Damn with the size others are plotting my 4tb will be irrelevant before it shows up

lol I hear ya...I'm getting really anxious waiting for the damn thing.

I'm waiting on my 4x open box special 4TB drives from Newegg. Hopefully they come in on Thursday or Friday.  Cool

This should bring me to a total of 20TB. I might get about 3TB to 12TB more of hdd's also within the week.

What's the current TB storage of the network at the moment?

Hey burstcoin, did you finally get in contact with Bittrex?

Is anyone close to getting a Windows version of dcct's Linux plotter and/or a decent gpu plotter?

Will you simplify the V2 pool process in the near future?

Thanks for your hard work on this project....
Haven't heard anything from bittrex

Taking a look at gpu plotting again right now. I got a kernel working but with bad performance last week. Need to dig through the amd docs a bit. The per thread ram usage is too high to run everything on local mem, so that complicates things a bit.

I plan on integrating the reward assignment into the wallet interface, but haven't gotten there yet.

Oh ok, understandable about the wallet. Hope bittrex contacts you soon.

Is it an issue with OpenCL and/or shabal? Will the GPU plotter require 2GB or higher memory? If I remember, the gpu plotter had a 90% efficient on correctly plotting also? Any tentative schedule on the release of the gpu plotter? Someone supposedly on the thread has a friend finishing one within the week.

Is Pool v1 faster or v2 faster when the plots are ready?
can anybody tell me??

Same thing, the speed depends on your HD space.

Only difference between V1 is 50k on deadline and V2 is 75k on deadline.
Only difference between V1 is 50k on deadline and V2 is 75k on deadline.,,,  50K or 75K,  which deadline is better ??

75k

Hopefully the Windows port of the Linux version is out soon. I don't mind doing it on Linux, just a preference using Windows in general. It does plot faster on Linux on my Ubuntu machine.

Hello,

To generate plots, how to determine the plot value. I just gave the value as 824000 for 200 GB. Will this be enough. I also have a 1.5 Tb space, how much plot to allocate? pls help !!

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1200m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 1007041384185016045 0 824000 500 5

Plot size is calculated as (tb*1024*1024*1024)/256 or (gb*1024*1024)/256.

Simply put: f(x)=4096x
                f(x)=Plot Size
                   x=GB Size

To clarify, each system is a Solaris server with 120 4 TB NL-SAS disks attached to it via SAS, each is presented as an individual disk and then a root ZFS pool is constructed out of the entire thing leaving 420 TB of usable space per system.
Realistically, how much could it mine?

Shouldn't be too much to getting it working on Solaris since it is UNIX based. But there's probably a little recoding needed from the Linux code to make it work on Solaris. You can try the Linux tutorial and see if it would right out of the box.
I guess I should rephrase. I am confident in my ability to get it running on Solaris (I could always run it inside a zone anyways).  A better question is approx how many BURST/day (or approx BTC/day) would 120 4-TB NL-SAS disks net me? I could bring it up on up to four of these servers for at least a week or two.

No insult intended on making it work on Solaris, if you though that I was, my apologies.

It would take a long while to plot all those drives, that is dependent on your hardware setup, ie. cpus, ram, data transfer rates, bus bandwidth, etc. BURST/day estimation will change everyday as more people are getting up there hdd arrays online. But as stated earlier, you would have 25% of 36 mil/day, approx 9mil. Depending if you plan to solo or pool mine, that would also affect your daily output.
You're off a digit. He'd be getting 900k out of 3.6m each day.

Off by a multiple of 10, my bad....900k/day is a good haul if it pans out that way....

BTCURST coin!!!!

Alright guys, as I mentioned, I am in the process of helping a developer friend of mine here at work, as I work for a software developer, make a GUI that will help the noobs to download, plot, and mine. With this, I am hoping to get a bounty going so that my friend (who currently doesn't have any BURST) can get some pay for his hard work. Can we get together a bounty amount? I for one will start it off with a 10k donation. I don't know if there was ever a bounty for this already, but if so, can we just start adding to it?? Thanks!

Please list how much you are willing to contribute to the bounty, he is hoping to have this finished within a couple days, and the bounty would be a nice gesture to show that we care when people help out the coin and community as a whole!

Also, like I mentioned, we believe this will be Windows and 64bit only to start, it may then evolve from there, but it will be that for the beginning.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE WILLING TO CONTRIBUTE, OR IF THERE IS ALREADY A BOUNTY, AND WE CAN ADD TO IT. MY 10K WILL EITHER START IT OFF, OR CONTINUE THE EXISTING ONE. LET'S GET IT STARTED IN HERE!

Thank you for having such an amazing community, and I will continue to do whatever I can to improve it!

bump to new page, also, I WILL POST SCREENSHOTS OF DEVELOPMENT starting most likely tomorrow. To prove the project is actually being done.

pm the dev to post it on the OP. This will definitely increase the investors and novice miners to have better entry into Burst.

Yeah my 850gb is being fast out way to fast, 4 more terabytes on the way.

I'm working on getting 5x 4TB within the week asap. Hope that's enough to solo mine by the time I get them shipped in.

Hi. I write about pool http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/ admin wrote that repaired payments.
I think he is steal our money.

User with account     BURST-Y3LJ-428E-SZG5-HN5W3 now attached to this pool. He found 2 blocks: 7929,7947.

But pool not write about it. Now balance of the pool- is 30'452 Bursts. If admin not paid 20000 bursts for miners, i I won't begin to come more

I highly doubt that dcct would steal anything from anyone. Maybe PM him and ask if there is an issue.

+1

Thats not my pool. I just wrote the C miner / merge tool.

oh, who is it that wrote the block explorer, oh wait... It's URAY!

And he's also not going to steal anything.

Burst is really difficult if you don't have more than 4TB to pool mine or 8TB solo mine at least.

Today in Burst News:
- Burst to be added to Bittrex soon
- over 70 BTC volume and near 900 satoshi price on c-cex
- Gui plotter/miner in the works

i think burst on bittrex is not good now!

BTER, Poloniex, BTC38 and Cryptsy are better options in my opinion.

For bittrex is good, but not now..

yes... any big exchange is good... but not now...
It's not confirmed, but it sure looks like they will add it soon, especially with all the volume and attention lately.
I would be shocked if we don't see BURST on Bittrex later today. There is no other reason why they would add NXT all of a sudden.

My suggestion - pull your sell order on C-Cex. We have all made good money selling in the 600 - 800 range but I think it is worth waiting for a second exchange and see what happens.

trex just added NXT back, I guess they will be adding BURST soon aswell

Bittrex want to add this coin soon!

Dev, speak with them!

what im suppose to do with this ?

It should be:

Code:
pocminer.POCMiner generate 3989028246376916378 0 120000 500 5

You have:

Code:
pocminer.POCMiner generate [b]*[/b]3989028246376916378[b]#*[/b] 0 120000 500 5

Loose the *'s and # around your account number.

Yup, you found the issue my good sir....lol

so I'm attemptin to run my plot generator over the network.  im getting this error saying it cant find main class poc miner?

is this a permission issue or something to do with java?

Java stuff. You have to map the network share to a drive letter and start it from there.
As it says - (running from) UNC path is not supported!

nice! i knew it was something little i had already mapped a drive but was still in the shared folder trying to run it, clicked x and opened map drive ran it again boom works

Right on, awesome.....Mining Burst can be a challenge at times, some things aren't so clear instruction-wise at times.

the link wallet 1.0.3 on OP page do not work.
where i can download it?

if i go in solo mining i can use the 1.0.2 wallet version???

thank you

No, you absolutely must use 1.0.3 no matter how you plan to mine.  I just downloaded it fine from the link in the OP.  I've seen MEGA be tempermental sometimes, just keep trying.

It seems it can't find the pocminer java file - it needs to be in the same directory as the bat file.

it is, it must have something to do with it running from a mapped drive

Mapped drives are a little tricky at times to mine with. You have to use mklink or anything similar to that. Plus you have to make sure you have enough bandwidth on the LAN, ie. 10Gbe ideally, 2Gbe(Truncated), etc....

im not trying to mine with it just plot the drives with a different PC... im getting stuck on the syntax for the generate bat not sure why it isnt finding the files they are all there

Are you running the plot app in the drive that you are plotting?

yes from my desktop, and im trying to run it again on a different PC through a mapped drive to write the other half of the plots to utilize the drive's write speed

Oh, I meant the app should be located in the target drive you are plotting. Sometimes running it from the local PC can have issues plotting to a network drive.
