I would believe Cryptsy would get it online before Bittrex.

so here is our next plan

1. convert Nxt code base from Java to C++11
2. stratum-like mining protocol
3. desktop wallet (osx, win, linux)
4. iOS / android wallet
5. Faucet
6. Official IRC channel
7. Subreddit
8. sidechain, where plot of this chain will hold public data, think like torrent where leecher pay seeder with burst
9. forget anon, its green address, you can associate your address with real/legal identity
10. gpu based plot generator
11. multipool (reverse-pool)

I like 10, 1, 3 and 2. lol
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | Update to 1.0.3 before block 6500 on: September 04, 2014, 05:11:49 PM
it is better to use 1 plots = 500 Gb or 5 plots = 100 Gb Huh

Just a choice or preference. Do you like running multiple miners or a single miner? Do you like the plots to be finished faster?

Personally, I like a single plot and miner. It's up to you how you want to run it.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | Update to 1.0.3 before block 6500 on: September 04, 2014, 05:09:01 PM
I want to know if anyone has heard anything about Cryptsy or Bittrex... I hear rumors of their adding BURST today, but see no actual proof, has anyone heard anything else? Huh

bittrex operator does not even have any clue how to integrate Burst into their system, what a noob...

crowetic, you probably heard IE supposedly rumor of a exchange taking it today, don't believe everything he says.

uray, isn't it the same implementation as NXT. I don't see why would it be an issue.

Anyone working on the GPU plotter generator? Anyone recoding and compiling dcct's Linux plotter/miner for Windows?

http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io

set your reward assignment to 10745596296835956940 (BURST-L28E-WSYC-F4N3-B82AC)
mining URL : http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io port 80

make sure you are using correct mining program for this pool
Java Miners [ https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/burst-mirror/burst-pool-miner.zip ] for OSX, Windows, Linux
DCCT Miners [ https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/burst-mirror/dcct-pool-miner.tgz ] for Linux-x86_64

more mining instruction : http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/howto.html
more detail about pool : http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/howitwork.html

  • No Deadline Limit
  • 1.5% Pool Fee
  • Instant Payout, no registration required (only reward assignment)
  • 10 Burst Minimum Payout
  • Node.JS + WebSocket based pool

please post on this thread for any questions or suggestion

That pool is looking way better and no deadline limit. I might switch to that once my ~28TB of storage can't get a 1~2 blocks a day.

yup no deadline limit, until we got spammed by invalid shares... LOL LOL

please use correct miner i give you on the link or on the site
my next project is to create better mining protocol
since currently we are still using poll-ed based mining, i am planing to create stratum like protocol to reduce net trafic
unless dev already did it

What measures are used to minimize invalid shares on the pool?

invalid shares are rejected by pool's wallet anyway and their share does not count by pool,
but their traffic is annoying and hurting my eyes

Oh ok.

Is it more profitable to run 10TB on a single wallet, or run 5TB each on two different wallets?

Exactly the same.

Quote
would it increase my chances of finding shares in a pool.. or blocks going solo?

When going solo you get the same amount of coins - on average. With just a few TB its more like gambling, but with 10TB you can give it a try.

https://bchain.info/BURST/tools/calculator

10TB is about 2.5 blocks per day - with current diff.

Nice tool, you should ask if the dev would put that on the OP. Thanks

hey guys, im thinking about to buy new HDD just for it. What do you think about Western Digital Green 6000GB 64MB cache . Is it viable ? How many coins for a day I can expect with that ?

2x3TB are better they cost less, actually the seagate barracuda is the best for 3tb, equal cost to WD but with 7200rpm, easy to resell

man i dont care about resell them because my eshop offer to return goods back in 2 months without giving them reason if you pay 10e fee. So my plan is clear I will back that hdd after 1 month and 29 days of use im just asking if this is the best one for mining.

2x3 still cost far less than one 6tb

I bought up the last 4x open box special Seagate 4TB hdds for $120 each at Newegg, total was $516 USD after tax and free 3 day shipping via Premiere account.

3TB and 4TB hdds are the best price point at the moment.

Yes , Any new info for the pocminer written in C and not in java ( java is very very slow  Sad ) .

95% done, but usable if you add your passphrase to the code manually.
- a lot faster
- multithreaded
- multiple plot directories
- uses almost no memory
- for solo mining only (I guess)

http://pastebin.com/PrnGyg19

Go to line 101 and put your passphrase in. Remember to replace spaces with +
Then compile (gcc -o mine mine.c -lpthread)

When running always end the path's with /
so:

Code:
> ./mine 127.0.0.1 /mnt/disk1/plots/ /mnt/disk2/plots/ /mnt/disk3/plots/
2872 MB read/11488 GB total/deadline 13929s (13855s left)

Oh thanks , so now i must to compile it xD ...   Can you help me ?

You need to get mingw32 and install it in linux. Then use the command line: x86_64_mingw32-gcc -o mine mine.c -lpthread

I woud like to compile it to an Os windows , not linux Wink .

I meant you need mingw32 for linux to compile for windows...lol

You mean install mingw32 in windows to compile from linux

My error, I was thinking it was for Windows. Guess dcct isn't going to compile a Windows version any time soon. lol

Nope. He isn't.

That's unfortunate, strange some people can only code/compile in one platform only. Don't get me wrong, I like/use Linux(Ubuntu), FreeBSD(FreeNAS) and Mac OSX(Mountain Lion), but Windows is more widely adopted to the masses.

Deve should cut total amount. 2 billion is too much. This coin si gonna ne big, if che cut the way to moon si guaranteed

For some people who can't read.

Block reward starts at 10,000/block, then decreases 5% each month (similar to halving every 14 months, but much smoother)

we are producing 3.6M a day per 420(14 months) = 1.5B coin, the mining will end in 660 days, basically there is no halving lmao

Thats not how the client does it.

Quote
   @Override
    public long getBlockReward() {
        if(this.height == 0 || this.height >= 1944000) {
                return 0;
        }
        int month = this.height / 10800;
        long reward = BigInteger.valueOf(10000)
                        .multiply(BigInteger.valueOf(95).pow(month))
                        .divide(BigInteger.valueOf(100).pow(month)).longValue() * Constants.ONE_NXT;

        return reward;
    }

From block 1944000 on we get no more reward, before that its 10000 * (floor(height / 10800)) ^ 0.95

mh, ok i didn't check that, 5% a month is still too low, is asking for dumping

2 billion isn't that bad, it helps with distribution and adoption a bit.

Honestly, if people are complaining about this, then make your own PoC coin out of the source code. Live with it or do something about it.

clone of this will pop up soon, maybe written in c++, with a standard gui and everything

Good, then people will stop complaining and go chase the greed train to hell.... The intent of this coin originally was to introduce a new mining technology, not satisfy peoples lustful greed....

Some people don't read the context well or choose not too. Some think that it meant 14 months that the mining will be over.

Maybe a translation pages for the major languages, other than English, need to be on the to do list for the project.

That sucks and is not good for the Burst miner.

The XCloudcoin Cloud HD Hashing multi pool will be released very soon to all XCloudcoin holders and public. This will offer support for XCloudcoin and it's subsequent investors giving us a solid foundation. This is the first step of cloud mining integration with crypto currency and is an important stepping stone in our development. We are choosing BURST to mine on the multi pool. We have looked at the development of the coin and we are happy with the technological development of this coin and the properties to help our investors. XCloud storage will also be integrated into the mining platform. Soon to be released will be the worlds first Cloud HD hashing pool with integrated storage this will be a huge and innovative step for XCloudcoin, we are currently testing our storage performance and capacity of the service at 80 Terabytes we are seeing positive signs with our tests for profitability and efficiency. We are very excited about this development. With this service we aim to give back to investors with an enhanced profit sharing system. Revenue will be distributed from the multi pool to XCloudcoin holders. The pool has already been setup for one of our private investors and you can currently see the wallet amount here http://burst.cryptoport.io/acc/6777939135823731909

If you launched your very successful coin, why are you mining another to pay your investors?

Is this not the concept of multi pool?  Pure PoS Coins mine PoW coins to buy their own coins for the miners.

how much of the cloud storage capacity will be used to mine this coin?

we are still under testing and monitoring performance, we might add a little more so around 150tb to 200 tb .

This is kind of a mix feeling with this. I'd rather have gpu, asic and cpu miners do the multipool.

With 10TB, i think its better to use the Pool.

ok but what is the return estimate with the pool?

Rough estimate you can do it divide your total TB by the total in the network, then multiply by 3.6 million coins. I think the current network size is 1.9~2 PB.

For example if I had my 4x 4TB now, it would do (16/2000TB)3.6*10^6=28800 approx. So, about 2 to 3 blocks a day-ish.

About 4~5TB to get a block/day, give or take.

ubuntu plots double the speed, is that still the case if you run it in vmware? inside of windows

All depends if you have enough cores and ram to run it. How efficient the system is in that environment.

i guess my question is my i5 8gb ram plotting in windows 7 seems slow, would i be better off running vmware ubuntu with the same specs?

You can try it. I might try it out once I get my new drives in.
