I'm not sure why people think that ATX power supplies are the way to go for device that only requires a 12v feed.  There are much (MUCH) better/cheaper/more efficient options.

er... such as?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/P059-HP-Proliant-DL585-POWER-SUPPLY-HSTNS-PA01-337867-501-406421-001-1300W-PSU-/251215621069 for example (hundreds of others though)

do you have the pinouts for these PSU's ?

This is what mine says

i would just how mean S1's are on that plane ?

PM me your login details for team viewer which you get when you open it, then yes i will be able to help

Thanks brother, what you did made it work.
I truly thank you Smiley

one question:

I get around 138GHs btcguild, it's not exactly 180Ghs according to the machines specs.

Why is that?

the numbers with go up give it time
1666  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 24, 2014, 10:14:59 AM
Guys first of all I would like to thank all of you that helped me get passed my problem.

I have managed to edit and save the configuration file and I am not getting any errors.

My problem now is that I am not getting any mining out of my Antminer either.

Miner status shows zero activity even though there are no errors now.

What?Huh?

What do I do?

can you post a screen shot of your pool setting ?
1667  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 24, 2014, 10:07:09 AM
Is there anything we can do about UPS in terms of compensation?

As some of you are probably in the same batch as me going to the EU (shipped 21st or 22nd), we have got this message:

Mumbai, India    23/01/2014    17:59   A flight delay occurred because of aircraft mechanical reasons.

It has not moved since, the ETA still says end of today, but the tracking hasn't been updated so can't see it going from India to my house in the 7 or so hours.

This then moves it on over the weekend until at least Monday, which is basically .15 BTC lost (3 days mining).

i think its called
Life mate
im in the same boat / plane as you and a lot of other miners are

Well yeah I know that, have others hashing anyway and this was nice and cheap so..

I just heard rumours of UPS providing compensation for late deliveries that was all, but then I guess that would be like getting blood out of a stone Tongue
i think the only one to get anything would be the shipper and not us

True. Ups consider shipper as a customers not recipients.
yep so BITMAIN wins again

okay just a long shot here.

Try changing the DNS address's listed in the connection, don't use the reouter default. Use 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
this might solve your problem if you are connecting via cable?

I tried to open up the config file but I get something like this:

~
~
~
~
~
~

and nothing else.
So how can I edit something that is not there?

BTW the miner is connected directly to the modem via cable.

that because you are not editing the correct file
you get that when you open a NEW file

you need to make sure that you are in the correct folder

Ok, I understand. How do I get to the correct folder?

Use comand cd
Cd  /etc/init.d/

Then vi /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh

there is ow .sh at the end of the file
it just cgminer

Now it is friday afternoon in china. Have anybody got a news from Bitmain about shippment prior to new year?

just checked my order that i made yesterday
and its still saying unshipped

Can't you just explain to me how to use Putty and modify the file I want to modify? Smiley

I basically need to do exactly what the pdf says I should do as I keep getting the NTPD error in my system log and the machine is not mining.
it would be a lot easier to let someone like  elastickband connect to your computer and set it up for you.
if you make a mistake you might not be bale to fix it
1676  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 24, 2014, 08:51:52 AM
are you attempting OC?

You have had the miner working without?

No OC, I am not planning on overclocking.

I need to modify a file in order to bypass the NTPD error as described here Page 2: https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/blob/master/manual/AntMiner%20FAQ.pdf

you need to use a program called putty
if you are stuck i can help you out

I just took a look at my order status, and it says unpaid and expired. I paid right away (within the hour) and the transaction has 6 confirmations. Does the payment need to be verified manually by Bitmain before it shows as paid, or is there a problem with my order?

when i did nine it went
unpaid

to
paying

to
paid

all with in 10 mins

Great, now I'm worried. Was that for the order you placed earlier today?

Guess I'll try contacting them.  Undecided
yes

Pay   1.9 BTC
Pay Confirm   1.9 BTC
Date   2014-01-23 12:55:29
UK Time

Thanks for confirming. That would place your payment time at 9:55PM in China, where as my order was paid at 12:31AM Chinese time. Maybe that has something to do with it.  Huh

Just sent them an email at webmaster@bitmaintech.com

may be
but you would of thought that BITMAIN would of posted a note about order cut off times / dates !!!!!!
