Thanks for the opening bid, AmDD. And for your bid too, Hhampuz. Thanks for the kind works, wheelz. That is one sweet piece. I'm sure it'll fetch a pretty penny (pun intended) but I'll take my chances in the early bidding rounds. How much would shipping be to the UK? Thanks
Thanks for the kind words from you too, AT101ET. UK shipping seems to be a little more expensive than some other countries, but I can send it your way for $95 USD or .095 BTC. Regards, Chris

Welcome to the first Bitcoin Penny™ Original Wall Art auction -- available exclusively to the BitcoinTalk community!Bitcoin Penny™ Original Wall Art -- "2017 iRiE" Antique "Distressed" Wood SignThis limited run, original art project began as a fun way for me to busy myself in the few weeks leading up to our official launch of the NEW 2017 Bitcoin Penny™ Commemorative Coins in late March. So are we bidding on single items now?? or is this still for the whole lot of items?
Will you allow both??
Bids aren't allowed on single items but you are free to make an offer on single items but I will probably reject it if it's not "fair" That's called a bid, and it either meets your (undisclosed) reserve price or it doesn't. Either way, it's still a bid. Regards, Me

And I have actually lost 4 packages/letters in the mail this month so I bet it would get lost.
Seriously?! That's a LOT of lost packages. Are you sure you're mailing and/or labeling them correctly? I ship a lot of packages, and I'm not sure we lost ANY package. Regards, Chris

If I remember correctly, the first batch of 1,000 coins were minted correctly, but without the requested (and paid for) ultra-thin protect finish to slow the natural discoloration of high quality copper. Only a few hundred of those first coins went out. The new order of 1,000 had the protective finish, but the mint accidentally minted them as the above example. Thus, the error coin. Funnily, the same thing happened with our second order of the 2016 DAVE coins. Not only did the mint's sales rep apologize several times, but the head of the minting floor contacted me to apologize for the error as well. (For what it's worth, they PROMISED it wouldn't happen again, and I've already reminded them to be a bit more careful with the upcoming 2017 release.) Of course, we never released the above info on the 2016 error coins. (I believe this is the first time.) I told my wife that if I weren't me, and if I didn't have all the emails from the mint employees apologizing for the mix-up, then I'd suspect it was done on purpose just to have an "error coin" and increase sales. It wasn't done on purpose, of course. And I hope that it doesn't happen again. Regardless, we're sold out of the 2016 DAVE coins, so I don't mind sharing the info now. Anyway, I tend to ramble sometimes. Sorry. Regards, Chris PS -- We did send five coins for grading, and all came back MS67. We sold them all. I'd love to own one, especially an MS68. (Fingers cross'd.)

I think that the idea of a non-professionally minted, handmade, artisan physical bitcoin is an intriguing idea, and I'm glad to see that you've accidentally stumbled upon the idea. If well-executed, then this could be a very nice, niche addition to the burgeoning world of bitcoin collectibles. (On the other hand, if poorly-executed, then it could drastically lower the bar for future collectibles projects, and that would be unfortunate.) I'm an optimistic person, so I'm sure you've got this.
However, it's important to remember that a non-professionally minted, handmade coin may have troubles when it comes to ANACS grading services. Just a random thought...
Congratulations again.
Regards, Chris

I wonder if any other coin makers have stamped their coins vs using a mint. There's a risk these coins will be very handmade looking and a lot of unhappy customers expecting something else. Perhaps you should show a finished product before asking for payment, even if using escrow.
Why not use a mint and charge more to recover your costs?
The Bitcoin Penny Company contracts with an actual mint, because we prefer the appearance of a professionally minted coin as opposed to a rougher, handmade coin. Nothing against handmade coins, mind you. We simply prefer the appearance of professionally minted coins. The QC is much better too. Good luck with your new coins, ky. Regards, Chris

It is amazing! Are you planning on make more auctions at this kind in the future?
As Sky mentions below, this is our second year doing the YOUR NAME ON OUR COINS auction. We had so much fun doing it last year, that we immediately decided to do it every year for the new release. The winner of this year's auction will have his choice of custom NAME / INITIALS minted on all of our 2017 standard mint coins. (That's a guaranteed minimum of 2,000 coins.) And it looks like TMAN may be the winner for 2017 with his choice of ALLS minted on the coins. It's a strong bid, so I'm not sure anyone is bold enough to go against it. As for future opportunities, we'll do the same auction again in early 2018 for the 2018 Bitcoin Penny™ release. Regards, Chris
