1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 13 years ago Theymos sold 160btc at $0.003 per 1, lowest price ever recorded on: February 25, 2023, 05:11:44 AM
It's funny when many people say that if they had known about bitcoin earlier, they would have invested and kept it till now.

Yea — we all know a huge percentage of those people will immediately sell once a drop or some FUD occurs lol. Even I myself wouldn't probably be convinced about Bitcoin's future potential without all those content from the likes of Andreas Antonopoulos to convince me.
1702  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there any NON-KYC method to buy stocks using bitcoin? on: February 25, 2023, 04:20:11 AM
If you want to buy 'real' stocks, then no — the stock market is highly regulated and there's no chance you're getting a hold of them without AML/KYC.

On the other hand, you can trade synthetic stocks through DeFi platforms like Gains.trade, etc. Proceed with caution though, beware of scams, exploits, etc etc.
1703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How is DeFI exactly Decentralized ? on: February 25, 2023, 04:07:17 AM
Your funds are deposited to a smart contract that will manage your funds, not necessarily a centralized custodian that would hold your funds. Think of it as a wallet that's controlled by code. These "DEXs" can't necessarily go bankrupt, but the risks are with concerning exploits and stuff.

^Also, not all DEXs have this model. Some DEXs need to get a hold of your funds because it needs to if you're trading futures/etc. On the other hand, with spot market trading like Uniswap, you don't necessarily need to deposit.

But yea, the "decentralized" definition in contrast to DEXs is a slippery slope — it's going to depend on how you look at it. A far more better description is "non-custodial".

I'm hoping I still have time to start over and prove myself in this place. I need guidance

You don't need to prove yourself to anyone here — we're freakin internet anons. Save yourself all the hassle and just move on to something more productive and that'll more likely yield you results.
1705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: From this you can be accurate 85% of the time on: February 24, 2023, 03:10:45 PM
No offense mate, but if you can manage to be right 85% of the time on a long-term time frame, then you should be a billionaire by now. It might've worked in a short-term time frame, but don't immediately get too cocky that it will work well in a long-term time frame.
1706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can someone become Grace in life by investing in Bitcoin and crypto on: February 24, 2023, 03:00:04 PM
Looks like you have A LOT to learn. Don't even go straight to trading/investing, as you'll likely end up losing money if you don't even know what you're buying/investing in.

Congrats. Just make sure you're holding your precious bitcoin using a reputable hardware wallet; preferably, a Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet.

1708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can Bitcoin afford to buy on: February 24, 2023, 08:46:05 AM
Price of Bitcoin depends on bank currencies like their inflation can help Bitcoin price but you can not say the opposite. Purchasing power of bank currency depends on price of Bitcoin.

Announcements concerning inflation affects markets in general, because well — apparently that's how markets work. That doesn't make bitcoin any less good.
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can Bitcoin afford to buy on: February 24, 2023, 07:30:17 AM
Mostly online services like VPN/proxies/etc. It's quite rare for online retailers to accept bitcoin as payment as of today so for now, we're stuck with bandage solutions such as BitPay, Coinbase Commerce, Purse.io, and such.
1710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big businesses, corporations also influence the price of cryptocurrency market. on: February 24, 2023, 06:31:19 AM
Aren't these companies can be called big whales?  It is well known that these entities can influence prices and also manipulate them, had it not been for this being done in a deliberate manner so that no competitor would be harmed and the ship would sink with everyone.

So are you saying that anything that can affect market prices are "whales"? With that logic, the US government is a bitcoin whale because they can affect bitcoin's prices due to regulations lol. That doesn't make any sense at all.
1711  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do You Feel Less Safe? on: February 24, 2023, 06:12:37 AM
If brute-forcing private keys in general was already viable, then we're going to have bigger problems than our bitcoin/crypto holdings.
1712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is Legal in United State ? on: February 24, 2023, 01:28:55 AM
It took me like 5 seconds of using Google to have a rough answer, and a few more minutes just to make sure that the information in the Google results snippet is accurate.

Like, come on.

1713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traffic will jam if bitcoin pumps on: February 24, 2023, 01:18:04 AM
This is pretty much just a "you should patiently hold bitcoin" that's just stretched out to make it look like a thread that's been actually worked on lmao. We already have like 346346434 variations of this topic.
1714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the motto of bitcoin? on: February 24, 2023, 01:06:57 AM
Bitcoin is neither a company nor a business, it has a logo but it has no motto. Bitcoin logo is enough, or it isn't? The logo that indicates bitcoin is enough.

Heck — even the famous orange BTC logo isn't "official" and isn't even released by Satoshi Nakamoto. It was just created by a forum user called bitboy (not Bitboy Crypto, the YouTube grifter). What people think as Bitcoin's 'official' anything mostly isn't official — it's just what the community chose to use.
1715  Economy / Economics / Re: Did the Bitcoin Maimi conference 2022 contribute to Bitcoin price. on: February 24, 2023, 12:48:47 AM
This brought me to my worries if is is right to attribute the slight growth in price as a result of the 2022 conference and what to expect after that of 2023.

The conference was like what? Almost mid 2022? Not sure how we could point to that.

Also funnily enough, the cryptocurrency space has this thing with conferences where prices drop right after the events lol.
1716  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a way to invest in food related industry to recoup market inefficiency on: February 23, 2023, 06:11:26 AM
I read few articles where majority of Americans are depends on microwave and canned foods [1] [2] but if foods price always increase and it force Americans to buy canned foods, but why Campbell Soup's stock price isn't always increase?

Simply because it's not that simple. Food increase means people gets priced out of some food — and at the same time, price of ingredients of these food companies increase as well.
1717  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a way to invest in food related industry to recoup market inefficiency on: February 23, 2023, 05:27:35 AM
Not 100% sure (just thinking on the top of my head), but you're probably better off buying farm/agriculture stocks than buying food business stocks. The only one I know is Farmland Partners Inc ($FPI) — which I personally don't own, so just dyor.
1718  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware wallet questions on: February 23, 2023, 04:45:31 AM
That's the reason why there's a physical paper given to you when you bought your new trezor wallet.

Just a heads up that it might be better to not use the physical paper that's given by hardware wallet companies. Writing the backup down on a simple piece of paper can make it seem more 'unimportant' to thieves, compared to the paper given by hardware wallet companies that clearly indicates that it's a crypto wallet backup.
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIX THE MONEY - FIX THE WORLD #Bitcoin on: February 23, 2023, 04:08:57 AM
To make Bitcoin more friendly with the crowd, I don't think we should spread that statement that can makes side effects.

It's technically nonfactual due to the reasons you've listed, but it's one damn great slogan though. Giving less money/funding to the governments should greatly reduce their power over people and less funding for wars — which in itself is a huge thing.

^But yea, it doesn't fix everything lol.
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another story telling how billionaires hate bitcoin? - read over quick coffee. on: February 23, 2023, 03:57:20 AM
"Blockchain is great, but Bitcoin/altcoins freakin' suck."

I freakin hate this one. It's mostly being said by those who hate bitcoin/crypto, but acknowledges blockchain so they wouldn't sound like a tech/innovation snob.
