1621  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 2 BTC loan on: June 28, 2013, 10:22:31 PM
Lend me 0.85 BTC first -- I'll pay you back 1 BTC and then loan you 2BTC if you show me I can trust you.

I wrote a little guide to armory offline install on USB key:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241730.0
It should give you some great security.

It says the error is duplicate share, so does that mean you're just calculating the same hash over and over again without changing it?
1626  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 3 BFL FPGA Singles, escrow provided by John K. on: June 28, 2013, 04:52:14 PM
Couldn't one buy 3 block eruptors for 3BTC that would hash faster than one of the FPGA units?  I guess the FPGA units are reprogrammable.

Check the blogs for the shipping update.  Currently they're at Sept. 10

What damage does this do to the lifespan of the Jalapeno?

29% damage

We're paying now so that everything is ready to go when our chips get here.

Good luck, let us know how it goes -- maybe you should post a blog here -- coins mined, electricity cost, etc.
1634  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Need a $650 USD Loan For 6 Months on: June 27, 2013, 09:53:55 PM
You're not going to want a giant camera on vacation.  It's just annoying to lug around.  Get a small point and shoot that fits in your pocket -- you'll be much happier believe me.
1635  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: There is a market for PCI/PCIe-based ASIC boards on: June 27, 2013, 06:22:32 PM
The power overhead on a raspberry pi + usb hub is so much less than a full PC.
1636  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: This miner for sale on my local classifieds on: June 27, 2013, 05:36:57 PM
I used this mining calculator: http://btcinvest.net/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=19339258.272387&dcosts=2000&diff_mincrease=10&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=2000&btcusd_mincrease=10&btcusd=105.55&dpowcon=1000&dleadtime=0&pcost=0.25&calcweeks=48&action=calc

And that's at 10% difficulty increase/month, which is very very conservative in my opinion.  You probably shouldn't buy this. You'd be better off taking the money you were going to spend and converting them to BTC and then buying shares in a company like ASICMINER.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that calculator before -- I think I'll switch to that over excel.
1637  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: So who's switching on and off 30Thash ?? on: June 27, 2013, 05:17:38 PM
It must be that miner that uses lightning.  Can't wait to get one!
1638  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: June 27, 2013, 02:56:03 PM
I really hope the next project is on Eagle. I really don't like Kicad much.

Maybe we could take up a collection to buy an Eagle license for Bkkcoins Smiley
1639  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 715 remaining on: June 27, 2013, 02:52:10 PM
Maybe I'm too far ahead, but does anybody know how to get these units working once we get them? I mean, I have CGminer running and all, but I don't really know how to apply BKKCoins firmware for the Klondike project to CGminer under Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. Is there some how-to available somewhere?

I believe the firmware should be for the PIC, not for cgminer.  The cgminer developer will have to write the software to interface with the K16.

(The PIC is the microcontroller onboard the K16 that interfaces the avalon chips with cgminer)

This will probably be a problem once 1208925819614629174706176 people start using bitcoin.
