1701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: August 06, 2023, 10:44:25 AM
~

Odds that are so rounded like that 10.0 always look a bit suspicious to me. It's like they know it's off, but they don't know exactly how unlikely that event is, so they put a round number, like 10 in this case.

The closer it is to actually happen, the more detail they add, like Biden and Trump odds in this case for example.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's not like this: "Just some bloke hired to do the job, to set the odds as he sees fit. Robert Kennedy? OK, I'll make them odds rounded for him, like 10.00, just for the fun of it. Let's see what happens." No. No way it's like that. The odds are set by an algorithm that takes into account how much money was bet on this or that candidate. Those "10.00" was just a coincidence. It's just so happened that they were exactly 10.00 that day I took the screenshot. Actually, on the same platform they are different now:

See?

~

To be honest, there is a very real possibility of Trump getting elected again.
People thought that Trump running for president was a joke, and he winning was even a bigger joke. But it happened and it can happen again.

There are bettors who count on it, though, in my personal opinion Trump's chances of winning could decrease as he moves from the Republican inner struggle for power towards a general election where more moderate people participate.

I am curious what would happen to his odds if he ends up running from prison.

His odds will be 20.00 then, I predict. Smiley

~
They can't really comment on that as majority see him more fit then trump. Haters are just going to hate and obviously keep seeing him unfit. I find it weird that there are young, and actually capable people in US then any of the favorites. Pete Buttigieg for example would be highly capable presidental candinate. He is smart and quick as hell. But people keep voting for dinoraurs for some reason.

They may have their reasons, but for us here that is of minor importance. What's important is to decide whose chances of being elected are the best.

~

Why are you angrily forcing people to bet on Trump? No one in this thread knows anything better than what we read from the news and speculate what might really be happening. Also, the smart bettors would only place their bets after each of the political parties have declared their nominees. Trump presently with those odds is certainly not a very good bet considering that he is also being indicted with various cases.

You are joking, right? Smiley I'm not. I'm definitely not forcing anyone to bet on Trump.

.

Today I played Exanson! by Betsoft on Roobet and I won 6x of my $0.30 bet

Have not play this one since , but maybe I will consider looking into it as there might be a luck waiting for me because the time I enjoyed sportsbetting , I almost forgot Slots and other favorite game from the past.

don't feel bad for it mate because it is still x6 so you are given another 6 chances of winning (if you are staying in that amount of roll)

No, no, I'm not feeling bad in the slightest. Win is a win.

Btw, have you tried The Roo House by Pragmatic Play? I just played it today for several times because I like trying out exclusive slots. Always expect expect a pleasant surprise from the house on those. Smiley

This time my biggest win was around 4x of my bet, but I'm sure it's capable of much more than that. Does it deliver more than the legendary Dog House by Pragmatic Play? What's your experience, guys?
1704  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: August 05, 2023, 10:12:56 AM
<...>

Hey you, the one who's running multiple companies, you should get your head out of your ass, and fuck off with your bankruptcy bullshit.

Actually, what he explains about company bankruptcies is well explained, what I don't know is where he gets that Betnomi has gone bankrupt. It looks like an exit scam and I don't see anything to indicate that they have declared bankruptcy.
~

If such a large site like Betnomi goes bankrupt, it's in the News, right? And I'm following the news regarding Betnomi, and there was no such news, including today.

If someone knows more, please tell us here. In the posts above I still see no evidence of their bankruptcy or exit scam. I believe that it can take longer than we expected, but they will be back and we'll be playing poker on their amazing platform.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: August 05, 2023, 09:38:42 AM
~snip~
Yes, with 500 to 1 I would place a $1 bet on Trump, for sure. Other than that, like 3.05 as it is now on most sites, no way. I think that the reason for so many people betting on Trump around the world is their local propaganda saying to them that "Biden is very unpopular" and stuff like that. They will lose their bets and they can thank their telly for that.

I don't think it will ever get to 500 to 1, I reckon about half of the voting people in the US are going to go for Trump. It seems like he has a massive following, at least similar to when he won.

In a way the whole prosecution against him kinda makes it more interesting for people, it's like a nice story that people want to be a part of.

Yeah, but, do they really want to be responsible for electing someone like Trump for President of the United States? Some of them, yes, but most people use their head, fortunately. Even if they are Republicans, even if they used to support Trump in the past, thay are not going to support him now.

~

~ Well, things are currently Getting tough for Trump because the Classified and Nuclear files have put him in a very bad position, and this has made him Waste time dating and Different social media outlets are not Making him look very Well, I don't really know how biased the USA is towards those who have always Supported Trump, I don't know if his same political enemies are doing him harm or a favor on a political level, I don't know if this is so, in South America politics tends to be a bit more frontier and things are said at once, they are not so rollicking, but I see that politics in the USA is managed through a lot of power, accusation systems in court, demands that act at once to prosecute, of many things that can put anyone in trouble.
~

Exactly. People watch TV, they following the news, don't they. His indictment contains four counts: "conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights."  Who wants to have such a president?
1706  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: August 05, 2023, 09:02:51 AM
I presume that the rich loss more in gambling than the poor. ~
Most likely they do. But if a millionaire loses $10k to gambling it is not as painful to him as for a poor man to lose $100. And this is very important to understand. Rich or poor, you should only stake what you can afford to lose. I hope some poor people who want to get rich through gambling read my post and drop the idea. Buy a $2 lottery ticket if you want to have that hope in your heart, but don't put dozens of USD at risk.
I don't think it's like that, Rich people also lose a lot of money, I assume they use $10k as their base bet most of the time, and I also think that there are rich gambling addicts too who don't stop gambling at all and lose a lot of their wealth in it. We've always heard of stories where rich people gambled away everything they had, including their home and every other property, and now they have nowhere to go, so it happens with the rich too but it depends on their situation and condition.

And I'm not arguing with that. Some rich people do lose a lot of money, and they can't afford that either. There are gambling addicts among them, no doubt about that. I just wanted to draw attention to this dangerous way of thinking: "Today I lost $1k, but there are a lot of people among the high rollers who lost about the same amount. So, no big deal, right". It is a big deal for you, mate, f you are not a millionaire.
1707  Economy / Economics / Re: Methods to cut food costs on: August 05, 2023, 08:31:25 AM
Coupons and promo codes
Am I the only one who hates those? We've had "bonus cards" for years, and once in a while coupons to use or stickers to collect. Now more and more supermarkets are switching to apps to give you discounts spy on you and give you notifications. I really hate the fact that they overprice items, unless you join their marketing scheme that's designed to tie you to their shop.

This is what I've noticed too. In one supermarket you buy "3 bottles of oil for the price of 2", but in another one you see that those 3 bottles of oil can be bought for the same price without any discount. Indeed, it's often just a marketing scheme. It's often, but not always the case, fortunately. Especially in those high priced supermarkets that we normally avoid there could be real discounts, you just have to look for them. Don't buy Coca-Cola there, because it's the same Coca-Cola only costs more. But things like flour, some meat or fish when their expiration date nears, can be like 75% off, and if you cook them today, you can really cut your food costs with that.

1709  Economy / Economics / Re: The whales stirred. What should we expect? on: August 02, 2023, 09:37:03 AM
-snip-
We just cannot tell and they're the ones who would more likely determine their actions. Confusion would come from the idea that if these holders are still physically active and are still aware of any price movement then they should have sold with previous ATHs, but what happened is that movements occured during and after the market dip. Unless they are having higher hopes than us with regards to potential market price of Bitcoin in the future, then they are just holding and waiting for more things to happen in particular with the market price of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is still you right? And there's more to happen as well as improvements. Whales transferring their funds won't be really a big deal unless its effects are already visible among us.
I can consider that to be reasonable - it's because some of the old bitcoin owners want to sell it. But let's be honest - if they want to sell it now, then they are seriously missing out on their best chance of getting 2x higher returns by the end of 2021. Of course if that is compared to the returns they will get in 2023.

I don't have a different version - but so far I can only say this is normal. Bitcoin will still have high interest among its users - in fact I am totally convinced that there will be a big wave to come after the halving. I won't rush to conclusions - but I hope bitcoin will answer all people's doubts.

Selling big amounts now, if you don't need fiat urgently, is really dump. And I have a feeling that  that there aren't many dumb whales left at this point. Most of them sold their coins during previous crashes, from $70k to $16k, from $20k to $3k, or even earlier. So, I don't expect a massive sell out in the next few months. But after BTC reaches $150k, it will start happening, as it alaways does.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: August 02, 2023, 08:44:08 AM
If someone left their house open, and someone goes inside and steals something, it's stealing. Taking advantage of a bug to make money and trying to withdraw it is an attempt of stealing, no doubt about that.

That's right, if there is an open house, there is definitely a potential for theft. But if the bug is in the game and our winning is in the time the bug is running, maybe our money will be frozen. It's not about hacking, but bugs during the game. Well, when that happened, I thought it could be considered cheating by provider, that's why I said that instead of losing our chance to win from bugs because in the end the money was frozen, it's better to report maybe you can get a bigger reward. However, we ourselves are definitely not aware that bugs are happening in the game.

It depends. If you are playing a slot and suddenly get a bonus round without hitting the required number of scatters, you know it's a bug, right? And if you actually winning money with that, it's not a front end bug, rather, it's a bug definitely worth reporting. And the reward from the slot provider for reporting it should be substantial.
1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: August 02, 2023, 07:54:32 AM
   -       for you to get that amount gambling every day that is not possible. of course, let's just do a reality check. Also the house edge will not allow them to see that one of their players always wins 100$. a day at a casino, but if you look at it, it looks like they have a scholar student like that, but of course they don't. its just an illustration of mine.
~

You mean, the house won't allow someone winning $100 per day? Why do you think so? People are winning thousands, tens of thousands, and they withdraw their winnings without any problems. There are tons of examples of that. I'm sure in established and respected online casinos technically it's possible for a customer to be winning and withdrawing $100 every day. It's another thing that in reality it is very unlikely, but if someone is so lucky that he's winning such amounts every day, the house won't ban such a user.

1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: August 01, 2023, 12:40:54 PM
How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.

This always come from parents and wives. When you are still under the control of your parents and you are going to school (tertiary institution) and they know that you are gambling, they will threatened him to stop and if he will not stop then they will also stop paying his school fees and with that fear the person will limit his visiting time to the betting halls and hide himself to play gamble. I have not been threatened to stop gambling. And this threaten happened to those who always gamble. And not on the occasional gamblers.

Well, living for the money from your parents and gambling at the same time is a horrible thing to do. Same as when living from your wife's money(Don't tell me that there's no one, living from their wife's money). Gambling is an entertainment. An expensive one sometimes. Is it morally correct to spend someone else's money on your expensive whims? And I want to add that if you are earning money by yourself and you have small kids, it's their money too. Don't forget about that.
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: August 01, 2023, 12:19:05 PM

This is very interesting and important question. Although it is impossible in my opinion, let's suppose such an AI is created. An AI that can beat everyone at the table right away, without learning their play style and stuff for many hours. Since it will be available to everyone, no one will have an advantage, right? So, there will be no one who's winning all the time while others are losing. Everyone will be equal. But, knowing poker players, I'm pretty sure they will find a way to start beating those who use AI. It will be just a matter of time. It can take couple of months but not more than that. That's why online poker will always be an interesting game. Nothing can destroy it, neither ChatGpt, nor a strategy invented by a genius.

An AI can only replicate with their algorithm to understand how a human would react and decide while playing Poker. AI cannot beat a human unless the human shows it, which we have been doing since its launch. Every day the question we ask with an AI chatbot is helping its algorithm to improve itself. I imagine how much it might have learned by now and if everything goes right there would be a time when AI would rule gambling. Most probably they would control the house and make profits for the human who owns the platform.

I find it amazing that some people always think that some "evil and greedy house" will make itself earn even more with any new invention. Let's think about it, shall we? If the main goal for the house was taking as much money as possible from the customers each time they play, why would we have such a low house edge as 1% on some games? Why not like 20% instead? Why it's around 3% for online poker and not 30%? Maybe it's because you are not the only one providing a platform for playing poker games? Maybe because you have competitors, and people just can stop playing on your site?

Whatever AI can be used for in online poker, it's not for making the house earn more. That's what I'm sure of.
1717  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: August 01, 2023, 11:19:39 AM
~
I just remembered before that only few people or not really known to have 2 jobs at a time but right now most of the people I've known do this or having side hustle because they knew that their salary is not enough and also if they don't do it they don't have enough money. It is really a sacrifice, but it is still for our own good and for our family, so it is better to make this sacrifice than not do anything.

It shouldn't be like this. Two jobs is for 2 people, not one person. But there are times when we do things like that in order to survive. It's very important to not start drinking or do drugs out of desperation. Don't think it will be like this forever. Just carry on, and everything will change for better sooner than you think.
1718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: August 01, 2023, 10:41:58 AM
If you think of it, buying free spins is just like making higher bets. Once I won $200 with a $0.20 regular spin on a slot, and if I was betting with $20 at that moment, my profit would be $20k, right? Now, if I'd buy a bonus round for $20 back then and won $20k I would be confident that only buying free spins can provide you with such a win. This is what happens with some gamblers, and they spread the word and other people repeat after them.

I'm a bit confused by your point. Buying a buy bonus does not increase the bet, it only speeds up entering bonus mode, but must pay 100x the base bet. So, we pay that $20 is actually same as $0.2 per spin with 100 spins (without any win). so the matter of winning doesn't change, if from base bet $0.2 the rules if we get maxwin is $200, by buying bonus mode it will still be $200 not change to $20K.

Am I misunderstood what you mean?

I'm sorry that I wrote my post the way it could cause confusion. In short, what I meant was that bet is bet, regardless of what you are betting on. So, if you buy a round of free spins for $20, you are basically betting $20 hoping to win more money. Now, in the case when I won $200 with a $0.20 regular spin, I won 1,000x of my bet. It's an equivalent of $20k won from a $20 bet. And if I bought a bonus round for $20 and won $20k from that, I would be sure that only a bonus round can give such a win, while in fact I could just bet $20 without buying a bonus round and win the same $20k.

Correct me, guys, if I'm wrong here, but I think buying free spins isn't increasing your chance of hitting a jackpot. You have the same odds of hitting it with your regular spins, no?

Depends on what games you are playing because there are some games where it is impossible to hit big multiplier in normal spins such as Sweet Bonanza and its family members.

I didn't know that about Sweet Bonanza. I've been always wondering why I don't hit high multipliers on this slot with my regular spins. Now I know why! Thank you, @panjul07!

If you play such game, buying bonus is exactly increase your chance to win big than playing normal spins.
Buying bonus is simply an instant way to enter the bonus round, while playing normal spins may not give you guarantee entering the bonus round although you spend the same amount as the bonus buy cost.

By the way, I have just hit a close to max win in Gates of Heaven, anyone can watch the replay here https://replay.pragmaticplay.net/wHLqWogZrA
I was so confidence that it would hit max win because of the 500x and 250x wild multiplier, but it was not coming true as it stopped at x4575.
Not a huge win as it was with IDR 1,000 base bet only which gave me a win of IDR 4.5M or around $300.

Congrats! That's amazing, bro! What a win that is!

~snip~
Correct me, guys, if I'm wrong here, but I think buying free spins isn't increasing your chance of hitting a jackpot. You have the same odds of hitting it with your regular spins, no?

How can you buy something that is free though?.

Technically, you are right. But it's just called like that. Smiley
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: August 01, 2023, 10:07:12 AM
What religion?
What societies?
I don't know where you are from but in some parts of the world, women who gamble are seen as sinners and men, there, can' accept that a woman has the right to gamble and there is nothing wrong about it. I'm not talking about developing countries because in some developed countries men also think the same way. They can't accept the fact that a woman can afford to gamble and assume her responsibility when she loses.

Those are prejudices against women, and, truth to be told, modern educated women don't deserve such an attitude. In fact, some statistics show a completely different picture. This is how it is in the United States:

"Only 2.9 percent of women were found to be problem gamblers, compared to 4.2 percent of men. "
Source: https://fherehab.com/learning/gambling-addiction-men-women/

Probably in other countries it's the other way round, and the data compensate each other, and overall, I think, there's no difference between men and women in regards to gambling.
I also think it makes a no difference. There are only small differences in the perception of the game.Still, men more often than women place huge bets, after which you can lose everything or win a lot. Women prefer not to bet so much, the process itself and getting pleasure are important for them. Probably because their main task is not to win, but to have a good time, to get away from life's problems.
~

And that's an excellent approach to gambling. That's how it should be: for entertainment purposes. If all gamblers were like this, we wouldn't have such a term as "gambling addict" or "problem gambler".

Most women, same as most men, can gamble responsibly, and the notion that a woman can't  "assume her responsibility when she loses" is bs.

Here I found a list of Top 10 Casino Slot Streamers which includes Corinna Kopf ,Tyler Faraz Niknamm, Flávio Fernandes and many others.

Do you guys follow the casino streamers and are they fun to watch? Or do you think that playing casino slots yourself is more fun?

Playing casino slots yourself is definitely more fun, but I do watch those streamers from time to time. The thing is, I never win such big amounts myself, so I want to see someone winning them.

While these streamers may earn a good amount of money through streaming, they sometimes may become inspirational to the gamblers which may lead the normal gamblers to gamble more or become addicted too in some cases.

Thoughts Huh

These streams leading someone to gambling addiction sounds like drinking wine in movies makes people alcoholics. FFS, guys, just don't overuse it, and it'll make your lives better. Smiley
