New movie about young boxer "Creed" is so strong! Good movire with motiavation to live and also sports.

Creed looks good.
Of course, "Rocky" is one of the best movies of all time, in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies! I appreciate the info.

I'm going to do some more research on algorithms/ encryption used for specific coins.
(This is half of the reason I'm interested in bitcoin. I believe blockchain encryption will be used in many things in the future and is a cool topic to research!)
1623  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Antivirus are you using? on: May 15, 2016, 12:20:23 PM
Windows Defender/ Microsoft Security Essentials.

They are decent for free. I'm always very careful that my system is updated, and I don't click any suspicious links/ files.

Unfortunately, a lot of the free Antivirus have become so intrusive. They look at your web traffic/ mail, and some go as far as to man-in-the-middle your https connections. Of course they do it in the name of "security". But I've stopped using Avast because of this reason.

Some of the paid services like ESET or Kaspersky are decent. Every time I have to deal with changing a setting in Symantech I get annoyed because it takes over control of the Windows firewall and things like that.

Im currently only running a few stick miners on CKPool so my payments are very low.
The site states "Dust payments below 0.00010000 BTC are not sent out yet."

I've earned just over the total minimum, but not in one payment.
What do I have to do to actually get this deposited in a wallet?
Do I have to wait for it to hit a certain total? Do I make a request somewhere?
Should I wait until I have a certain amount before I get paid if Im paying a transfer fee?

Very new to all this and any help is greatly appreciated!

1626  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: May 14, 2016, 05:07:21 PM
Im running two sticks plugged into the motherboard on a VMWare ESXI 5.1 host I have. VM runs Linux 4.2.0-27 generic 14.04.1 Ubuntu.
(It runs a local DNS server so I figured I would get a little more use out of the box and have it mine some USB sticks while it did DNS)

I've been getting pretty decent speeds but I often get the "Gekko detect failed to initialise (incorrect device?).
when I start mining. (Im testing different speeds etc so I restart a few times a week)

It usually works fine if I restart CGminer a couple times. Is this common or something I can troubleshoot with my setup?
1627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Are all altcoins mined on GPU? on: May 14, 2016, 02:12:02 PM
Are pretty much all of the altcoins mined on GPU rigs at this point?
Is it getting to the point that any of the altcoins will be mined on ASICs, or will it stay GPU?
(Do altcoins prevent the use of ASIC mining purposely? I know Zcash will attempt to do this.)

This also makes me think, could there ever be a way to re-use old bitcoin mining gear to mine alt-coins, or are they built too specific to be moved to another coin?
1628  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 180 blocks solved! on: May 14, 2016, 09:31:18 AM
When I look at https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/pool/solockpool
and it says
"Block mined with CSV version byte
This will count towards the softfork activation of BIP68, BIP112, BIP113"

what does this mean, exactly. I've googled it but not a lot of information coming up.

From my limited understanding of mining, with a pool you are all working together to split the rewards,
with solo mining, you are basically playing the lottery so that you have a very small chance of a large payout?
(And this is a bit of both- CK pool is doing some of the backend work so you dont have to download a whole block chain?)

1631  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone use those yellow tint glasses for computer eye strain reduction? on: May 07, 2016, 01:58:02 PM
Even just looking away from the screen every half hour can reduce eye strain.
Give your eyes a minute to focus on something else.

Personally as someone who works with computers I've been interested in these "computer glasses"
but since I need a prescription to see, it becomes much more complicated.
Ive seen places that will make some tinted prescription Zeiss lenses, but that is adding to the already high.
1632  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 80 machine Setup bittech on: May 07, 2016, 03:06:18 AM
Thank you for sharing your setup.
It is really cool to see the insides of a serious mining operation.
Any updates/ results posts are greatly appreciated!
