1281  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price motivation benchmark: on: May 23, 2023, 05:33:29 PM
Bitcoin has a cycle to help calculate its movement unlike those altcoins that have high centralization, subject to pump.

Cycles don't necessarily help people that much when it comes to price movement, because no cycles are the same. The markets has it's way of messing up a mindshare of people who highly expect a certain outcome to occur.
1282  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Computer Vision Syndrome/Efficiency when Trading on: May 23, 2023, 04:53:07 PM
Hi Could you share tips on how to Combat Computer Vision Syndrome and be more efficient when trading?

Ehh.. probably talk to an actual eye specialist for this.

Also is there a way to change the background colour in bingx when trading? The background colour in bingx is black but I think a white background would be better for me..

1. Make a feedback/recommendation to BingX about a light mode.
2. Try playing with the CSS (or install an open-source light mode forcing plugin).
1283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When to buy - A look into the future of BTC !? on: May 22, 2023, 11:55:16 PM
Trying to time markets with these kinds of baloney will just end you up shooting yourself in the foot.

It's pretty simple — you either buy lump sum if you're comfortable with being down for potentially long amounts of time, or simply dollar-cost average (DCA) if you're quite anxious about the price volatility.
1284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mr Beasts house robbed of everything except for bitcoin on: May 22, 2023, 11:24:16 PM
Even though even today not everyone knows how non-custodial Bitcoin backups work, I assume this was years and years ago (probably pre-2017 bull market) when Bitcoin wasn't that much of a household name yet.
1285  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: EttaWallet: new Lightning Wallet for iOS & Android📱 on: May 22, 2023, 05:44:39 PM
Anyone not-lazy tried this yet? How simple is the UX compared to Phoenix Wallet? I haven't seen any Lightning wallet that's best for non-technical noobs than Phoenix wallet.
1286  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [13th Anniv] Bitcoin Pizza Day 2023 on: May 22, 2023, 05:30:13 PM
No other way than to buy more bitcoin and to remember that hindsight is 20-20 when it comes to investments. Hindi kasi ako mahilig sa pizza. (pero sa totoo lang iwas lang talaga sa carbs kasi anghirap magpapayat.)
1287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you give one reason why I should buy bitcoin? on: May 22, 2023, 08:03:35 AM
Why tell us to convince you? It's not our responsibility to convince you lol. Instead, probably do your research instead?

1288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apple ID Vulnerability Exposes CryptoWallets To Theft on: May 22, 2023, 04:02:13 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong — but isn't this obvious, and calling it a 'vulnerability' is like.. duh? Of course getting access to someone else's cloud data(in which some wallet backups are stored in) could potentially cause a person to get access to the Apple ID owner's data(and wallet backup).
1289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you still buying? on: May 21, 2023, 07:38:01 PM
Think of it this way, if you sleep by 8pm and wake up by 5am to discover that bitcoin rise up to $50k, will is you said is scam? Or will you regret for not buying again? Believe me it will shock many people how the bull will react. Keep buying if trust bitcoin

Price isn't what decides if a certain cryptocurrency/asset is legit or not. There have been thousands and thousands of cryptocurrency scams that rose a lot in price solely because of hype — those price increases don't necessarily make them not-a-scam.
1290  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Online Casino promoter hahabulin na ng CICC on: May 21, 2023, 07:26:26 PM
Personally, in general wala akong problema sa pagpromote ng casino — nasa sayo parin in the end kung gusto mo mag sugal o hindi, knowing the risks. Pero ipropromote mo na madaling kumita sa casino? Medyo deliks nga talaga. #1 sa Facebook news feed to na ganito si Makagago.
1291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Save Bitcoins for Future on: May 20, 2023, 06:04:02 AM
This method suggested by mk4 is way safer than using the window OS.  Lots of hack and malware infection happen in windows environment and rarely I have heard linux being infected by malware.  Aside from that, it is also important to make sure the environment or OS system we are using in creating the wallet and private key extraction is clear of possible trojan viruses and other malware that can sniff our private key.  So  a fresh install OS is way better than using the OS that is exposed to a lot of sites.   Who knows that system is unknowingly infected by some hidden new malware that cannot be detected by AV and Internet securities.

Even viruses and malware aside, the fact that Windows is a huge privacy nightmare OS to start with automatically makes it a huge no-no. You're not only fearing the hackers, but even Microsoft themselves.
1292  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What position you make more profit, buy or sell? on: May 20, 2023, 04:36:32 AM
By being long(buy) — simply because I make a huge majority of my money by simply buying spot then holding for certain amounts of time. I have far higher success this way(and I assume most people will) instead of actively trading. I sometimes make days to a week-long short positions on certain shitcoins though.
1293  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In the market, following in the footsteps of Whales on: May 20, 2023, 03:42:08 AM
Elon Musk being a "whale" is total speculation as we have zero proof other than him being wealthy, especially the trading part lmao because I don't think he actually does that. It's just the fact that Elon has huge influence over markets — it doesn't necessarily make him a "whale".
1294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: obsolete bitcoin investment advices [change needed] on: May 20, 2023, 03:31:00 AM
1-2. I partly agree — but these advices being good or bad totally depends on the financial situation of the person receiving the advice. Not all advice are one-size-fits-all.

3. Doesn't need to be altcoins. A person should DYOR on whatever investment he/she's going to make. Even if it's bitcoin, it's still utterly dumb to buy anything that you don't understand.
1295  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Save Bitcoins for Future on: May 19, 2023, 08:33:26 PM
because I am not regularly using the wallet, I just keep it for a long investment (just plan to open it again for the next 10 years), so in that situation, I don't need the bootable Linux. I just hear that OS like tails are always updated regularly, so rather than update all the time, better for me to just keep that seed on the paper.

The reason you create the bootable drive is for security purposes because Windows is pretty much spyware. You only use the bootable drive temporarily to generate the wallet securely, not necessarily to use it.
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feedback on Portfolio on: May 19, 2023, 05:35:31 AM
I don't think I really need feedback, because I only buy stocks/crypto/etc (with a sizeable amount of money) if I have really high conviction in it.

^and add the fact that I don't really personally know anyone that's as interested in investing as me lol.
1297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I trade bitcoin? on: May 19, 2023, 04:34:04 AM
The best platform for trading will highly depend on what country you're in. Mostly though, I'd go with Binance and Kucoin. Probably Coinbase if you're from the United States(or any country they support).
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin retirement benefits on: May 19, 2023, 04:15:26 AM
This can mostly apply to almost any other investment that you think will appreciate — it's not really exclusive to bitcoin alone. But I get your point.
1299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Clarification Please on: May 19, 2023, 01:24:39 AM
How can I find out the status / when I will receive it??!? I was told that the "slowdown" is due to

higher transfer fees.
Go to your favorite block explorer (try blockchair) and enter in the transaction ID.

Will these fees ever lower
I don't think so, at least on the 'main' network. For lower fees, layer-2s will be the solution. Unfortunately they're not that ready yet.

and are BTC worth the investment still??!? (Layman Terms Please).
The transaction fees isn't really the identifying factor for bitcoin being a good investment or not.
1300  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 8 Best Decentralized exchange on: May 19, 2023, 01:06:58 AM
What the world are calling decentralised exchanges should not be regarded as decentralised exchanges.

Example is Uniswap or dYdZ which are basically for ether and ethereum tokens. Can I exchange bitcoin or other coins and tokens which belong to other network which are not ERC20 tokens on the ethereum decentralised exchanges? The answer is No.

Another example is Pancakeswsp and Binance Dex or so. They are for Binance coin and tokens which are BNB, BEP2 tokens and BEP20 tokens. Aside from anything on the Binance beacon and Binance smart chain, you can not exchange to other coins or tokens on other networks.

Which makes them not decentralised as it is said they are, but they are centralised not some ways.

The real decentralised exchanges example is Bisq. Although the coins listed on Bisq are not many, just only few coins are listed.

Being not able to swap coins/tokens on certain blockchain networks isn't what makes it centralized. You're not able to do swaps on BTC<->ETH, etc simply because they're different networks — it doesn't really relate to decentralization.
