1761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEW government Version of Bitcoin??? You have to read this crap! on: August 24, 2016, 10:12:20 PM
There's two flaws in this story.

1) The guy obviously doesn't know how Bitcoin works. There's already a form of electronic currency backed by nothing, with issued paper wallets that represent value and controlled by governments. We call it fiat.

2) World governments can't cooperate with each other long enough to do it. It's the reason the European Monetary Union and the euro failed. If governments could work together there would already be a "one world currency".

+1 what he says ^^^

Seems like OP lucked into listening to a couple of old white men fantasizing about being in control of everything. Like they do.
1762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: E-Dinar Malware,Virus active Bitstamp Account hacked ! Warning ! on: August 24, 2016, 08:54:47 PM
Although nothing would surprise me about the E Dinar scam, how do you know that it is their wallet that is to blame for your loss?
Any scans of it, any proof?

1764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is there to do with bitcoins these days ? on: August 24, 2016, 08:53:27 AM
You can spend them, buy and sell them, save them, lend them, give them to people, gamble with them, just about anything you can do with fiat.
What were you expecting?

No you aren't, you are a HYIP/Ponzi referral site, making commission off anyone stupid enough to send money to the shit schemes that you promote.
Your 'guaranty' is a worthless sales gimmick.
1766  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: i have the money for mining and i live in Venezuela on: August 23, 2016, 08:12:28 PM
If you have free electricity then forget S9's, you just want as many g/hs for your capital cost as possible, efficiency is irrelevant.

At current difficulty/price you will earn $0.03 per hour per t/hs.
Think cheap, used and reliable.
Good luck.
1767  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Double Your Bitcoins x180% in ONE Day [details inside] on: August 23, 2016, 11:21:25 AM
The usual question with these amazing trading systems: if they really return these huge ROI's consistently, why does the creator sell it for $500/$1000/ whatever, instead of just using it himself?
1768  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 23, 2016, 08:12:15 AM

Direct dc is the current default supply in the industrial sector.(in india)

Ac is the current default in residential .(in india)

Also psu /ups and other equipment provide the conversion needed .

But a battery and solar power will cost more to setup and maintain than a just normal psu.

It's an interesting subject, but probably worth its own thread. (Hint: we're off topic here).  Wink
If there are examples of "home grown" DC setups running a miner, via topped up batteries? without current inversion, I'd be grateful if anyone could link to them.
1769  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 22, 2016, 02:13:23 PM
Risking a smack, Bitmain's spec for the APW3-12-1600 PSU specifies output at

DC Voltage
12V
Rated Current
133A
Rated Power
1600W

If there is a DC supply capable of providing that, why can someone not just go DC/DC direct connection?
i.e. battery/solar power without the conversion to AC and back again to DC thru a PSU?
Just asking...
1770  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 22, 2016, 01:49:44 PM
Hey tharani, if you want to know how much your S9 will cost to mine how much, use http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator , fill in the relevant values of your miner, plus your electricity cost (iirc, Delhi, for example, is about $0.06 per KwH for a medium size user) and you will get your answer.

Whoa slow down.
FACT: every visit I have made to India (many), I have used AC in hotels, offices, shops, beach bars etc.
India has an AC grid BUT there is a perfectly legit way of receiving DC to your home there but yes, it will be off grid supply unless inverted (like a caravan) Smiley
Lighten up guys.

everywhere you visited comes under industrial sector, hotels bars, offices , shops all come under industrial not residential.

which digitalbitcoin(bitcointalk member) says is dc supply rofl

why are you confusing guys

someone says its ac and someone says its dc lol

lol, no, they're commercial, not industrial.

This is industrial

This is commercial  Wink

1773  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 22, 2016, 11:28:06 AM

Brits installed it 67 years ago or maybe even before 80 years

it's been more than 69 years after we got independence and have our own democracy and gov

now its dc

its not a new fact it has been the system for years' apparently you don't try to get to know facts about other countries cause you don't need it as a necessity.

Mostly people here would be from the us , uk and  the europe

Whoa slow down.

India is 240V same as the Brits who first installed it there......

Yes, that's my experience, but a search of the infallible Google reveals that dc supply is available, also it's where the poster tharani comes from.
1775  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scam alert on: August 22, 2016, 10:45:57 AM
@winspiral
Your system/game is ingenious but it is not cloudmining as per the definition

Quote from: Yeah, I know its Wikipedia, but it will do for these purposes
Cloud Mining is the process of bitcoin mining utilizing a remote datacenter with shared processing power. This type of mining allows users to mine bitcoins or alternative cryptocurrencies without having to manage their own hardware.

The fact is that "cloudmining" to everyone, apart from you, is an area to stay away from because it's full of scammers or vulnerable to becoming unprofitable with no exit strategy.
Do yourself a favor.

It might not mean something but volts is what we pay the electricity bill for

kwatts gets converted to volts in meter reading.

the normal current supply to homes is dc

the current pay would be 13440 dollars for a month

Wut? Where on earth is that?

Caravan site?  Cheesy Grin

Apparently the answer is India.
You learn something every day......

@ Daneric

I don't have any skin in this game, but I think you're wasting your time addressing Lee as it seems quite clear that the owner of Btcpop is now Holger Gundlach who, according to the quote in my post, isn't a fan of Mr. Bartholomew and doesn't appear to be on this forum.

New owner's view of old owner, from Holger Gundlach's FB

Lee Bartholomew as you're not responding to anything i have decided to go public.
Lee Bartholomew decided to scam a lot people for a lot money.
I bought btcpop of him, he hided numbers and even created fake accounts with balances created in the database what he attempted to withdrawal after me owning btcpop.
He borrowed a lot of money in bitcoins and got lot of money from IPO's
I still get daily emails about unpaid bills, late reminders, from collections agencies addressed to him.
Be careful with doing any kind of business with that person.
