Just curious... We soft-marketed this DIY physical bitcoin as "one of the smallest ... physical bitcoins on the market!"

I'm wondering if there's a physical bitcoin that's smaller. Does anyone know?

Regards,
Chris

If you mean smallest with holo, then I'm not sure. But if not, then there are some 1g physical bitcoins that are smaller than these pennies  Smiley

Thanks for the reply, miffman. Yes, I wasn't including Og's 1g collectible tokens. I meant something that would have a privkey and hold BTC.

Regards,
Me

One thought, what about prefunding it? I'd have no issue with it and it would help you making the order without any worry.

Thanks for the suggestion, Hhamppy. Smiley Generally, we prefer to avoid pre-selling products. We did it once last year with a canvas bank bag filled with 100 coins, but all those coins took almost 2 weeks longer to arrive from the mint than expected. None of our customers complained, and they all seemed to understand, but still... On the other hand, it's not like we're sourcing a new product here. We know the source, and we know the quality, so the only chance we'd be taking is with the delivery time.

Is anyone else interested in more of these DIY Mini Physicals?

Regards,
Chris

I can recall a post where theymos says its okay to use alts to bid on your own auctions because you didn't say you wouldn't.

You are right I've never heard of shill bidding before

True. But allowing something simply because you didn't state that you wouldn't is a ridiculous opinion. For instance, in this auction thread, you didn't state that you wouldn't steal the high bidder's BTC and send him an empty box, but that doesn't make it right if you were to do so. I'm sure you understand now. Just set a high reserve next time, and all will be good. Smiley

Good luck with the auction.

Chris
1625  Other / Archival / Re: [AUCTION] 5oz of .999 Fine Copper Bitcoin Penny Doodle |only 10 made on: April 13, 2017, 02:35:50 PM
Are these copper doodles come with a paper one aswell ?

Short Answer: These copper doodles are one-off originals, with no paper copy.

Long Answer: Well, technically, everything, including my signatures front and back, were originally drawn on paper, then photographed, made digital, imported into Photoshop, then meticulously second-layer traced by me to create a digital doodle, which was then saved and provided to the copper artisan for engraving. So these doodles were hand-drawn, then digitally drawn (traced) by me. Unfortunately, only a few of the original paper doodles / sketches survived, and I didn't think it would be fair to include them with their matching Copper Doodles if everyone didn't get one. I hope that makes sense. Undecided

Chris

stablegfuckblood

LOL WTF? Cheesy Killyoustabfuckblood? I can't stop laughing. Cheesy

On a serious note... Yes, it's better to start with a high reserve. Bidding on your own auction under a different name (known or not) is called "shill bidding," (one of the many types, but most obvious) and it's generally considered a type of con perpetrated by untrustworthy ne'er-do-wells, which is why it's against the rules at auction houses (online or physical brick-and-mortar). Obviously, you didn't realize this, or you would've never done it. But now you know, and it's an easy lesson learned. Just set a reserve price next time -- the lowest you'll take. It's as simple as that. Smiley

Good luck with the auction.

Oh, and you may want to post photos of the front too.

Regards,
Chris

I'm really interested to see what the Copper Doodle might sell for on auction. Might help to list the specifics like 5oz of .999 Fine Copper, only ten (10) made, etc. Good luck.

Once I receive the new Kialara Moon Bars, I'll stick one up for auction and see what happens Smiley
You managed to secure one?

Lauda, there were still a few left on the website earlier this week.

The whole kialra series of stuff seems to be super hot right now.  I imagine Papersafe should soon see appreciation like this.  BG4 i think is right up there with Max on creativity, artistic style, and quality.  Interesting to see the trends.

I've always thought the same, wheelz. Those two brands are top shelf. Smiley

I'm almost certain it came with the very first roll...Which would make it the very first SCRIBBLE.

COOL, proof that I am the first and number 1 Bitcoin Penny fan.

Oh, yes. I can officially confirm that you were, without a doubt, our very first customer. And since you purchased our very first Limited Edition Roll (before we had them individually numbered), that's probably our very first scribbled note.  Smiley

Chris

1631  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] The 2017 Bitcoin Penny™ Mini Physicals (DIY + Fundable) on: April 12, 2017, 01:08:03 PM
These are not "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" they are simply limited stock which means they can make more, at the time stock was limited like any other pace you buy stuff on planet earth.

I would say YES to making more stock as its not a "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" just not enough at the moment, I dont see the need for any special "marks" on the coins for second run at all Smiley

Id be in to buy some for sure Smiley

thanks!

You're correct, Buck. These were never mean to be "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" in any way. (In those cases, we will ALWAYS describe the product as such.) We simply had a limited quantity in stock, because we only placed a small order. We didn't know that these Mini Physicals would be so popular. Smiley

I was planning to take a short break from BP (still on the forums, just not minting or releasing anything new) for a few months while I focus on a personal project, which is why I mentioned that we wouldn't be selling anything more for a long while. But I really don't mind minting another run of these DIY coins. (I'd like to own some too! LOL) As long as enough people are interested in them to justify the second, larger mint run, then we'll do it.

However, I can see how some of our customers may have accidentally thought these were "Limited Edition" or "Special Edition" in some kind of way, then purchased because of that reason alone. In that case, I'm happy to offer a FULL REFUND on your Mini Physicals purchase. Just let me know that you'd like a refund, and I'll issue it immediately.

In the meantime... who is interested in a second mint run of these DIY Mini Physicals? Grin

Regards,
Chris

How many "Pre-doodles" like this 1 ,are there in the wild....Huh

First one, only one Huh

Wow! It's been a long while since I've seen one of those, BG! Smiley Those brown Kraft paper scribbles went out with our first sales, and I believe only for our Limited Edition Rolls. I don't think we sent similar notes along with our Short Rolls. We may have, but I don't think so. (The Short Rolls were miffman's idea, if I remember correctly. You might ask him if he ever received one with his Short Roll, which was our first one sold.)

Regardless, our simple books show that until we placed the order for our first THANK YOU cards, we had only sold four (4) Limited Edition Rolls and two (2) Short Rolls. So...six (6) of those brown Kraft paper scribbles at the most?

Regards,
Chris

Yes, I couldn't imagine The Bitcoin Penny Co. existing without our classic, brown paper rolls! Grin

That's definitely something to think about for our future releases. Thanks for mentioning it.

The only reason why I buy the rolls is because they are limited.

I'd like some more different rolls

I completely agree.

As I explained in another thread... Yes, a lot of people missed out on these. To be honest, we hadn't expected such a quick flood of purchases, and we weren't sure if many people would want them, so we only minted those few coins. I do wish we had minted enough for everyone. (Heck, I don't even have one of these rolls!) However, minting more isn't really a problem. The only products we absolutely cannot mint more of is our Special Edition Rolls. I suppose that if enough people are interested in more of these Mini Physicals short rolls, then we could place another order with the mint. Might take a couple weeks to have them in hand. I had hoped to make this our last release for a few months, so that I can focus more on other personal (non-BP) projects. However, I suppose that one more run of these might be a good opportunity for everyone. (Myself included, because I really want one of these rolls!)

What does everyone think about a second, larger run of these? (We may even mark the second run rolls with a little star to note that they were not of the original batch, if that's something that might interest you collectors.)

Regards,
Chris

Can I reserve a single? I will take it if Minerjones hasn't purchased a roll (as I would just buy one through him as he stuff for me). I know this isn't ideal for you Chris, but MJ is currently sleeping and I don't want to miss out.

Mitchell,

As long as you get one, then I'm happy. Smiley

Let me know what you decide to do with MJ, and I'll reserve one for you in the meantime. Everything is irie.

i will take two singles

Two singles, it is. Thanks, Sky. Smiley

I can't believe the rolls were already sold out in ~45 minutes.  A little sad I missed this one.   Cry

Yes, I wasn't expecting them to sell out that quickly. Next time we'll limit it to one (1) roll per person for the first 24 hours.

Regards,
Chris

PS -- I'm a little sad too. I meant to keep one roll for myself, but I miscalculated. Now I don't have any of these coins either. LOL Cry (The LOL is for the irony. I'm laughing on the outside and crying on the inside.)
