1761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 26, 2022, 03:05:48 PM
I'm just wondering what if Crawford got defeated do Spence will take the call challenging Avanesyan right away.

If the goal is to be unified all the Welterweight belts, then I think that would be the case if Crawford got defeated against Avanesyan on his title defense in December. There would even be no need for Spence to call out Avanesyan as I'm sure the latter will do it instead as that was a big break in his career.

Well then, since this fight now failed to materialize I think further discussion about this match is pointless for now.

Let's hope that next year, the much-awaited fight for long will now turn into reality.

I'm even surprised that this discussion is still open and isn't locked temporarily because it's already official that this undisputed fight won't happen this year, maybe soon, we don't really know. Also, if this David Avanesyan will win the fight, it will be a big break for him and he will be famous more than what Bivol experienced when he defeated Canelo.

He will be so proud to himself as being the first one to crack Terence Crawford and putting him as one of his trophies in his record. If that happens then I bet Spence will have a hard time too, right? There's no way Crawford will get defeated while Spence will have an easy journey, that is just totally impossible.
1762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A disheartening true life winning story on: October 26, 2022, 02:25:26 PM
Last week, I read a painful story from a local newspaper where a huge amount was legally won but the lottery company is refusing to pay.

In USD conversion, the guy bet about $690 and won about $169,000, but the gambling company refused to pay him, claiming that his record of the winning has been wiped off from their database as a result of a technical error.

The first step he took was to report at a police station where he was offered about $23,000 by the company which he rejected. He later reported at the National Gambling Board where he was offered about $29,900 which he also rejected. It's at this time he charged them to court with three counts charges of Conspiracy, Obtaining money under false pretence and Stealing.

The case is on, and I hope he wins. The guy is lucky enough to have money to file charges and this is happening within his reach/jurisdiction.

I believe these things really happening in reality but just rarely or the lottery company were able to pay a much lower amount compared to what is won while threatening the man/woman to be silent as they won't even win the case even if they were to file a case. Anyway, reading the story made me furious and saddened on the man's behalf because he wasn't paid the right amount, the lottery company was already guilty when they tried to bribe him.

One thing is for sure, that man will win the case because I bet the court will make an example for these company. There's enough evidence to confirm that the man has won the lottery but the company chose to neglect him.
1763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: October 26, 2022, 08:50:21 AM
So they chooses a hard hitting fighter in David Avanesyan and so Crawford will be tested here. Nevertheless, we could see a war in the initial opening and then Crawford taking over and uses his jab to pot shop Avanesyan.

I read that David Avanesyan is a popular welterweight boxer in Europe, specifically in the United Kingdom.

No way a boxer will become popular if their credentials are not good. Although Terence Crawford is considerably having a big name here, it doesn't mean that all advantages are on his side against Avanesyan.

This will be a good match for Crawford and a good test fight before facing Spence in the future, if possible.

Well, you're right about that because this Avanesyan does have a decent record for starters and seeing his last 5 matches makes me think that this is indeed what Crawford needed to keep him in shape while waiting for Spence because I know that this Avanesyan will give everything he got as Crawford might be his key in the international boxing world. That said, I bet this will be a good fight that I wouldn't want to miss.

I've compared their advantages; Crawford got the reach advantage as well as the experience and ring IQ, about this Avanesyan, not yet sure what he got but I guess we will see it this coming December.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 26, 2022, 08:29:34 AM
That was a rough landing there but JC was really get that block from behind way too clean. Well, can't say it was just a lucky thing but who knows? JC has more minutes now compared the last season and I think it befits on him. For Zion, I think his minutes will be restricted considering his last game with Jazz is somewhat worrisome.
That was an incredible block made by JC and unlucky for Zion his landing would probably have hurt him a lot. Too bad again for Zion, he's really prone to injury.
He's got that hip injury that would make his worth low again and not just bad for him but also for the team. The team has waited for him for this season and very likely that he may be in the same situation of waiting again. A lot of money invested on him but if he's getting injury and prone to it, his value will be lower after his contract and much likely that only few teams would take him or worse, he'll be waived.

There is a zero percent chance that Zion gets waived. This injury was due to a hard foul that he had no control of and it was a bad landing. Meaning he’s probably in some pain and will have a hell of a bruise but he’ll be as good as new in a week. A shame the Pelicans have a nationally televised game tomorrow on TNT. I know Zion would’ve wanted to go crazy on TV to let everyone know he’s back. Maybe he’ll play through the pain but I doubt the Pelican staff will take any chances.

To be fair, there was no hard foul, it was a clean block from behind. Jordan Clarkson really timed Zion's jump and eventually caught all ball but unfortunately, he fell very hard, back first and he is on pain in the floor.

Yes, the Pels shouldn't allow Zion to play, just take a couple of breaks and let the back heal in time. It's just the start and we don't like to see him sideline again because of injuries.

It wasn't Jordan Clarkson's fault on why Zion had that injury, it was a clean block and it's been replayed many times after the incident. It was a scary fall though, the Pelicans needed to give Zion some rest first while the season had just started which they did because Zion wasn't in the game earlier versus the Mavericks. Anyway, is there any update regarding Zion's situation and Ingram too?
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: October 25, 2022, 05:35:59 PM
Odds for this match:

Bivol, Dmitriy @ 1.21
Ramirez Sanchez, Gilberto @ 4.30

https://stake.com/sports/boxing/international/international-matchups/42951047-bivol-dmitriy-ramirez-sanchez-gilberto

Bivol is still the heavy favorite and what a huge gap difference against Zurdo Ramirez.

Betting options are still limited to Moneyline with less than 2 weeks left before the match.

Not bad for some bettors who would like to risk some few bucks to bet on Ramirez because his odds are really juicy but I guess it's not that easy considering that he is up against Dmitry Bivol who defeated Canelo Alvarez. As for me, I'll wait for the other options regarding this fight and I think I might splurge a little on Ramirez's odds. Few more days to go before we will witness this fight.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does new projects succeed in bear on: October 25, 2022, 05:15:42 PM
It’s hard time for Bitcoins in the bear market, how can you expect new projects to do well here. I mean first of all many new projects turns into scam. If some are left and you thinking to invest on it, then it’s huge risk according to me. Atleast in this bear market it’s very much risky.
Instead I would suggest go for coins with stable price and large marketcap. It’s just a suggestion op, rest you have  to decide.

You have a point but we cannot really take the fact away that there may be some new coins/projects that will prosper in bear market unlike from what we speculated that they won't survive in the height of this season. There's still some investors that are not too scared to invest in new projects as long as it have some uses or utilities because that is one of the few reasons to determine if that specific project will get through this season. But mostly, just like you and me, it is much better to invest in known and one of the top performing coins/projects in the market today because the risk is somehow minimized, IMO.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 25, 2022, 04:45:08 PM
Speaking of Loma, he has been vocal about Tank Davis and he said that Tank needs to face tough opponent so that he can be recognized. I think we all agree to that, he just face Isaac Cruz and then Rolly Romero in his last 2 fights and not all of us are familiar with that name. And also Loma praises Shakur, and admit that they have sparred in the past at 126-130 but admit that Stevenson is very different now as he is bigger and poise to make it to 135 lbs and which he is trying to get all his belt back. And if Loma wins here, we expect a fight between him and Haney next year and that will be big. As for Ortiz, even if he losses this fight, this is still a good experience to put under his belt and he could be a champion later down the road.

The expectations from the fans really into the side of Loma, knowing that he's on a mission to bring down Haney after this fight, chasing for the belt and regaining the hype will bring loma more money fight. Still too early for conclusion, but the upper hand and the favorite already been eyed to Loma, it's more on Ortiz exposure and how he will try to upset the heavy favorite.

We might see a more interesting fight once Loma starts winning. Fans will love to see him holding the belt as they will expect
more challenger to chase fighting him.

It's already interesting seeing Loma vs Haney, so let's hope that Loma will win this fight as he has not fought a real champion since he got defeated by Lopez. It's his comeback fight, a win is a must for him to face Haney, otherwise, he has to start over again which we don't want to see.

Not just an ordinary win because I doubt Lomachenko will be enough to defeat the current Haney if he will just win by a decision or just barely, anyway, we never know but surely, he needed an outstanding outcome like a KO or TKO because in that way, we are somehow sure that he can really take the undisputed champion down. Nevertheless, we can't hide the excitement we feel to see Loma back on action again, hopefully Oritz won't back down easily so that the fight will be much more interesting.
1768  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I use Bitcoin in a country that it is banned? on: October 24, 2022, 09:33:27 PM
This is according to my personal experience,
when I withdraw a large enough amount of money,
I withdraw the money not to a bank account

The OP took the case in a country where crypto is completely banned, so what exactly are crypto laws in your country? You said "withdraw" which I understand it came from the exchange. If the crypto exchange is legal in your country, then you don't have to worry that much even if you withdraw a large amount. After all, banks have different considerations than you about large transactions that could be considered suspicious.
Then you should hold it more and try to withdraw it when you start visiting other country that does not ban crypto wherein they have lots of legit exchanges that are reliable. Otherwise, if you insist to use your crypto in your own country, then you might be investigated about it and might be charge for not abiding with the law.
1769  Economy / Economics / Re: How to be more effective working remotely. on: October 24, 2022, 09:16:00 PM
Force yourself. That is something that not many people do but if you are going to work long term then you should be forcing yourself. You are having trouble waking up early? Force yourself to wake up early, too early if you have to, that way you will go to bed early as well, having trouble finding food to eat, or can't decide? Force yourself to eat healthy, having trouble exercising? Force yourself to do it.

If you keep doing these for a couple of weeks in a row every day, it is going to become your regular day and it won't really take that much time neither and rest of the time you could relax. I have been working remote for so long and never been happier in my life.
If you want to end up not regretting and be able to keep your work, then yes forcing is a must. After all, the adjustments are just in the beginning phase. Soon you will be used to it and will love the new environment and scenario eventually. Although I am also having my remote job these days, but the only difference is that I love its idea in the first place and it’s effective for me.
1770  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: October 24, 2022, 08:58:20 PM
Bitcoin has decreased significantly. It was bull market before, then followed by a significantly bear market. What next after a significant bear market? Bull market would follow.

To achieve the result of full bull market may take time, you can also hold for long.
If you aim for huge profits in the future, of course you will take the risk investing in this bear market because it would be the best entry for investments. So buying bitcoin and long term hodling is the best thing to do because when the bull market turns over, it’s always bitcoin that will surge high and skyrocket compared to altcoins in the market because they simply follow the path of bitcoin.
1771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you choose cryptocurrency as full time job? on: October 23, 2022, 09:36:39 PM
We are in a world people desire to work in oil company, banking firm and while others choose to in different organizations been a corporate office jobs just to answer am working in so so company, but can you choose crypto as full time corporate job?
I'm not really sure how to answer this but yes you can example like working on exchange or writting some blog or making video about crypto, The other way was working as Blockchain developer on some sector like Oil, Market, Food, etc and also being a lawyer or even marketing on some blockchain-based company
You can actually, but be ready to take the risk. Since crypto jobs are not stable compared to an offline job that takes 8 hours a day. But if you can work with your day job and work on crypto as a side job, that would be a better option. In the end, no matter how difficult the job is, as long as you know how to manage your time and set your priorities, then you will never end up having financial struggles.
1772  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Advise to Forum members on PMs offers on: October 22, 2022, 09:49:47 PM
This will depend on who makes the offer. If it is an untrusted newbie, then that's immediately a red flag. But if it's an untrusted newbie who's willing to put payment funds in a reputable escrow, then it might be legit. But there is also a need to take a look at the company or service that is to be promoted.

Also, it is possible that an offer comes from a known campaign manager here. I know, for example, that there are signature and avatar slots that are offered through PM even though the same is also being posted on the services board. Others might only be offered through PM and recommendations.
For me, regardless of who made the PM if it’s newbie or a legend in the forum, the best thing to do is still to make DYOR and investigate the project. If it’s legit and is very promising, then you can bite the offer and see where will it lead you. But this is only happening occasionally, as most of the legit projects and reputable managers post it on the forum rather than making a PM to someone they are targeting. Still be cautious on that matter.
1773  Economy / Speculation / Re: What’s going to make Bitcoin turn from a downward to an upward trend? on: October 22, 2022, 09:25:10 PM
Time, just be patient.
Short but precise. If we can be patient the whole time and never gets panic every time the market price for bitcoin drops, then there’s no reason we won’t see an upward trend. Maybe we should also change the mindset of most of the investors and traders to stay positive all the time, and always maximize your investments when there is bear market as it’s the best entry of the year. The moment you see bitcoin’s price upward trend, that would be the best exit and sell our coins for huge profits.
1774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 22, 2022, 05:54:29 PM
As of now, the real basis is the odds, we can only see the real status between them once they are already in the ring. When Lopez fought Loma, Loma was also heavily favored, but personally, I don't think that will happen again here as I believe Loma had already learned his lesson.

He already learned the hard way and he will not be the same as when he fought Lopez, Lomachenko will be more careful at the start of the rounds and this fight will not end early unless Loma smells some blood that will gonna trigger finish his opponent earlier than expected. it's really not hard to come back from a long time rest in the boxing ring when you still got all the skills and instinct to win every fight and this one will be just like a practice match for Loma if he can find his rhythms in the early rounds.

And Loma still has that, so it's not going to be hard for him to beat  Jamaine Ortiz although I have to say that he is not an easy opponent. Loma is a very discipline fighter, he does not throw trash talk a lot, all he does is impress the fans with his very technical style, so hopefully we will again see it here.

This Ortiz is a good challenge for Loma's skill but it's a good preparation against Haney if they agreed to meet I'm sure they will, compared to other boxers in the higher weight division, fighters from lower weight are easy to create a deal, with the exception of Ryan Garcia who keeps avoiding top fighters in his division, both Haney and Lomachecnko are risk takers and when you are a risk taker, you will be rewarded with titles and big fights.

Well, if you risk big then you will really get rewarded big too but that is if you can manage to defeat your foe. In this instance, just like what others have said, Ortiz might be the perfect challenge for Loma if he is indeed back to make business with his name on the line. But I'm thinking that Loma might not get Haney if he will just barely defeat Ortiz here, he need to have an explosive result.

What you say is very true, first Loma has to realize that Ortiz is not an easy boxer, and something that I like about Ortz is that he has a lot of determination and in boxing that is what is most sought after, having the determination to be able to do Things are going very well, I know that Loma's main objective is to see himself against Haney, but if Loma wins with a wide advantage, it would be ideal if he could win by a knockout, but against Ortiz I really see it as very difficult, it is something almost improbable, but hey, even though everything is possible in boxing, I would be much more inclined towards the option that the objectives of both boxers is to transcend, but Loma does not have it easy at the moment.

Yes, Ortiz is not just an ordinary boxer who falls on the category of "just a tune-up" fight for Loma before he faces the undisputed champion, Devin Haney. As we can see, this Ortiz has a polished record that is why he is chosen for Loma because this kid will be Loma's test before he face a much harder opponent. We will see it very soon on how did Loma prepare for this fight and of course, Ortiz because Loma is definitely a good trophy that can hype his name if he can win this one.
1775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 22, 2022, 05:23:11 PM
It's not a good sight to see only 3 players in the Lakers have double digits in points. Their critics will probably dissect this game.

But the center of the criticism will be on Westbrook. I'm so disappointed with his performance, it looks like he is also not happy with his teammates, you can tell by looking at his production, that's not the same Westbrook we saw years ago. Back then, he also played with superstars like Durant and Harden, but Westbrook does really excel unlike now that he cause the struggle of this team.

Yes, I'm not that already sure what happened to him that made him what he is now. Is it really too late for Westbrook now? Or he is already way too out of his prime? Because there is something wrong, really. He knows that this is his last chance, so if he won't improve his game then there will be no teams in the league who will be interested to get him and sign up because surely the Lakers won't re-sign him if his not improving.
1776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will digital dollar be a threat to bitcoin? on: October 22, 2022, 01:41:53 PM
I came across this on the news today, and I wonder if this will be a challenge to the growth of crypto in the united states with the government beginning to consider the digital dollar.
Quote
The White House is particularly targeting the proof-of-work transaction-validation process used by many blockchains, including bitcoin. This mechanism consumes huge amounts of energy because it requires a lot of computing power.

And with everything else, the administration is pushing for a digital dollar, a kind of digital twin of the dollar, at a time when China has taken a step ahead on this issue
Read here
Do you think with the level of civilization in the united states, that the digital dollar will be successful?
It will not be a threat to bitcoin because bitcoin is not  not competing with dollar, but I believe some countries are affraid to adopt bitcoin because of the dominant nature of it. The digital dollar will make things easier for bitcoin users because it will make transaction more easily. Many countries have already launched or created digital currency but most of them are not working. Citizens are not even using them to do any transaction. So they become redundant in the ecosystem. The existence of the digital dollar will be achieved but the different is always clear. Dollar is centralized system of service while bitcoin has a decentralized system of operation so there are of different uses.
Like the Nigerian Enaira, since when it was launched I have not even open the app to see how it works but I only heard that there is Enaira but I am not using it. This case might different from dollar because dollar. But the number of users of bitcoin will still supersede dollar.

Yes, I do agree with you on this. Bitcoin has never in competition with any currency out there even if each respective countries will launch their own digital currencies, bitcoin will still be alive and growing because of its utilities, and most of all, people will still seek bitcoin because it is decentralized. I believe bitcoin is more of a threat to the US dollar than the other way around.
1777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 20, 2022, 04:32:51 PM
^ Career wise, yes Kambosos suffered 2 successive defeats in the hands of Haney.
But I don't see it as something that he needs and ponder retirement. He is just 29 years old and still in his prime. Of course he had made millions possible on his 3 last fight.
However, he can go, as he had said in post fight interview, this is just a setback and he will definitely will want to comeback strong next year and fight again. Fighters are measured on how they can bounce back after a huge defeat. He should cherry pick his opponent in his next fight though, just to bring back his confidence.

Why would he retire? What he experienced recently is not an enough reason for him to consider a retirement especially at his age. He can still do big fights in the coming years because he still have an opportunity to redeem himself after losing a consecutive battle, his story is not yet finished. Yes, I do agree, might be good for though to cherry pick his next foe to help him recover. He should take his time to reflect and bounce back next.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 20, 2022, 02:03:54 PM

Crawford is really in an odd situation if he remains a free agent. He is not Canelo that can easily jump to any promoters and networks but still dictates everything in the deal. If he fights the WBO number 1 contender, the undefeated banger Vergil Ortiz Jr., it will be promoted by Golden Boy and DAZN will televise it. Highly risky for Bud with no legacy returns except money. Ortiz is a superstar in the making. Huge fanbase and is a very charismatic guy. I believe Crawford-Ortiz will beat all of Spence's previous PPV buys. But Crawford can also move up to 154 and hunt for his 4th division title but he seriously needs a promoter to depend on.

I'm also thinking the same way, I also thought that a unification fight between Crawford and Spence is the next thing to happen when Bud haven't re-sign with Bob Arum. We all know that Arum is not inclined in these situation but without him, Crawford's alone and nothing to lean on in these times, also his situation has gotten worse because Spence's camp is playing on him. He badly needed a promoter and Mayweather is there ready to accept Bud under his banner to help him in the business side. I hope he will seek help to make this happen because he is getting older.

Aside from that, I think it's much better for him to fight Charlo in 154 pounds rather than risking his career for getting nothing while fighting the #1 contender, Ortiz.

Yeah, Mayweather really wants to sign Bud. The problem with Mayweather Promotions nowadays is it is just becoming one of the dummy promotions for PBC who's hiding under a managerial license. Mayweather is not the same guy anymore that wanted his promotion to become big like De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. And we also do not know how much Bud trusts Mayweather knowing the guy is a very close friend to Spence's team like Ellerbe his former manager and Al Haymon the owner of PBC.

Jermell Charlo the undisputed champ of 154 is from PBC too and he already said that he won't give Bud a shot at his undisputed belts. Charlo a very close friend of Spence wants Bud to work his way up to the rankings and earn his shot. So Bud can either get a tune-up at 154 or request the WBO to give him a shot at the WBO 154 belt which Charlo can vacate if it's still reluctant. It seems like these boys of PBC are trying to stop Bud from becoming the first-ever undisputed champion in 2 (Spence at 147) or 3 (Charlo at 154) divisions in this 4 belt era.

Money-wise DAZN has the deepest pocket in boxing right now. They got the biggest money-makers in boxing Canelo, AJ, Usyk, and potential future superstars Vergil Ortiz and Ryan Garcia. Bud can sign with them but it might also mean no more Spence and Charlo.

Really? I didn't know that Crawford's situation is much deeper than what I've thought. That's indeed too bad because all his years are wasted being under Bob Arum's management because Bob didn't let Bud build his legacy. Now, he is being rejected to have a shot in an undisputed fight both in welter and super welter. But I don't understand, why is it a bad idea if Bud sign under DAZN? Enlighten me mate.
1779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 20, 2022, 01:11:14 PM

I guess their unification fight will still happen and it's inevitable because both of them are looking forward to make their own respective legacy, although I think there will be some stalling first  and knowing Casimero, he might bark to lift the hype until their fight is official. It might be delayed but it won't last long.

If Inoue will move up, there are champions that he has to beat, Casimero is not a champ so he also needs to win more fights like Inoue's gonna do. I hope to see them fight together because Casimero has been challenging Inoue when he was still a champion, but Inoue just ignore the challenge and fight an old Donaire, I don't know if he is just playing safe or what.

They will have to make way up before fighting the champion. Although Inoue might have the easiest way because he organizations might give him a freeway since he is a champion after all. So maybe Inoue will have 1 fight in 122 lbs, just to test the weight and fighters at this natural weight and after that, he will be set up against the current champion in this division. As compare to Casimero which might have to work very hard just to get a rank in the super bantamweight.

Agree to that, In Inoue's case, he can or his promoters can negotiate with a title holder, while for Casimero, he needs to start from the scratch before he can challenge a belt holder.

Though we don't know if how both camps will negotiate and initiate the possible fight to happen
as the organization will not allow them to direct the deal from each other, they need to follow what
the organization will demand them to do, a process that both camps needs to comply.

That's the kind of liberty Inoue has, he is in the top 10 for the pound for pound ranking, so he's considered a tough challenger for any champion, and if the promoter of the champion would want to have a big fight that will also make them earn a lot of money, they should be ready fighting Inoue as Inoue is one of the most popular boxers now in the world.

However, for Casimero, it seems like he needs to do a hyping job again in order for him to gain the attention of the fans, and he should also consistently winning.

That is if that said champion is not scared of Inoue, super-bantam has 2 champions, both acquired 2 belts and still undefeated until now. If they are looking forward to have a legacy then might as well accept if Inoue's camp is aiming for them. Still too early for me because he's still bound for his undisputed title and maybe test the water first before fighting champions. But for Casimero, I agree, he needs to lift his name these days first because he is currently buried in issues. People wanted proof first.
1780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another example is how greed destroy crypto investors. on: October 20, 2022, 10:40:00 AM
it is our own fault. I also often experience it, we are like being carried away by the market atmosphere. What we have to instill is that we must have a target for how much profit we will make from the project investment and if it has been achieved we cannot return unless we really see the potential in the future and use technical so that we know where is a good position to buy.

As others say, a profit is not truly a profit if it wasn't spent or sold. In other words, if we got lucky, we should take our initial investment back to feel and hold that indeed our investment have flourished.
