I'm sure it's been suggested before, somewhere. But what about a wallet with 2fa?
For instance: when you install a wallet, you use google authentication to generate a key and that rolling key is linked to your wallet.
This way if someone steals a wallet, they would need the 2fa to install the wallet locally before they can transfer coins from that wallet.
If you lose your 2fa you would lose your wallet... If you lose your wallet, you lose your wallet.... What's the difference? Because with 2FA, peeps expect a reset to be able to be made. Which would be a false sense of security because with a decentralised space, you will have noone to go to. With 2fa, you have a recovery option. Just because you lose a phone with your 2fa, doesn't mean it's gone for good. My guess is you've never gone through that.True. Because I have a duplicate set-up on a second phone solely as a 2FA back-up.

My observation tells me, he is distancing himself ever-so slightly for some reason, and/or hedging his position with Counterparty, somewhat. His facial expressions when he says "other...."etc, seems to express slight pain. Like i said, just an observation.

Moolah/Ryan: "As a result of this, it is unlikely that anybody bar the Syscoin development team will ever receive any funds from the liquidation" Nicely done Sys-team. Good for you.

I think you know where I'm going with this.

guess what, a ton of people were selling coins on loan on Bitswamp (that is how they manipulated the price so low over the last 6 months) ... and now bitswamp has conveniently 'lost' coins ... i.e. the swamp is net short of coins.
go figure, it is not rocket science, someone has been selling non-existent coins and the swamp administered it. Good luck to anybody willing to deal with the swamp, you'll need it.
I never had much love for Bitstump after they told people "You remember those funds you sent us? We're going to need an identity theft kit from you if you want them back." IIRC, even Gox gave people fair warning. I was all done with exchanges before Bitstump came on-line so I was only watching from the sidelines. Lets not forget about their fee fraud ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=597647.0) and lying about producing financial audits every quarter (links down because of hack). Ive been asking for that completed financial audit for 3 months now. About 5 times now, with the last time just a few days ago. Just keep being fobbed off with "its in progress".

So it was true, still not a huge blow. Nejc handled it well. Hope they learn something out of it. Mind providing the source from where the statement initially came from? Stan Higgins @Coindesk

Its cool how you can leverage a negotiation to return dirty coins, by tagging/marking an address!

Don't panic, they are working on restoring the service and said the loss will be covered. I expect them to deal with the problem within 24h. https://twitter.com/bitstampWhere is that stated? Customer deposits made prior to January 5th, 2015 9:00 UTC are fully covered by Bitstamp’s reserves. Deposits made to newly issued addresses provided after January 5th, 2015 9:00 UTC can be honored. https://www.bitstamp.net/Yep, i read that, but i didn't interpret the statement, as covering fiat in the account. I spose it could. We will see very soon, i guess.
