what about this miner perfomance @7970/280x?
It's going to be slower than a 290/290X, but Claymore is working on it.

I'll experiment with 13.9 and the latest drivers to compare performance and post results. 14.3 is running fine for me, not slow at all.

v1.3 available, added "-ss 2" option to reduce CPU load in a few times.
Updated it... You churning out them updates pretty fast....lol

Anyone test ig0tik3d's vs dstorm's cpu miner? Which performs better?
Sorry for a half assed answer (not in front of my box to give you exacts) but ig0tik3d's performed better for me with an FX8350 and Mint Linux All good, an answer is an answer...lol...Thanks.... Seems like ig0tik3d's does perform better. Dstorm's seems to not load at times. ig0tik3d's is faster. It is based on my code but uses a SSE optimized version of the hamsi hash. Oh ok. Seems like a gpu miner wouldn't be too far away from being made.

v1.2 Beta released: Fixed bug with nonce overflow and decreased CPU usage by about 10%. Soon an update will be available with an option to decrease CPU usage in several times.
Will update that info...Thanks...

Finally got 1 block and 1 10-ch in 12 hours, just had to restart the PC twice. Running one MSI Twin Frozr III HD 7970 OC BE on Windows 7 Ultimate with AMD 14.3 driver and a AMD Phenom II x4 820.
36H mining 0 block 0 10-ch :/ bad luck for me (7970 CPD 1.16 with i7 3930K) Dang!!!....Not even a 10-ch.... My estimated CPD is around 1.21 to 1.39, fluctuates.... Give a day or two, it should start finding something.....Solo mining is always tough oppose to pool mining....

also the computer that has 2 7970's in it is my htpc which runs tv most of the day and it found a block in 8 hrs
That's balls, running your htpc as a miner...LOL....Cool.... Is is a big htpc case? Lucky the miner runs the gpu cool. yeah its a nzxt source 530 A full ATX case ok. I was think a compact htpc case. I have a thermaltake and silverstone I use for two htpc's I run with XBMC. yeah it sits behind my 60" tv HTPC's sit under their respective TV's. htpc is home theater pc that is all doesnt matter where they are placed just what they are used for not trying to derail the thread I know, but usually for the appearance stand point, they usually are put in a htpc case. I'm not trying to get off top on purpose. How's those 2x 7970 run? How many blocks have you found? How long have you run them?

what about this miner perfomance @7970/280x?
I'll try it tomorrow and give it a 24 hour session.

with the 1.1 beta it seems like my share value has gone down still watching could be miner or pool
so far it looks like they have halved they were in the 20's I mine with v1.1 and my rates are the same. Just check "4ch" value and compare it with old value from v1.0. Start v1.0 for a few minutes, then v1.1 for a few minutes, and compare. In v1.1 I did not change anything except fixed issue with "e:" disc and updated readme. So may be you need to reboot or something similar I'll try it later, I'm test the other miner.....I want to get a 24 hour snapshot of each...So, I'll try yours 23 hours from now.....

Shipping was $14 for the R7 240 to my home in California. Where is the store based at? Shipping is $3 to $6 on Newegg. Not a major complaint, still got the gpu cheaper after the shipping cost than buying from Newegg.
thats a pretty hefty shipping price. its coming from VA but that doesn't matter if you're using usps. i used to run a store and shipped boxes around the same size but heavier with tracking for around 8-10$ The business is backed by LLC in VA, but the store/warehouse might be based out of North America. I still saved a little over $39 with shipping cost vs Newegg's total cost after shipping and taxes.

also i see this is a modified jhprimeminer
That the reason it probably work with ypool fine. Hoping it can get double the performance in the immediate future with the next update.

To get access we need to provide the manufacturers proof of a certain amount of monthly sales; so if you stick by us, we'll be able to provide even higher savings directly to you. ....
