An absolute fine example of how these matters should be dealt with. Thats what i call customer care.

[what happened] - [why it happened] - [what the resolution is]

Thankyoumuch.

At this point i would almost rather force him into bankruptcy than continue this charade... The MTGox BS sounds so close to what we have been dealing with but on an accelerated schedule. Makes me thinks I'm a fool for giving my continued trust.
Amen to that.

Does it have to be a game?

How about a vitual 3D community where i can walk down a virtual high st, and go into a virtual store that has actually been setup to sell real stuff, with the protocol being used as the backend of transactions.
How about, after ive chatted with the silver bullion store owner and maybe bought or sold something, i leave the store and walk down to Satoshi Sq where the exchange building sits. Maybe i need to exchange some alts, because on the way i was chatting to the news-stand guy (he asks for tips for breaking news), and he seems to think that AcmeCoin is due for a pump. I leave the exchange after getting my AcmeCoin, and notice a new games arcade has just opened up opposite the casino....... you get the picture.

Surely just a natural progression, using new decentralised technology/merchant systems, no?
1704  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: February 28, 2014, 09:22:22 AM
You couldn't make this made-up drama, up.

If i was to become a shareholder, can someone explain to me how to view the CEO, as someone who actually knows how to blow his nose correctly?
Moreover, is someone going to actually have a word in Garr's ear, and politely explain that there are people watching, that have lived 100 more lives than him, and can spot a bullshiting amutuer a mile off.

Post Gox.....enough of these opaque operations, already.

 Poloniex Exchange @Poloniex

Another XCP resync... XCP deposits and withdrawals delayed.

Ukyo truly is a sucker trying to be funny and smart but no one gives a fuck, give back our money and GTFO.

Ukyo was quite active on IRC yesterday. I think I missed the first part but this is what I got:
Code: (#bitfunder)
<[\\\]> des`: progress for whom? ;-)
<Ukyo> heh
<Ukyo> making progress all around
<Syloq> heh
<Ukyo> just wish there wasnt so much red tape
...
<Syloq> Ukyo, updates?
<Ukyo> heh
* Syloq asks expecting an ans...holy crap
<Syloq> I need my thousands of satoshi!
<Ukyo> thats what... 1 gox token?
<Ukyo> :P
<ThickAsThieves> was Bitfunder the first malleability victim?
<Ukyo> er
<Ukyo> bitfunder never touched bitcoins
<ThickAsThieves> oh you know what i mean!
<ThickAsThieves> weex
...
<the20year2> i didn't think it was amalleability issue, but a sql one
<the20year2> HTML/code wasn't disabled on support tickets for bitfunder/weex
<Ukyo> defenitely not the issue
<Ukyo> never had an issue of sql injection
Red tape-AKA-getting my bitcoin out of Gox.

Was listening to Charlie Shrem on LTB last night. What struck me was how much faith and belief the upper echelons still gave Gox/Mark K, by continuing to use/deposit/trade funds there. Lots of reflection going on at the mo with some movers and shakers out there, with regards to diligent judgement of risk. Reasonable judgement has been clouded for many, and im sure much self-flagellation will play out when they question why Mark's pedestal was so stupidly high.  Huh

Anyway, it seems inconceivable Ukyo did not have funds at Gox. So theres another excuse, right there.   Lips sealed
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin - coin for investors and traders on: February 25, 2014, 11:27:30 PM
can we get the coin added to coinmarketcap.com

Probably, but I personally feel it's a little too early, let's give it a couple of weeks, ideal time would be just as the supply runs dry.

mini update:
  • pot at 24, on target nicely to hit or break 100 this week
  • discussing wolf with some larger chinese investors I know and organizing translation
  • starting to be convinced I should iteratively develop insanitycoin with some very unique features to ensure longevity

tldr; feeling this coin may end up being my full time job for the next year or so
Think you might be on to something here.

Im thinking a suite of crazy/mad/stupid mini trading games. Havn't given it too much thought, but what sprung to mind was a kind of duck-shoot, where if you had control of a non sequential order execution book (e.g. crypto rush), you could 'shoot' at peoples orders in a pre-defined/announced range of price, possibly. Could even use a troll-box to announce. Be fun watching everyone shuffle their prices around hoping to get 'hit'.

I was thinking more along the lines of the first 3rd generation coin, why aim low with novelty stuff. How about mounting the whole thing on the www with a decentralized exchange running on top of blockchains, in browser mining, share mining pay walls, vote based distributed whaling where the wolf pack works as together with votes as a whale.. something a little more innovative. May as well raise the bar a little.. we don't want to be stuck in c++ clients forever do putting trust in exchanges all our life do we?

Wink
Well, that sounds like something the NXT platform/s could handle soon.  Wink

I'm sorry for everyone that lost in the bitfunder drama but it's time to move on.

Way too many unanswered questions, regards events, other peoples involvement, and resolution, for that to happen. Until theres some transparency regarding this, expect the foul smell to linger.

Take this discussion elsewhere.
Think people are past discussing it, and only a select few can make the increasingly pungent smell go away. As far as i can make out, its not going away soon.

BTW Respect to Danny and the NEOBEE team for reaching this milestone.

Was the merchant announced?

What is more interesting for now is the number of customers
that walked through the door and opened an account

Of course (especially with all these exchanges messing up like MtGox) but I am very curious about this!

Danny posted a few pages back:

Quote
We have also partnered with So Easy Stores, they have 41 locations on the island where people can buy anything you would purchase from a mini market. They will also enable people to buy Bitcoin though their Bee terminals and also sell bitcoins too. This has ensured our services are accessible from almost every city, town and village on the island.

Is this the 'merchant' ?....Idk
They have said about an international merchant (big name) in the past..

big name  a HUGE name  Wink

Theres still something to play for. You could bid for ~0.001 now, in the hope that the gathering interest all next week will create natural buying pressure on the order book. It happened last week, and no reason it wont happen again if you can hold for upto 7 days, then we repeat what just happened, anyway.

Its trading Jim, but not as we know it.  Tongue

1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin - coin for investors and traders on: February 23, 2014, 08:08:20 PM
you have to remember as long as you make back the 10% you lose and make another 1% on top you have beaten putting your money in a bank and waiting for interest.

you need to manage greed and patience and have a plan and an exit and a fall back (if you can) always when trading. i think the big spenders who put there faith in the dev have been rewarded nicely and all speculation about it being a scam is out the window! this is great fun and a great chance to earn if you can keep your cool!

prediction:- people will see its real, bitcoin deposits will probably double or treble what has been taken this week, making next sunday profits not as great as this time, and will probably follow suit up until the last week when it will be carnage!

this is great fun and by far the most fun ive had in a coin! well done dev!
Would like to know where the dev got the idea to trade, this way? Love the mind-game, of who jumps next, and how high.  Cool

I handled the metal version at the Amsterdam conference for a while (non working/software). Felt nice in the hand and didnt want to give it back!

Considering they seem to not be ready with the plastic cases, wish they would just satisfy the early plastic orders with metal ones instead.  Sad

update: 0.0001, 788964.4994 WOLF, 78.89644994 BTC temporary order placed so you can see funds are there, and this is happening
Its not beyond the realms of possibility, that a fat-finger could spoil proceedings, at that level.  Undecided

no, that's 10x more than all the WOLF in circulation, and 100x+ more than any single person holds. So a fat finger could at most take under 1% of the pot, and would raise the overall value of WOLF in the long term for holders. tldr; a fat finger would be good for everybody apart from one person Smiley
Gotcha.  Smiley

Thought provoking figures/math, in the context of tonight's event  Wink

Question:

How much do you think would a java based blockchain.info-like wallet for NXT cost to program? Do you think it would be worth to start a bounty for that?

Which part? Do you mean the iPhone mobile app? Or the website?

The part where blockchain.info works within you browser and no information leaves your browers, only the encrypted backup on your server. As i understand, we can now sign transactions without the client?

We basically need an online wallet WITHOUT trust.

How is that possible?

http://kryptokit.com/  ?
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxtopia -- a MMORPG built on-top of the NXT network on: February 19, 2014, 11:58:16 AM
I think the game angle is valid and a natural progression for virtual currencies on more than one level. But initially, i would like to see a virtual 3D high st. of vendors, exchange facilitators, service providers etc, that i can 'walk' into and interact and/or trade with, as well as other participants.

Stereotype, this is excellent stuff. Just based on my own experience, there should always be a 'game within a game'. In other words, if you wanted to be a merchant, you could always look for arbitrage opportunities on the asset exchange and chat in game with other vendors. Your hands would never have to lift a sword or dodge dragon fire. Stay comfy by the inn's hearth, striking deals and building your own little empire. Smiley
Sounds great.  Smiley Might even open a room out the back of the inn, for beer, hog roast, and wenches.....for a nxt fee, of course!

Last time i tried Second Life was years ago, so have no idea how doable or in-vogue this may be. Did they run into regulatory problems?
I just think it would serve the non gamers amongst us, and possibly offer an interesting slant for exchanging and moving value around, as well as exchanging information.
