will better if you will blacklist users at their request? I've been asked to censor data before. I don't censor data. However, if you want a loophole out of my Trust list viewer, I'll give you a loophole: empty your Trust list each Saturday morning, right before theymos' weekly Trust data dump. Then, after theymos' update, you can restore your Trust list for the following week. If you do this weekly, the only way to see your Trust list will be if someone includes only you ( please don't use a DT1-account for this!). This should show the 30,000 users you've included on their Depth 1. Thanks for helping me improve my Trust list viewer ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

I too love the freedom this forum offers! Once in a while someone suggests to restrict freedom of speech (often with arguments such as "this person is racist"), but I'm glad this forum is still as free as possible. I think by now it's safe to say theymos was a good choice, satoshi picked the right buy to run this forum. I've recently become allergic to the word "offended". So many people are offended for less and less important things nowadays. I'd like to say: Stop being offended! Why would you choose to feel miserable because of something someone you don't even know said on the internet? If that's important to you, you should re-evaluate your priorities. Grow a thicker skin ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Remember: you can't have the freedom to say what you want without other people having the same freedom!

Есть простое решение - оставить всё, как есть, но сделать траст лист анонимным. Чтобы не было видно кто добавил в траст, кто поставил тильду. А так это обычный инструмент давления. Try again now perhaps? We're really in opposite time zones, your request expired by the time I woke up.

Hey, this seems like an amazing project. Instead, why don't you allow anyone to check their score? I do allow anyone to create Trust score images. Just post a userID in the right format and it'll be processed. And if you are down for such a project let me know I will require your help to understand how this forum works. This isn't the right topic for that. For starters: just read a lot, most information is already available on the forum.

Can you suggest someone that I can trust? I am not sure who is the right person to approach. Someone highly trusted in terms of both trust ratings and trust list inclusions. I believe Loyce previously did this for another user. Correct. It's not the first case I've seen in which a possibly compromised account doesn't get taken by the attacker. Locking the account and recovering it makes that useless, while the attacker can try to scam/spam right under the owner's nose. Wait for theymos to respond to your PM, and if not, then ask Loyce to verify your IP data above. The guys from Cryptios have access to IP-data too. They might have more time for those things than theymos.
Can you sign a message from a Bitcoin address you posted a while ago, to prove you're the real owner?Good point (in other posts): if your system is compromised, you shouldn't unlock any wallets.

This would be something theymos could create: a new rank that shows you're an old user, without disclosing your old account. If Admin only creates such accounts for users who made a name for themselves, it could be a solution to have and eat the cake! I too wouldn't mind having more privacy, but once it's gone, there's no way to get it back. That would be something, but if your new rank, for example, shows as "New Legendary" instead of just "Legendary" then that new account get's "noticed" as well, and some internet detective is going to connect the dots. Anything but the original rank is going to arouse suspicion. Let's have a thought experiment:we already have Bitcoin mixers. What if we would have a Bitcointalk Account Mixer? For the sake or argument let's assume there are 8 people with more or less similar accounts (similar Rank, similar Trust, similar language). Those 8 account owners would all exchange their account in a big random shuffle, where none of them knows who gets which account. Their feedback can get a bold marker stating the date of the account shuffle, so it's obvious the older feedback belonged to a different person. Of course, this isn't ideal: the post history for instance suddenly doesn't belong to the person anymore. But the most important argument against account sales won't be a problem: none of these people would have an increased reason to start scamming or spamming with the "new" account.

I should be able to keep my Éclair LN testnet wallet open for the rest of the day (subject to the wallet going into hibernation on my mobile phone) When I tried again, the payment request had expired already.

I didn't change the password yet, because I sorted of panicked about that. You should do that first! Also: move this to Reputation. If you can prove someone had access to your account, you may be able to get out of your negative feedback. You could for instance ask someone trusted to confirm the login from a different IP, although that's not 100% proof.

How do you check if domain is available? I used namecheap.com for this.

Fair enough. There was only one other confirmation and it was from a newbie after he said newbies wouldnt be paid. This is Bitcoin, which has a public ledger. Addresses are posted in public, you can check exactly who did or did not get paid.

But chasing the highest resolution with a monolithic background image is not the right approach IMO. The image should be cut up and the pieces laid out in HTML (table, floating divs, etc) with an appropriate background color. That way it would scale nicely. I totally agree! Now, if anyone wants to do it, feel free to post the HTML code I need to copy in there ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) As long as it's plain HTML I'll use it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I've been here for 2 years (register) Indifferent for 3 years.. The reason I started writing is to enlighten people. I can't read most of your posts, but you don't look like a spammer to me. You're not even wearing a signature at the moment. Therefore, I followed my gut feeling (and Google Translate), and unloaded some of my sMerit pile onto many of the posts you selected. They don't look like spammers either, so they're not the users who are supposed to be restricted by the Merit system. 4000x4000? or 1920x4000? okey let me try do this 1920x4000: the width is okay. Unless people use a higher resolution, but I can't test that.

Thanks! I've changed the image link in your quote to fix embedding. See didtmansayabadword.tk for the result. It may need some changing though: can you make the same image 4000 pixels high? The current version is shown twice, which means an active day of bad words will overlap the second background image.

It was just a matter of time before the more intelligent account farmers figure out how to work within the merit system. You mean, like, account farmers who create quality posts and actually contribute to the forum? I call that a win! Until it's sold to a shitposter, but they shouldn't last long in a signature campaign, which makes them waste a very expensive good account.
