1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling scenario that keeps repeating on you on: August 07, 2023, 05:16:14 PM
I don't know what is it with even numbers and '00s, but a lot of people seem to rush whatever their means of getting some money are in order to reach this 'milestone.'

I think a lot of people are also doing this, so you're probably not one in getting this exact same scenario. I have my fair share of this, though I usually do it to 'reduce' my balance to a number I can easily recall for the next time I play, I know how much I need to add to my balance to keep my budget intact. It's a very weird way of chasing the even numbers or '00s, but I do feel your sentiment regarding it.
1662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 07, 2023, 03:54:17 PM
I rarely win, though it still got me 'hooked' before in gambling. It doesn't matter what outcome it is that you get in gambling - you will always get hooked to it if you are really inclined to gamble.

I think you alreay win at some point even rarely that’s why you are still coming back to play despite your bad experience.

What made me hooked is the idea that time passes by so fast whenever I play. It's not necessarily me winning or losing anything, but just the overall experience that I have in the casino - with dice specifically. I don't mind losing or winning, really. The money that I am using to gamble isn't something that would hurt the bank. It's just that the hours that I would do nothing, I diverted into something else that I find entertaining.
1663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Technology is Changing Sports Betting on: August 07, 2023, 03:37:46 PM
I don't get why a lot of people are really amazed on how AIs can do things. Without human touch and input, AIs will not function to a human's liking and would be more of a liability than a tool. In sports betting, those who are versed in the game are more likely to do better decision-making than an AI who can only crunch numbers that is fed on to it by a human or another machine. AIs can do a lot of cool things in terms of automated betting, but I wouldn't depend on it 100% to bet on my behalf in sports.
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 07, 2023, 02:34:36 PM
People who have addictive tendencies will always have that "one more" mindset in them thinking that if they continue what they're doing, they're going to get a positive outcome if they dig deeper, or in this case play more. Be it a win or lose, gambling addicts will always see something out of reason to justify their actions. They'll even call it fate for the to win or destiny or whatever it is that you call it.

I rarely win, though it still got me 'hooked' before in gambling. It doesn't matter what outcome it is that you get in gambling - you will always get hooked to it if you are really inclined to gamble.

I agree.
1667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A advise to my friend about his decision on: August 07, 2023, 10:50:22 AM

Honestly, Bitcoin is not a new word to the world, and I believe that a lot of people should get aware of it, especially educated people who are using the internet, like social media, because hardly you get to one or two social media that you will not see the logo of Bitcoin people discussing the market price of Bitcoin, so I believe the Bitcoin name is painted all over social media and everywhere, but I will not be surprised if you say that your friend is ignorant of Bitcoin; it is possible.

It is not a new thing that people who are ignorant of Bitcoin are rejecting it and are not willing to learn about it. If your friend truly rejected bitcoin, I will say nothing that ignorance can't turn people into, so if someone is ignorant, it can be stupid with any decision it may make at that point of having no knowledge. I will say you have played a big role by enlightening your friend about Bitcoin and making him accept it.
Few years back it was really hard to find something relative to bitcoin, but things have changed alot and it had turned to be very common. By this time people lacking information is really bad. Searching Google itself gives the best results and better understanding about bitcoin. Anyhow OP had done a good work which had helped his friend consoled.

People could've heard much about bitcoin, but very few explore and understand what is it. Even the technically knowledged and people working at information technology doesn't know about bitcoin. This is all because of the lack of awareness and the promotion. With time changes and understanding will be good with the people as the widespread continues.

With the development and complete information on the internet.  in that case, if I receive a gift from but I don't know what it is, I will immediately look up its information on the internet instead of getting angry. It's hard to understand his friend's actions. Or is this just an untrue story?  it is also really hard for me to believe this story because bitcoin is no longer a strange thing for everyone.  It is true that many people have yet to invest in bitcoin but that does not mean they do not know about it.

It is pretty hard to understand OP's friend's reaction with our perspective and knowledge about btc. However, we cannot take that from them as sometimes due to heightening emotions we cannot control our thoughts and reactions. Perhaps, the friend was already expecting and hoping for a big sum of money and properties to inherit and his expectations were not met when btc was mentioned, hence the reaction of the friend. Let us not invalidate the story as we do not know the full context. Additionally, believe me or not I still know a number of people who have no idea what bitcoin is, yes they have heard the term but have zero idea what it is about entirely.
1668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin recover even if it fell to one dollar? on: August 07, 2023, 10:26:42 AM
I think it will not happen, usually I don't like to think about something that worthless. I prefer like to enjoy the current situation which is very good. rather than being afraid or doubt about something is not real and only make me waste my time and opportunity, I think it will be better if I am focus to the next halving event that will be happen soon. I need to accumulate more bitcoin so I can maximize the opportunity to gain profit.

Good point here. I mean it is highly impossible for it to happen so why bother and waste time and effort into thinking about such a thing, right? Instead, it is truly better to just spend those time and effort on maximizing what we have and turning that into opportunities to gain profit and attain financial freedom. However, I do get where OP is coming from as sometimes it makes you wonder about those things, but it really isn't worth pondering over.
1669  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you will never become rich on: August 07, 2023, 10:04:59 AM
And I want to ask you one thing, did you become rich after getting rid of your family and after you knew how to use money? I don't know what family relationship you're talking about, if it's between your siblings, your spouse, your parents, and your loved ones. I would object to your first reason. Because we work hard, finding ways to be financially free is also taking care of them, not just ourselves. Furthermore, without those people, I bet you wouldn't be where you are today, so it's not right to consider them a burden. It's a responsibility that everyone has to shoulder, you can't selfishly deny them. Many people can still become rich but still be with their loved ones, so I disagree with your reasoning.

You made a perfect point with the question you asked in your first statement but reading further you mix things together. Aside those you mentioned, is there any other categories of people consider as family? Well, just like you said, we want money not just for ourselves but to also look after our loved ones is absolutely true but saying it's a responsibility to shoulder is the area I disagree with you. Taking family responsibility is good thou but overdoing it beyond your capacity is dangerous. If I understand correctly, OP is not against taking such responsibility but saying that you should first of all fight for financial freedom.

You'll not grow financially if you emphasize on family responsibility than investment. When you invest rightly, responsibility will be taken care of when the fruit is riped. Financial freedom is what comes first before family responsibility and again do not allow your family to depend on you, if you have means find them alternative to be making money on their own.

Let's just put it this way, do not indulge yourself too much on family responsibility if you are struggling for financial freedom yourself. That will leave you with nothing. Where will you even get money to help your loved ones if you yourself is struggling. It's true, there is no need in any ridiculousness to get rid of family. But, responsibilities? Do not dive yourself in that or any situation that will force you to have that without attaining financial freedom first, cause it will only be hard for you and the people depending on you.
1670  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic problem, why is fiat difficult to hold. on: August 07, 2023, 09:48:10 AM
Overtime the situation is getting worse and not getting better with time. It is known around the world that inflation had hit hard and there is need of additional sources to meet up the daily needs and have better savings. In such situation what is happening around is the layoffs and I job cuts which will make the common man suffer much.

It all depends on the individual as well as the corporate network, because to the rising inflation there should be compensation in the salary package. When this isn't availed people look for the better opportunity to make life better with the minimum resource available. This is why it is difficult to hold fiat against cryptocurrencies.
It has become incredibly difficult to live in my country due to the fact that wages do not keep up with the level of inflationary risks. Prices in stores rise several times a year, and salary indexation occurs at most once every few years. This is such a misfortune that sometimes you want to escape from the country and never return again, because. I don't have the strength to endure this anymore.
I decided to find a few more sources of income in order to somehow compensate for the level of inflation.

In addition, it becomes scary that forecasts predict only worsening of the situation many times over. Devaluation risks are also very strong, which have a detrimental effect on the general standard of living of all citizens, except for the ruling class.

I agree and see these things happening with me too. Despite having various sources of income you can feel the inflation everywhere. From the bills down to grocery, you can see just how much your income cannot keep up with them. Moreover, aside from inflation, the state of the country in terms of weather and environment is not helping as it drives you to spend your money towards safety needs.
1671  Economy / Economics / Re: The American Dream. What is Your Country's Version of it? on: August 07, 2023, 09:21:29 AM
Since I was born, I have never heard anything like a country dream. We only have personal goals and aspirations. Which goes something like this, the parents make all the sacrifices to raise the kids and put them through school, the kids go to school, graduate, get a well paying job with job security, and should be able to return the favour by caring for their parents who are now aged and their younger siblings (if any). Note that the last statement is what we look forward to. This is sort of our version of the American dream. Unfortunately, it's getting difficult to achieve due to economic set backs. When these kids graduate from university they may wait for up to 5 years to get a job and within this time they are most likely to still be dependent on their parents who are already getting old. If you ever wondered why Nigeria is top 10 in countries when Bitcoin is talked about, that's one of the reasons right there.

In contrast to this, I noticed in my country kids are getting more and more aggressive towards financial independence meaning teenagers are now more focused in earning a better life for themselves. More and more are moving out of their parents' homes and are finding ways to earn for themselves. Perhaps it really is different in different countries.
1672  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: August 07, 2023, 09:06:18 AM
Yes that's correct dude, there are other people remain happy even they don't have enough money just like the other have a lot of it. Because for them money can't buy it. Perhaps, money is their only second option of happiness. Although, majority are are focusing themselves to gain a lot of money to bring happiness for them.

Actually sometimes, if we focus to much about money,  we didn't notice to ourselves that become greed and controlled by money in which is not a good thing either.

It's true that everyone has their own perspective on how to enjoy their life, that to achieve happiness for them is not always rewarded with money, they can even get it from other things, such as having a family that understands one another. And I also agree with what you said there are some people who focus too much on their money so they become greedy and can't respect other people because they think they can do it with their money.

Hence this is why we need to have and know balance. Sometimes we let our feelings towards our family and loved ones control our decisions too much that it leaves us financially indebted, while other times we let ourselves be too greedy and only focus on where and how we can get more money that we fail to see that we are losing connection and time with our family and loved ones. With proper balance we can achieve both.
1673  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 07, 2023, 08:50:45 AM
I think on the current situation of things across the globe, I would sincerely advise parents should give birth to a number of kids they can bring up in consonance with their income.
Because as an average income earner, you shouldn't give birth to children you cannot feed or take good care of.
gone are those days you need people to help work in your farm as parents.
Today, you have to spend money on school fees, clothing, electricity bills, feeding until they are up to an age to start staying on their own.
I feel rich people, can afford to give birth to as many as they want because the economy favours them.
Agreed, the global situation need to be considered before giving birth to a child. It isn't a task that could end in a short time period. Growing a child requires additional earning, compared to the past there is good awareness around and people have been giving birth accordingly. In my country the number of child have reduced to two and over time this could move to one as the parents are thinking wise and doesn't want their child to suffer. In the past the children grew by their own and now those opportunities have shrunk due to the difference in the parenting. Everything is on a cyclic process, and things could take a change with time.

I completely agree with this thought and advice. If we cannot take care of them and give them a full life, then it is best not to give birth to them. Things have changed a lot and not having money these days is a very terrible thing. Don't compare our generation with our parents' generation, they didn't have many diseases in their time and could still live without much money by raising livestock and farming. But today, there are too many things to worry about when the weather is getting more and more severe, everything requires money...The birth of a child should be carefully considered to suit the family's economic situation.

I couldn't agree more. I always say this and I think it is very important to emphasize that giving birth to child with poor economy and environment does not just bad for the parents but also to the child. Long gone are the times when it is okay to have birth and see where everything goes. Today, family planning is vital to ensure the child and the family's future.
1674  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian ruble is scam on: August 07, 2023, 08:34:58 AM
Financial problems that occur with Ruble also occur a lot with other countries, but I'm sure that the Russian government will do everything to be able to make Rubles normal again, and we who hold Rubles don't worry because everything will get better soon.
Not really, other countries don't start invading neighboring countries and face sanctions that destroy their economy. Yes, they will do everything in their power but I am sure that most Russians will have to suffer from the currency devaluing. Regarding getting better, if the war continues, I don't think that being better is going to come to the citizens soon. Putin wants to absorb Ukraine so I am sure that he will do everything to do that including facing another default.

I agree with you. With the way things are going right now and how Putin is acting, wanting so absorb Ukraine badly, it will take for some time for everything to be better for the citizens. The effects of what happened cannot just be shoved back and act as if nothing happened, like everything can go back to the way it used to be in a snap. It will take years for everything to go back to normal, not even better.
1675  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why don't land-based casinos have an online version? on: August 06, 2023, 11:38:18 PM
Why would they if they are already getting more than enough money from their patrons that visit their physical casinos? It would just be something that will take resources from them. Plus, usually these physical casino owners have other businesses that are tied to their casinos like hotels and restaurants, so they are hitting a lot of birds in just one stone. Their online presence would be limited to just their advertisements and promotions, and that's basically it. Taking a lot of energy, resources, and time to develop an online copy of what is already physically existing is just a waste of everything.

Besides, why would they want to limit the experience and feel of their physical casino if that's the one thing that people are traveling and visiting them for?
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 06, 2023, 11:04:16 PM
Drake threw $250,000 on Nate Diaz to beat Jake Paul with 4 to 1 odds. I think he’s probably just hoping to get himself a million dollar payout and didn’t see much gain in betting on Jake Paul. While this does make me think maybe Jake isn’t the sure thing I think he is, it’s not enough to get me to follow him. I still say Jake wins by stoppage.

We all know that Drake loves to throw money on bets that usually doesn't make sense, because he has the capacity to just bet on whoever he likes at the bout. Jake is a decent boxer. Not particularly good, but can throw some decent punches and has a good stamina. If this fight goes the distance, he'd probably win against Nate. But if Jake couldn't really handle the punches Nate is throwing at him, this is a $1m payout for Drake. Stamina-wise, Jake is the better choice. Though in punching power and overall ability to create space and close it, Nate should do this quite easily.

Well in this case, for the first time I am routing for Drake, haha.
4:1 seems quite high for Nate Diaz, he is definitely able to beat JP. He just needs to watch out for the hard punches. If he controls the tempo and follows his game plan there is a good chance to be victorious.

I just hope it's not a rigged fight. With all these "exhibitions" you never know these days.

Seems like it is. There doesn't seem to be any indication that Nate tried to win. Nevertheless, two different fighting disciplines, two different techniques. Jake is the better boxer, but that doesn't mean he's the better fighter. Unanimous decision means that Nate is ready to take the hits, and he's just not really that trained so much in boxing.

I feel sorry for Drake, but what's $250,000 for a multi-millionaire anyway?

Much longer fight than I expected and maybe this was strategy used by both fighters.
Now I see Jake Paul saying he seriously wants to transition to MMA, and Nate Diaz is asking for MMA rematch.
This sounds to me like to much coincidence, but I would give advantage to Nate Diaz in potential MMA fight.
After thar I think it is time for him to finally retire, he is getting older, his face is already ruined, and I wont say anything about his brain.

Nate will have an edge if Jake Paul agrees to an MMA match he has Juijitsu and grappling skills something that will surprise Jake, its better if Jake agrees to do an MMA once so he'll know if he has a chance in MMA against a real MMA fighter people will soon get enough to see him fight old MMA fighters, he'll have to do transition to other combat sports or starts fighting real boxers, he is getting better in boxing we may soon find him in the top 10.

If Jake transitioned into MMA, he'd be surprised on how well even the leanest fighters can hold and grapple against huge guys. I've seen Asian guys grappled the hell out of muscular men lots of times to the point of submission, and Jake would not be ready to be in that field unless he dedicates the next year or so of his life in purely practicing grappling and getting out of it.
1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 06, 2023, 10:35:23 PM
A Casimero fight might be inviting for some promoters, but totally not going to be the highlight. There are still some great challengers out there that might eye on the title that Inoue currently holds. It's possible that Inoue eyes for another belt and just vacate it once the ruling bodies ordered him to do so. He's just going to prove that he's the best fighter in that division before probably moving up and challenging the reigning champions there. Right now, he's the hottest boxer that a lot of people are looking at, and there's countless opportunities for him to go against other boxers and he'll never run out of offers, that's for sure.

Their decision can always change in any given moment and time because considering that Naoya Inoue is now 30 years old, there might be changes in his weight which will become a factor of a possible climb towards the next weight class. The only thing that they are giving a priority right now is a fight with Marlon Tapales for the undisputed champion. After that, there is no telling what will happen and a few title defense might not happen as well considering the factors I've mentioned above.

With the way Inoue's camp is handling his career, I'm almost certain that after a win against Tapales, they're ready to take the next step and jump another weight class. He's primed to get several weight classes and he's being groomed to be the next Manny Pacquiao, at least in climbing several ladders and being the top of the chain on each of them. Even at 30 years old, Inoue's speed and power is still impeccable, that even Stephen Fulton, a man quite known for having a strong chin, drops after receiving one hook from the Japanese boxer.

He's going to go a lot more places than where's he's at right now and I'm certain of it.

Basing up on the behavior specially on trying out to take those belts from Fulton despite of jumping into higher weight division then we can safely tell or say he would definitely be rushing up on taking different divisions on
which i do have a feeling that he would be thriving that kind of particular goals but of course in speaking about being undisputed then for sure he would really be doing that specially with this new weight division
which fighting up Tapales would be the only way on doing so knowing that the other two belts had been held by Tapales. It would really be just normal that Inoue would really be having this kind of approach.
On the time that he would really be able to get those all belts then just like into his previous weight division then i wont really be shocked if he would be making up some another step.
He's now 30 and he had only a decade on trying out on achieving something. Therefore, this would be some sort of fast pace on trying out to dominate certain divisions.

Inoue is like a completionist in a video game: taking up every possible achievement there is before moving on to the next. I'm sure his camp would also want that to happen, and to also prepare him for the next weight up. Sort of like defeating the last boss on every floor before moving on to the next level. They wouldn't want their champion to experience defeat by not being prepared for the said weight class, so they'd farm a lot of experience and study their opponents before taking the fight head on.
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 06, 2023, 09:55:25 PM
Sorry but I am biased with the Philippines yeah I really don't want to be regarding that this is a Sport where everything can surely happen but As I watch the games of the Philippines against Iran I was quite amazed at what the Philippines can do now on what I remember back then here is the video of the friendly match for the Philippines VS Iran https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbDGSnED7ZA

And against Senegal, I really think that the Philippines did great in this match and this is without Kai Sotto, Jordan Clarkson, and Scottie Thompson, pretty much the Philippines team is making progress in their training for sure they will make a big impact when Kai Sotto, Jordan Clarkson would play with them, here is the Philippines VS Senegal game, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdIux7z8r3w

I read through this entire thread and honestly was trying to see what this tourney was all about.  Was shocked to see Jordan Clarkson plays for the Philippines.  Has he always played for them in international play?  I'm a huge fan of his play in the NBA but just always thought he was of US dissent. He reminds me of Lou Williams career.  6th man type but who.could star on a younger type team.

He doesn't always play for the Philippines though at this time, he chose to represent the country. He's a Filipino-American, so he always has the choice to represent the Philippines in international games if he likes to. Lots of good players in the Philippine team right now, though hopefully they climb up the ladder and managed to get some good games. Spain is really terrifying so far that even Team USA cannot edge against them in terms of points.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 06, 2023, 07:09:05 PM
Hopefully that will be the case for Inoue, stay at the top of 122 lbs division for at least to defend the belt. The problem though if by chance Inoue had all the belts in this division, sanctioning bodies are going to have their mandatory. So it's very hard to defend all the belts that he had that he will have to vacant some of it and then defend either 1 or 2 belts only. And if he doesn't want to, then he can go up in the next weight class and for sure, that's one option as well that he and his team is looking for. So maybe a Casimero fight, as much as we want to see it, the chance are very slim, just saying.

A Casimero fight might be inviting for some promoters, but totally not going to be the highlight. There are still some great challengers out there that might eye on the title that Inoue currently holds. It's possible that Inoue eyes for another belt and just vacate it once the ruling bodies ordered him to do so.
