If you want to see something harsher, go into virtually all other ICO which start out with some people dissecting every detail, and writing scam, scam, scam. It's part of the process, and I haven't seen that in this thread. And it's healthy when you do see it. I'm not new here. I know how it goes, but you don't see that there is absolutely ZERO need to come in and even make that statement unless you have PROOF. Why just make a general statement about scams if you don't even know. Look through my history, I've seen it all and said it all and If I were in your shoes, I would not just come into any thread and even say the word scam unless I had more proof. |

yes, true mass adoption as of right now seems like a dream for any cryptocurrency. But does that mean we should all give up now? We obviously don't know for sure what or who will be the ones to hit a home run service, technology, or product that brings cryptocurrency into the true limelight. What kind of equipment is one going to need to be a delegate? I gather that the delegates will only be the ones that have the resources to pay for pricey VPS services. I'm sorry, but I do not see how 51 delegates is decentralized. True, other holders will be able to vote them in and out. However, most governments also have a voting system, and they are far from decentralized. I'm much more comfortable with having 51 main delegates and a guest delegate being selected each round from anyone who has any votes, and not in the top 51. I know how this is going to sound but there are good reasons we chose this figure. We have all worked around DPoS and have a clear view of what has been happening recently. Though we are very ambiguous at this time, our goal may not be about making it more decentralized but rather on consumer adoption. Which in the end helps out the whole crypto community rather than just ourselves. We are creating a brand new voting system but at the same time, we want to avoid the wastefulness of some other projects. I agree with you that there should be a fairer distribution of who gets to "forge".  The problem with getting mass adoption is that the masses want the opportunity to go into debt. The masses don't want to wait and save to get the items they are looking for. Buy now, pay later. Since cryptocurrencies as a whole are ill equipped to provide this service ATM, the mass adoption dream will have a hard time coming to fruition. It's the big ticket items like homes and cars that make an economy run. I think the Iconomi guys are doing a very good job at coming up with solutions to the issues. It may not be perfect but imo they are doing it right. Don't go overboard with the crap, it's not like they have control over what ETH does or does not do to combat hackers and crypto griefers.
