I have some ideas for speeding up the estimates script.  Once those are implemented I should be able to update the user stats much more frequently.

Awesome! I look forward to seeing that, Smiley. Thanks for being an active dev; it's something that's seen somewhat seldom as of late.

Yeah, I just had an "oh shit" moment while looking at the db..  See if you can see what I found wrong here:

| id       | time                | rem_host     | username             | our_result | upstream_result | reason | solution | block_num | prev_block_hash                              | useragent | difficulty |
+----------+---------------------+--------------+----------------------+------------+-----------------+--------+----------+-----------+----------------------------------------------+-----------+------------+

No difficulty?

No, difficulty is there, it got cut off when I copy/pasted.

Hint: It's a performance-related thing.

Could you take a look at the multipool graphs when you get a chance? The pie chart has different data than the bar graph, or one has mislabeled data. It'd be nice if they covered the same coins.

Once I add FTC to the bottom graph it will all be correct.  I can't add it right now because it has some NULL entries that are messing up the display and I can't be bothered to go fix those lines in the DB. Smiley  It should be fixed by tonight.

This is in response to the complaints about the mmcFE based pools we've been using.  We are fed up with them too!.  Check out the new pools.. they are working perfectly!

What are the new pools using?  Looks like mmcFE as well?

Yes I used the front end,  But changed the guts.  Some of the mysql queries in the old code were ridiculous and probably the source of much trouble.

If you want to see how they work.. try the fastcoin pool for a while.  The blocks are quick and you will understand why this system is way better quickly.
No guessing.. you get pretty much what the estimates say.  If anything, you get more.  Also the system pays out the entire block. In the old code there was no allowance for blocks that could be more than the normal value (transaction fees sometimes added).  The old system would fail under certain circumstances.  I've run this system under every senario and got it working perfectly for every situation.
I started with this simple system because it is much less likely to error out or make mistakes.

I was just wondering because I started with simplecoin on my pool and I've pratically rewritten the whole thing and yes, the queries were atrocious.

Glad to know that mmcFE is pretty horrible as well because I've spent quite a bit of time cursing myself for not using it in the first place Smiley

Could we take LTC out of the switching pool?  I lost over 2500 shares because the size of the current block causing them to 'expire'.  I'm not sure why it's profitability is so high when the diff is up and LTC/BTC is down!  It's good to help it along but not if the shares evaporate because of the round size!

Just my 0.02 LTC...

Hmm, estimates are actually broken right now.  Not sure what the problem is, but it's related to a change I made last night.

And, they're fixed..  Not sure what the issue was..  Cronjobs had a MySQL error but when I ran the script from the command line, it ran ok.  And it seems to have been running OK since.

How often are the site stats updated btw? Would help to have some sort of like timer that tells how long before the next update, instead of having to refresh randomly in the hopes that things are updated, and not knowing how old the stats are, :p.

Pool stats (upper right) are updated every minute.  For user stats (upper left), the script runs every 10 minutes, but some of the stuff is cached in memcache.

No possibility of turning your pool back on this?

Weird...the hashrate is creeping back up.

If it gets on an exchange I'll turn the pool back on.

1793  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: hypothetical, how would you turn 2000 bitcoins into cash? on: June 11, 2013, 07:38:24 PM
Sorry that's not entirely clear to me.

By default it is 1,000$ per day and 10,000$ per month.
Without the apostille thing, just as a verified user, is it extendable? Up to?...

What is an apostille letter exactly, in this context?

How to change these limites? Write to their support?

Yes I had to write to their support to get my limits lifted to $10k/$50k.

It didn't change automatically when I got verified.

At this hashrate we'll find (avg.) 4 LTC blocks per day.  It will average out as gnomicide said.

Any update on Eagles?

Silver or gold? Gold Eagles are shipping almost immediately, silver eagles are about 2 weeks delay at this time.

Silver, thanks.

You didn't lose it, the pool lost it.  Anyway, sorry Sad
1797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Things Litecoin Needs on: June 11, 2013, 04:44:05 PM
- a website similar to bitinstant that allows for cash deposits to be converted directly into litecoins and sent to an address

- increased traffic to Atlantis Marketplace

I look at it like a political election, bitcoin is the clear majority right now but litecoin is the closest second with like 15 independents all in a clusterfuck below that. If some things happen to make it equal to bitcoin in functionality, it is really the one coin that could skyrocket in value considering there's actually places to spend it on.

Am I the only one who is seeing this? Faster confirm times are such a godsend when transferring funds around. I got spoiled to be honest, had to move a small amount of btc today and might as well have watched a NASCAR race because I swear it took longer than usual.

Just look at it from a purely objective standpoint, and you'll see there is no difference between Bitcoin and Litecoin, just what people perceive their value to be.

Everyone working on litecoin projects put them on hold to make their own shitcoin, why do you think the value has dropped so much in the past few months.  Maybe now that the shitcoin gold rush is (almost?) over people will get back to those.

1K SXC for 2 LTC, anyone interested please PM me.

Have a feeling you're not going to get many takers.

An idea to raise money for the new server:

For every 10 LTC donated, you get 1 month of -10% fees (10% bonus)!

Someone with ~2200kH/s would get paid back in about 30 days (assuming everything stays as it is now). So it's basically a loan. Of course this will only work if you have enough people donating a % to cover the bonuses. Actually that favors people with higher hashrates and punishes those with lower. Hmm, maybe multiport should just have a 1% fee on it for the awesome service...

I thought about putting a fee on the multiport, unfortunately since it is a simple tcp redirect there is no way to reliably figure out who's using it let alone their hashrate and rewards.

I could switch to using stratum proxy rather than a redirect, I guess, or set up separate ports.  But it would still require a decent amount of coding to implement.

What is going on with FTC again?

Stats showing this: (confirmed/unconfirmed blocks are intermixed)

Code:
35,620       77                Tango       2013-06-11 07:52:44
35,566       Done              vlad        2013-06-11 06:21:11
35,563       Done              miner1234   2013-06-11 06:18:38
35,529       91                tr00g       2013-06-11 05:26:50
35,501       80                xorpheus    2013-06-11 04:32:42
35,462       119               roflmcsupsu 2013-06-11 03:30:10
35,451       Done              tokanbulu   2013-06-11 03:16:06

Where blocks 35529, 35501, 35462 orphaned?

Ahh, I see what happened.. I wasn't pulling enough transactions in the script, to update the confirms on those blocks.  They should be fixed now.
