I know how much hate is accumulated against Avalon team. I am not advocating for them here but so far they get delivered their AVALON2 chips without any delays from stock according to this forum.  But what i can tell you is that:

Avalon batch 2 chips are available for immediate delivery at 6 btc per 500 chips - 20% above compared to this offer with almost 13 times less investment. And they get delivered in day or two. There is a reference design for Avalon 2 + technobit and probably others with working product so time to market for ready to mine products will be 10 - 15 days max (if all is going well  without delays) compared to 2-3 months with this chips

So Profit (IF ANY AT ALL) will be bigger with avalon2 compared to this offer
For me this chip at that price of 100 Btc with unclear feature is looser definitely.

Luck to all of you.

Best

Seems Like Avalon2 Chip?
Is it?
Are there any tech docs available.
If it is Avalon 2 (even it is not) The price is too high in my opinion. Two months to market at least for minig borads to be assembled

My feelings tell me that it is Avalon2 for sure...But anyway time will tell
Good luck to you and your customers

Ich weiss nicht Sad
Trying to buy it from there but dont understand anything... in german language... will try again using translation..
Thanks!
Me too  Cheesy
A friend is buying them for me but they work  rock stable with tplink
1624  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon2 based miner from Technobit - HEX16A2 on: December 08, 2013, 08:06:08 PM
If you have just on board you are good to go. You just need an usb cable and power. Otherwise consider buying USB hub(s) to connect more boards.
I guess you have a proper sized PSU to power your boards from?
In my rigs I am having 15 hexa connected to single tplink so I guess 10+ Avalon2 boards should be no problem
I have a 1200W Power Supply Unit Enermax Platimax
http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/product_a1_1_1&lv0=1&lv1=52&no=174
Need to buy an USB hub also. I want more than one board.
Thanks a lot.
Buy this one if you can

I bought the tplink as recommended but am not sure what it actually does Smiley I guess i will just use hexminer - is it easy to use ?

Yes it is. Login at 192.168.0.99 tplink default IP, setup password, network, pools all via web It has cgminer inside and it works great Wink
Consider buying USB hub if you will run more than one board
1626  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon2 based miner from Technobit - HEX16A2 on: December 08, 2013, 07:03:35 PM
It is hashing for sure with all technobit products. You can get it preflashed from their site to save some time and troubles for almost same prace. If you are new just by one from there
http://technobit.eu/index.php?id_product=37&controller=product&id_lang=1
It is cheaper compared to 40 euros

Ok, after ordering that I just have to setup and start mining or need more parts?
Sorry for my novice questions but I really want to learn and start somewhere.
Appreciate ypu help!

hi guy's,

i can understand your frustrations, when i read all the posts here, but i honestly do not compain, ok my order to got delayed by a couple of weeks, but i received them yesterday. they were well packed, and work great. they are now connected almost 24h and earned me 0.05BTC each...

Do you just connect this to the PSU and USB on the computer, start GCIminer and it will be recognized ?
1.there is a patch for cgminer, but there is no official win build
If you want cgmoner you have to build one for Linux
Or try with tplinlk. Tplink works great and there are official images from technobit site available for downloadhttp://technobit.eu/index.php?id_product=37&controller=product&id_lang=1
You can by the tplink itself preflashed
If you insist on windows you will have to us hexminer only also available for download
1628  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon2 based miner from Technobit - HEX16A2 on: December 08, 2013, 06:01:28 PM
I got my TPlink box
from Maplins £39.99
I updated the firmware and
bang both of my miners working at 45Ghz in total
Happy mining Smiley
What and from where you got this? I'm new in this, need a bit help tp understand. If you're plesed with mining I might want to buy exactly the same... if it is possible. Thanks a lot.

1629  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: December 08, 2013, 05:58:37 PM
Pricing of the new H-cards looks like a blatant cash grab to try to make up some of the money pico stocks lost when some funds from their wallets were stolen.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=133147.msg3769061#msg3769061

I was optimistic about future Bitfury offerings, but it's obvious from the latest pricing that they aren't really interested in selling mining hardware to end users, so I'll stick with Knc.

The only good thing about the Dave's latest prices is that they won't sell many units, so it won't impact the difficulty much...
But how much hashing power they will deploy? As long as wafer cost should be low already.
1630  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: December 08, 2013, 10:48:02 AM
With ASICs it has always been on the cards that suppliers with their own ASIC would retreat into just supplying their own mine. This might be for the reason of protecting their own rig earnings but at a more basic level if you are making a low profit on hardware why have the hassle and costs of customer support, logistics and the chance they will not pay you if the market goes the wrong way. Hopefully Bitfury ASICs will become available again at a reasonable price but given my statement above they might not.

We are now in a period where the market will start to become more stable. It won't stop growing but the growth will become more controlled. X200+ growth in hashing power in the last year has been somewhat explosive. With ASICs appearing already at 28nm it is unlikely that newer ASIC technologies will offer much over these in cost reduction for Bitcoin in the short term so there is unlikely to be big advantages in people doing technology jumps like we have seen in the last 12 months. So it will be down to more of a grind, low margins, and how much your electric costs. That might mean a handful of super-rigs in the world, based in low electric cost sites, and basically controlled by ASIC producers with 90% of the network.
And that will be the end of bitcoin because people are going to loose interest. When community dies bitcoin will follow. I wish them luck selling their 'hard earned' coins to themselves. Before this happens They will make a good money for sure
RIP Cry
That process has been started already and it is a matter of timing for it to end

Excellent review and pictures Smiley
Any ideas on how you can link them together so uses one usb controller? What PSU would be the best ?

Thanks

Glad you liked it Smiley

There is no can-bus support in this revision of the board, so you'll need powered USB hub for more boards.

best
2GOOD

Do not need to be powered anymore.
Only Avalon gen1 based HEX16A requires powered hub.
With HEX16B and A2 you can used passive hub and to power even tp-link router from the boards and hub .
10x to our board designer for the efforts in this direction

Nice move! The TP-Link router doesn't seem to want to be fed 5v into the USB socket itself - so I am guessing there is a series blocking diode in the router so 5v output only from the USB... But I suspect it will be fairly easy to hardware mod the router to be able to take its 5v from the hub/HEX16A2/B by linking the 5v from the power input to the USB connector (or locating & shorting the series diode)... Then it is a very tidy solution.

Do not do sysupgrade now, you might loose hot plug option
Just set the router with your Network and pool data
And happy hashing

Thank you for your great work on the TP-Link Marto - popped in network and pool data & I am happily hashing  Smiley

Nice touch using 'Screen'

Took all of 5 minutes - what a great little solution Grin Took me longer to configure the Hexminer Windoze temporary option!

Melb

Super. I like the screen part very much also
1634  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: MR3020 Flashing with Technobit Firmware on: December 05, 2013, 05:07:40 AM
I am glad that you made it
1. It will be good to take a look Change log
2. If you are going to use it with mix of hex products A , B, C (avalon2)
Make sure you set the default miner to HExa otherwise choose the one you are using. If hexa is in your hands select that
3. The best results you will get if you power all devs USB hub tplink and miners from PSU. the key is that all devices connected to share a common PSU ground. If I were you I would throw away tplink power adapter and USB hub power adapter also. Make appropriate cable to power USB hub from PSU and connect tplink both USB cables data and power there + USB of your miners
4. factory.bin image is used when tplink has stock fw. When new image is released the one to be used is sysyupgrade.bin as long as you have openwrt flashed already
5. Happy mining Smiley
1635  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: MR3020 Flashing with Technobit Firmware on: December 04, 2013, 08:01:09 PM
Yes it is.
Change your PC IP to 192.168.0.xxx/24 and try default image router IP at http://192.168.0.99 ☺☺ do not miss http part IE does not like IPS in URLS
1636  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon2 based miner from Technobit - HEX16A2 on: December 03, 2013, 07:20:21 PM
how many W should have the power supply for 7x boards?
750 W at least if I read the power figures right. Pay attention to 12v rail it should be at least 60 Amps. That power will let you run the boards overclocked
If I were you I shall go with 850 wats 70 amps 12v with tplink all powered from PSU only sharing common ground
1637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX16A2 - 16 chip Avalon Gen2 board on: November 29, 2013, 06:17:28 AM
Maybe you send me 16 of these since you never sent me the 16 Gen 1 chips you owe me.

Unless you have shipping info for me???
You did not paid handling tax, so regular mail ..
It will get to you when it get to you

Its been 23 days, where are you located Mars?

Bulgaria EU.
Just regular post.
If you do not get them in the next 7 days
I'll send again from my personal chips.
Please stay on topic

Thats why i only ship with tracking. Regular post as registered letter to add tracking. Too dangerous otherwise.

Well thats why your GBs go well and Martos do not.

He screwed half a dozen people on this group buy, didnt send the refund or the chips and pocketed thousands of dollars of BTC

Joe,
I will pay DHL shipping for you so you can get your chips again and stick them in a place where sun never reaches one buy one. I will be very happy if you post back in screams how it feels like.  Please do share this unforgettable experience with us in public.
Will you be so kind to stop spamming this thread with your group buy issues?

Open a new one and scream there
1638  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bi•Fury | 5+ GH/s USB Miner [FASTEST USB MINER IN THE WORLD][IN STOCK!] on: November 28, 2013, 02:58:08 PM
Any chance of a price drop ? 450 euros for 5gh/s with shipping is kinda expensive

cheers

edited to change 5ghz to 5 gh/s !
No chance expect price raise. There is no point of lowering the prices when they can sell them expensive. No one will do it just because he likes you. Besides they are mining with them also which is absolutely normal. Why to lower the prices? They will of course when the stick become useless. I have read once here a comment of someone in times when all were exited about Avalon batch one. It was about that we  with our money invested in that PREORDER MARKET are going to ruin bitcoin. Slowly i start to realize that it is true and it will become more and more hardly for us miners to make some profit from minig. I am not referring the usb sticks only but in general

1639  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bi•Fury | 5+ GH/s USB Miner [FASTEST USB MINER IN THE WORLD][IN STOCK!] on: November 28, 2013, 09:15:32 AM
I wrote this because:
1. Currently I have several USB Miners stucked in customs. Since they were paid in BTC and there is no invoice in USD/EURO attached (in fact not even in BTC) is attached they do not know how to handle it. And if this problem is solved one day they need to check if this product may be imported...as you can see it would be much easier if the shipping includes an invoice.
2. When you are driving a business (selling hundreds of Miners IS business) you should get a VAT number. Of course this is annoying paperwork, but if you don't and this is being discovered you can get in big trouble. So to protect yourself you should think about it.
They just do not care we are the ones to suffer unfortunately. I wish you to get your sticks soon and probably you should consider your next purchases from that company. What i do is to choose EU company if i can. Then lack of invoice is not critical at least in my country EU member as long as goods are shipped from EU member
I am not mentioning the fact that you have spent 1000+ EURos for 15 Gh (3 sticks ) and they are obliged to contact you ASAP but this is other story.
As long as we pay the ridiculous prices they do not care. BUT if we the buyers all act AS ONE they will start to pay attention to small details like invoices, prices and customer service. Unfortunately it will never happen  Cry And we are the ones to be blamed only. And all this shit will continue to the point when BTC collapses which i do not want to happen

1640  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help with best online tech shop for EU on: November 28, 2013, 09:02:19 AM
Hi mates.
I've been searching online shops for a few days now - alternative to newegg.com, but can't find anything. Could you please help the brother out here and tell me some good shop which is at least similar to newegg?
Only Germany shops are somewhat close to newegg regarding price tag, but still high (computeruniverse,alternate...)

I really envy all American!!!  Smiley

Hope we can do some list here of good online shops for EU or worldwide.

Cheers
Mate,
I was searching hard also but no matter what i do i am getting same USD prices in EUR or GBP. That suks!

I will be watching this thread closely
