Spain's being eliminated like this was a very unexpected one for me. I have always known Spain by playing a boring game which is focused on ball possession completely. This was working out very well against smaller teams anyway of course. Hence I wasn't expecting them to have any problem against Morocco. But Morocco were just incredible there. It was like they solved their game plan completely and countered it in a great way. Because even though Spain had an insane percentage of ball possession they were still not having a comfortable time about having so many goal attempts.

I was still hopeful about penalty shootouts as Spain had more skilled players to take the penalties. But they had another shock there. They scored 0 out of 3 penalties and said goodbye to the World Cup by 3-0. I really don't understand how they can take these penalties too badly.

I thought that people were just trying to mock us by spreading rumours about a possible Ronaldo transfer to a team from the Turkish Super League. Fenerbahce were the most rumoured one to be clearer. But some time later more serious news sources started to write something about this. It was still seeming like a far posibility to me. Even if he was okay to come here it would be like impossible for any Turkish team to meet his demands in this financial condition.

We have seen big names coming to Turkey before of course. Drogba, Sneijder, Van Persie, Mario Gomez... These are only the first ones coming to my mind now. But Ronaldo is just at another level even if he has got really old now. He is a legend and he wouldn't go to any league unless he gets an irrevocable offer. Al-Nassr have already made that offer and it looks like they have reached an agreement. 

Dembele has made a big improvement since his new contract with Barcelona. He has always been criticized due to being very selfish. This was one of the reasons he couldn't show his talent very well in his previous contract times. But now he is more helpful for his teammates. His statistics in the La Liga can be shown as a proof for this actually - 4 goals and 5 assists. On the other hand I must admit that he is still having some selfish matches sometimes. It is like in his nature to try to do all the work from creating a goal opportunity to ending it.

But as long as he keeps this selfish behavior as low as possible he wouldn't have much problem with Xavi. Because Xavi is caring about the team effort very much. He doesn't want to see only one man trying to carry the match.

I have already started to feel sorry for Croatia in the quarter final round. Because Brazil are very likely to tear them apart. South Korea experienced a total destruction against Brazil. The result would have been much worse if Brazil didn't waste many more opportunities in the first half. They started to lower the tempo of the match in the second half as well. Croatia might not be that much weak in defense of course but there is still a big difference between these teams now obviously.

Croatia had a really big difficulty against Japan today. They were barely able to eliminate Japan by penalty shootouts. If they don't make any improvement in their effort they can't do much against Brazil.

Udinese's ambition didn't last long. They started the season really good and surprised people. But after a point their form started to drop down too sharply. They couldn't get any win in their last seven matches in the league. This is really an unbelievable performance considering how much strong they were before. What happened to them suddenly? I know that they have an average squad normally. But this is still not a normal run at all. Maybe there are some serious in-team problems mentally which causes them to play this much badly.

Now we see the biggest teams of the league following each other in the standings. This is a really good look actually as it shows that none of the big teams is having a too bad season. I know that Napoli have pulled away from most of those teams but they are at least not at bad positions in the standings now.

France - Poland is over. It was mostly a comfortable match for France just as expected. Giroud missed a 100% goal chance in the first half but he scored a goal not much time after it. Mbappe was the star of this match of course. His performance with 2 goals and 1 assist was really impressive. He is always France's biggest hope of course. He is like France's Messi now.    But I wouldn't like to put it in a way like France don't have a good squad. Their squad quality is of course much better than Argentina's.

I just wanted to say that they would have had more problems with scoring goals if they didn't have Mbappe in this World Cup. By the way Poland won a penalty in the last minutes. It was nearly going to be a disaster for Lewandowski first because he used it terrible. But he must be grateful that the penalty kick was repeated and he scored this time.

Bayern Munich don't need to sign any player to fill Mane's place in the team. Yes, there is still a long time ahead until Mane's recovery from his injury. He is expected to return by mid February for now. They of course have many Bundesliga matches in the meantime - 5 matches. But I believe that Bayern Munich can still do just fine in the league in his absence. Because the usual team spirit is back and they have started to play much more effective as a team. Nagelsmann would find a solution to Mane's absence as a result.

It is just going to be very important for Mane to be able to play against PSG in the first leg. This will be a way more different match compared to the Bundesliga ones obviously. They need one of their critical players like Mane in the match to raise their chance to win.

Barcelona are going to be my favourite side in their matchup against Manchester United. They are already favoured by bookies as well. Both of these teams are the closest candidates for the Europa League title at the same time. Because of that it isn't good to see one of them saying goodbye to it already in this round. Barcelona have shown a really poor performance against big opponents so far. It was the main reason why they were eliminated in the Champions League as well.

Xavi will need to focus on this problem during this break. If he finds out how he can end this then they would play very strongly against Manchester United and even control the game in both legs. Manchester United are already an inconsistent team and I'm not much positive about them to fix this in the other half of the season. Barcelona have much more effective attacking players than them in the first place. Lewandowski just needs to break his bad luck against big opponents this season.

Neymar's absence wouldn't be a big problem in the Ligue 1 matches even if he doesn't return until then. Because PSG are still too powerful against the remaining teams in the league. Mbappe and Messi would already be enough to obtain comfortable victories in many matches. As you said Neymar is returning very soon so there isn't any problem for PSG. They will just hope for Brazil to have him playing for as short time as possible. If he gets another injury this time it might be more serious.

He is already an injury-prone player you know. PSG had to face with a serious injury for Neymar in the previous season. He missed so many matches due to this. PSG need to keep all of their players in the trio away from an injury before their Champions League matches. Otherwise the Champions League title would be no more than a dream.

Roma are still not far away from the teams at top positions in the league despite their many loss of points in the recent times. They lost 10 points in their last 5 league matches only. They could have been even the owner of the second position now being close to Napoli as well. I just don't understand how Roma's form has dropped this much in a short time. As you have seen they were one of the teams starting the season great. Their problem is just not only against top teams of the league.

They make similar mistakes against weaker teams as well. The fans are waiting for success in this season too after raising the expectation level to a higher place last season. They want to see Roma qualifying for the Champions League. To do so, Mourinho just needs to take the right steps for the team to start the recover process immediately after this break.

This can be the most amazing night in the group stage. Because we have witnessed so many surprising incidents in both matches. Germany were shocked by a comeback from Costa Rica in the second half. The hopes for them seemed to be running out first but we watched another incredible effort by Germany. They scored 3 goals in 20 minutes and brought the score to 4-2. Germany actually wasted even more opportunities in this match so it could have been a much bigger win than this.

However Japan just destroyed their hopes anyway. It was a huge character put by them in the second half. Despite Spain's big dominance they still made their best effort and got 2-1 ahead in the first minutes of the second half. These goals came by only a three-minute interval by the way which shocked Spain for sure. Just imagine what a surprising result it would be if Costa Rica also beat Germany today.  

To tell the truth, I appreciate Japan's determination more than Germany. They absolutely deserved this qualification.

It is difficult to be sure of anything for now. Outsiders' championship in the Major was really unexpected. Most of us waited for the usual strong teams to fight for it but Outsiders played outstandingly as a team. It is all about how much they can keep this concentration and ambition here as well. I can add them to the top of my list for the contenders of the championship. I would add Heroic right after them because they are the second most consistent team in the recent times. Especially that big victory over FaZe would fire them up even more.

FaZe and Natus Vincere are still big disappointments. It is really hard to expect them to reach the finale while they both are this much unreliable.

Chelsea is a really interesting team when it comes to the Champions League. They always seem the underdog in this tournament. But they are always one of the teams to be careful against in the Champions League. Because they have played completely different here for long years. It is like they have been caring about this title more than the Premier League title in the meantime. I don't see other explanation to their success here in the recent years. We can give the 2020/21 season as an example for this. While not many people were thinking of them to win the CL title they just made it.

There is a question occupying my mind like whether this would be another season similar to that. But on the other hand I just don't give it much chance. Because we still haven't seen an example of a strong performance. They struggled against even Dinamo Zagreb so I don't know what they can do against the biggest title contenders.

Maybe Morocco were still going to advance but the incident on the image saved them from finishing the group behind Croatia. Atiba's header was nearly in the goal but the ball didn't pass the goal line completely. It was a really lucky moment for Morocco. Despite having no aim Canada still made some difficulties for Morocco from time to time.

Croatia - Belgium was an incredible match. Belgium really wasted so many opportunities. It would be more clear to indicate it as Lukaku rather than Belgium. Because he wasted three absolute goal chances as far as I remember. One came back from the post, he missed the target on one even though the goal was empty. On the last one he controlled the ball very badly despite the big mistake of the Croatia goalkeeper. In addition to these ones, he was really close to breaking the lock but Gvardiol's tackle was amazing and he saved his team there really. Lukaku was responsible for this draw in short. What a miss by Belgium!

Messi için iyi bir maç olmuyor evet. Penaltı kaçırdı ve atılan 2 golde de herhangi birisini kendisi atma ya da asistini yapma durumu olmadı. I don't think that Napoli are this much great thanks to Osimhen only. His departure would surely affect the team in a negative way. But I don't think that it would cause Napoli to just collapse suddenly. They can still find a new striker to fill his place. They would already make a lot of money from Osimhen's probable transfer. His current market value is already 70 million euros. I guess that Napoli would demand 100+ million euros for his transfer fee. To tell the truth, I believe he is worth that much considering how much money big teams are spending on players nowadays.

As long as Napoli fill his place with another talented striker I think they would move on as usual. Because they already have a strong system now thanks to Spalletti. They have a solid team performance which prevents them from being dependent on only one player. For example Napoli have 37 goals in the league but only 9 of them belong to Osimhen.

It was a pretty unfortunate day for Tunisia. They did a great work by taking advantage of France's condition and defeated them by 1-0. France didn't prefer to start with some of their crucial players and this cost them a loss. Tunisia found so many goal opportunities and finally scored one of them. The goal was a Messi-like one by the way. Khazri carried the ball to the penalty area amazingly and finished it nicely. France were actually nearly scoring the equalizer but VAR saved Tunisia.

However Australia's winning news just devastated Tunisia. Denmark actually were much better in the first half but they couldn't maintain this in the whole match. I still appreciate Australia's effort also because their advancing to next round was also surprising while there was a team like Denmark in the group. 

Erik ten Hag had better be ready for the other part of the season. Because Manchester United need some big improvements to start being more consistent. They have had some finishing problems in the recent times. This has caused them to struggle about taking more comfortable wins. I remember many matches that they had so many goal attempts but scored only one goal or even none. First of all their strikers need to improve themselves mentally. Because Manchester United have talented strikers already but they need to concentrate on their game more.

We might still see Manchester United making an offer to a good striker in January as well. Because they have parted their ways with Ronaldo so this is the right time for them to sign a reliable striker who can save them from this situation. If they don't become more productive then it will be very hard for them to enter top 4.
