Settings for CGMiner:
-v 2 -w 256 -g 4 -k phatk -I 8 --gpu-memclock 300 --temp-target 65 --auto-fan
Where do I input these? Specifically the -v 2 -w 256? This is what I was looking for in the first place..... You could do it by opening a command prompt and pasting those in after cgminer.exe, but the cleaner thing to do is open up 'example.conf' with notepad, and modify the values to suit you. It is somewhat difficult to edit because it has such strict requirements on syntax, but once you get it right all you need is a shortcut to cgminer.exe in your startup folder. (After renaming example.conf to cgminer.conf of course) Then, it will auto load the config values from the file, with no need to pass any arguments or anything. I have written my config file.....I just cannot for the LIFE of me figure out where to put the -v -w 256. I feel like a complete idiot.

How much OC and aggression do you need for these to reach the 200Mh+..?
My stock speed 5770 does 172 MH/s on an old guiminer with f 128.... so probably not much. this. Very little. It has been so long since I used these, I cannot remember exactly. Any idea on power usage? Unfortunately no.....but I would ballpark it at about half of a 6970?

These are great cards.....have sold a few on here before. Good for 200+ MH/s, and are compact for the space constrained. They are practically new, having only been used for about 6 weeks. They are identical to this: http://skinflint.co.uk/628512I will sell them for 12 BTC each, or all 4 for 45 BTC

HAve a look here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg688286#msg688286You can just copy a BIN file generated with the old opencl DLL to cgminers folder. I can send you the BIN file for SDK 2.5. That gives me ~455 MH at 1GHz. That way you dont even have to downgrade your drivers. You will have to repeat this step if you ever reinstall cgminer, and possibly if you tweak settings like -V since the BIN file is generated by the opencl sdk that you have installed (which is 2.6 for you now, and it sucks). Please.....I would love to try it

You want 11.9 and SDK 2.5 (or 2.4 maybe). You cant just downgrade though, you have to manually remove the dll, and delete the .bin file in cgminer. There is like a million posts on that on this forum.
Your saying I need the CCC 11.9?

You need to be on the latest drivers and SDK2.1 I can send you the install msi for the SDK 2.1 only if you like. I have it for windows 7 64 and xp 32.
Trying this.....stand by. If it works, you get the bounty.

Default settings will give you ~435MH at 950. Your problem is drivers and SDK. Which are you using and what OS?
win 7 64bit sdk v2? driver is 8.930.0.0

Which CGminer version are you using? I noticed performance drop in the last 2 releases. I got exactly the same setup (2x5870) and ver. 2.2.0 works well for me.
2.2.3 I would like to try the -v 2 solution first......any help on that end?

Updated to add a bounty. First person to help me successfully takes it!

Can anyone give me a quick assist on how to maximize my 5870's with CGminer?
I am currently getting 390 MH/s at 950/300. I understand if I get the settings perfected I can push 450.
Can someone help me with how to set the worksize to 256 and use the -v 2 flag?
Thanks!

Yeah that is weird. That PSU is horrible though. It is "ugly" because it only has 750W but it has that broken into 4 different 12V rails. Each rail only has 20A. =240W which is right at what a 5970 needs. It could be starved for power. Have you underclocked the memory (at least down to 300) that will reduce wattage somewhat? http://www.rosewill.com/products/698/productDetail.htmThe only other thing to try is use 1 power cable for each rail. That way 2 rails are powering the same card. Finding out which cable is on which rail for a PSU like that is tough so you can just try to change the plugs around. Generally for a 5970 a PSU which either has 1 massive 12V or a few large rails makes power management easier. SO when I go to buy additional PSU's for expansion and replacement, should I be shooting for single 12V rails with 50A+? Or should I go for 2 rails with 25A each? <3 single rail. Since you don't seem to be worried by power usage, 80Plus Gold might not appeal to you, but they are well built in any case. Weigh the costs out. I am tired and not good with lingo.....are you saying less than 3 rails? or are you "hearting" a single rail? Regardless, thank you for the help. Hehe, sorry, that was supposed to be a heart. I'll go to sleep now. Lol.....thanks man. I will be looking for some solid single rail PSU's now. I imagine that is what is holding me back from hitting the "magic" 700 MH/s on all of my 5970's. I wish I knew that before I bought so many of the Rosewill PSU's with 4 rails.

no reason to wait.. a 5970 is a 750Mh card. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) <pedant> 800Mh Stable@800Mhz overclock </pedant> I have over 20 of these... at 820/300 they get a solid 373 per core... Please show us pics of 800Mh getting 400......stable What are you using for this? I use GUIminer with afterburner, and I cannot seem to get more than 315-320 per core.

Does anybody have any info on that company and the people behind? Doesn't the company have a publicly listed director? Why the secrecy about the last name (K)? I am a bit unfamiliar with the US system, but is there no company report available online?
I apologize if this was already covered in one of the previous threads on BFL, I only read this one.
Yeah it was covered but the threads are way to long and have been trolled to hard for any sane person to read. They claim to be a company but have not given any evidence to support this. They claim to have registered online in the state of Wyoming as a company but this can not be verified. Many of their claims like being Incorporated are just flat out lies. So it doesn't really help that the registered agent resigned a few days ago and the RA status is now listed as 'Delinquent' at the Wyoming business registry? Oh boy......

Nice. Well, whoever builds a supercomputer that uses Radeon's instead of Teslas will probably see a surge of new users. 120MH/s is not much for 2 highly expensive Teslas. I am pulling 380Mh/s with my Radeon 6000 series on my home computer.
so true. I imagine if Amazon ever offers Radeon clusters, there will be a lot of interested users.

I am mining in the cloud. Set up a EC2 instance with 2 Tesla GPU's.
Pulling 120 MH/s.
I know this is losing money, but I just wanted to set it up for fun. Pretty cool stuff.
