17601  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING - Now ASIC/GPU mining BTC/NVC/LTC/NMC/FTC/IXC/DVC! on: July 16, 2013, 06:26:48 AM
THE GOOD:
I traded our Block Erupter & 1 BTC for a 5970 GPU to use in our scrypt miner.  This GPU was successfully configured to mine NovaCoins, which I think will be extremely beneficial for long term savings.  NastyFan Akka has also donated a 5870 GPU for our scrypt miner that is expected to arrive in a week or so.

THE BAD:
While testing the new 5970 in our scrypt miner, I overloaded the PSU and burned it out.  I've ordered a much more powerful PSU that will be capable of running our 2x7970/5970/5870 scrypt miner.  We've also had a bad few days of luck on P2Pool but hopefully that will turn around soon.

What other coins do you have planned?
17603  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 25% off any new BFL order on: July 15, 2013, 07:34:11 AM
How did you get 25% off a BFL order and what is the minimum purchase price you're looking for?

Very early preorders got discount codes.  If we were interested in going in together for a large order, I would be willing to split the discount on any singles, little singles, or mini-rigs (just no jalapenos).
17604  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 25% off any new BFL order on: July 14, 2013, 10:25:40 PM
This is non-transferable so you would have to trust that I order the products to be shipped to your address.  I have a long trading history here and can provide lots of references...

If no large single order can be found, I would also be open to a "group buy" of sorts where I ship out the ordered units if there is enough interest.

Whatever needs to happen, I'll do.  I want the right capsule too.  Smiley

I think the p2pool v13 switchover is now just waiting for the Nasty nodes (since it has such a large percentage of network power). Any plans for when that may happen?
EDIT: boom! I saw nasty upgraded, the switchover should happen shortly. Hopefully more asics come on board now...

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.  Smiley
17607  Other / Meta / Section for established vendors? on: July 13, 2013, 10:18:09 PM
The goods section is full of gems but it's sometimes hard to find the reputable vendor threads as they tend to get buried over time.  I think there should be a goods subsection for established vendors.  BeesBrothers, casascius & amagimetals come to mind as a few of these legitimate vendors offering good products on an ongoing basis that should have their threads easily findable.
17608  Economy / Goods / Re: [3/20][GROUP BUY #2] Casascius 1oz Silver Physical Bitcoin Rounds (2013) on: July 12, 2013, 11:05:52 PM
Also people have been saying the coins are 30mm?? Are the air tites 39mm the wrong ones?

I ordered the suggested ones that have the white foam insert ring.  That's probably where the other 9mm comes from.  If there are any issues, I'll work to resolve them.  Smiley
17609  Economy / Goods / Re: [3/20][GROUP BUY #2] Casascius 1oz Silver Physical Bitcoin Rounds (2013) on: July 12, 2013, 10:39:34 PM
Any word on the coins?

I received an email from casascius this morning.  He said the coins are being put together and should be shipped soon.

PM sent.  If group buy #2 works out, I'd be interested in 2 coins.

Thanks!

Payment received and OP updated.

I'm not that into mining, but does P2P charge a fee?

As stated above, P2Pool does not charge a mandatory fee.  That being said, we are donating 0.9% of both BTC & LTC earnings toward the future development of P2Pool.  I see this as us doing good.  I do believe we would be slightly more profitable mining with one of the large pools and withholding donations, but I personally would rather do what is best to support the community and Bitcoin decentralization/development in general.

I've received a few questions regarding the BitFunder account and wanted to assure everyone that I am using 2-factor authentication on the account.  I assume this is the thread that generated some concern: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=251051.0

I was actually expecting double the donation.  Then I remember the ASICs have only been online for 4 days

Our P2Pool luck has been below the norm since we got the ASICs running as well.  Hopefully we catch a lucky streak soon.  You can monitor us and our P2Pool luck using the following link: http://p2pool.info/  - It also makes a cash register sound each time a block is found.  Smiley

So are the coins shipping to you from casascius now?

I placed the order several days ago, but haven't received any shipping information yet.  I assume they are on the way, or will be shortly.

If this doesn't fill I am down for just getting 2 more full coins.

It's filled.  Smiley  Already ordered as well.  Should be arriving soon.

Group Buy #2 is now open.
