So now they're banning anyone who mentions how shoddy their IPO was on the Google groups forum.

1784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] MAIDSAFE PROOF OF LEGITIMACY [POL] IPO REMEDY on: May 05, 2014, 04:51:40 AM
Where are the mastercoin investors? All the investors I see say they invested with BTC. Even the maidsafe team only invested with BTC apparently.
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: May 05, 2014, 03:53:48 AM
So maidsafe did the best they could and still managed to botch the campaign so miserably. I wonder what they'll botch next.

We will make sure everyone gets fair treatment and BTC backers are well looked after. Mad just now, the computers are not quick enough, but I will be back to post soon. It's unbelievable and everyone is gonna be happy I think

Fair indeed  Undecided

The place where I live, only around 10% of the population is Muslim. Yet, most of the restaurants serve only Halal meat. I find this very irritating, that our rights are being trampled in favor of a vocal minority.

How exactly does a restaurant catering to certain people constitute a trampling of your rights? Businesses are free to cater to whatever demographic they wish. I'm sure you can find restaurants that cater to you and your ilk, and if not then hey, there's a great business idea for you. I'm sure many people in the middle east aren't too happy having the 'American dream' exported to them via the greatest arsenal of weaponry mankind has ever seen. The western world has murdered and denied the most basic human rights to countless people in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere and you're irritated that a few restaurants in your area choose to serve halal meat because it's good for their business? Gee, I wonder how those people who had their entire lives destroyed by the defenders of 'freedom and liberty' must feel compared to your major dilemma...

Who cares right? It's not like they're humans or anything, just savages living in the stone age, much like the aboriginals and blacks of yesteryear.

Folks will feel safer to use a bunch of codes to buy their condoms online, but only after the blessing from their spiritual leader, praying with their hands hovering an unplugged Linksys 54G router...

The Fatwa Against Women Touching Bananas and Other Stupid Islamic Orders

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/12/10/the-fatwa-against-women-touching-bananas-and-other-stupid-islamic-orders.html

Quote
“If women wish to eat these food items, a third party, preferably a male related to them such as their a father or husband, should cut the items into small pieces and serve,” the cleric supposedly dictated.

That story is fake.
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] MAIDSAFE PROOF OF LEGITIMACY [POL] IPO REMEDY on: May 02, 2014, 05:30:39 AM
This would probably set MS apart from all other IPO's, in the world, ever, and set a precedent of all IPO in crypto in the future. It would set the bar. It would also make MS be legit, and avoid endless scam at ts genesis

I invested 1 btc into this IPO because I find the concept interesting and it looks like it has potential. I think maidsafe knew that they screwed up the ipo, but it seems they're not willing to compensate the btc investors because it would eat further into the money they raised. I think it's in all of our interests (investors/maidsafe) to discuss this and reach a resolution as soon as possible, as it may grow into a bigger issue later on if left unchecked.

1789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Halal Cryptocurrency? on: May 02, 2014, 01:15:16 AM
Is there a Halal Cryptocurrency, since Bitcoin mining is more and more gambling, this would not be Halal.

But if you create a cryptocurrency without interest, gambling etc;  around 25 % of the world could use this coin.

Idea or not?

Hans Sturkenboom

Holding btc doesn't incur interest. The value of gold and silver go up and down and they were used as currency for over 1000 years in the Islamic world. Muslims in the Sahara used to use seashells as currency because they were non-existent in the desert and required difficult journeys to acquire.

The fiat currency system that's around right now isn't halal; banks that deal in usury, printing non-stop paper with imaginary values, putting pictures of dead guys on those papers, etc. Many Muslim scholars agree that dealing with usurious banks (pretty much all of them), is haram/forbidden except in cases of necessity (ie. Job that requires bank account to get paid, no safe place to store money, etc).

There's a middle east btc exchange already in the works.

You do know that a lot of medications contain animal products too right? And a lot of soaps have animal fats in them.

Most soft pills have animal gelatin in them.

Even some baked goods have L-cysteine from Chinese people's hair Wink

1791  Economy / Speculation / Re: is Bitcoin a wave or a particle? on: April 28, 2014, 03:24:01 PM
I used to think about two trading sentiments greed-fear ... but actually is easier to me think in terms of euphoria-depression ... the crypto currency market sounds like it's made by pump-dumpers-wolfs ... and I am kind of long term personality investor ... Tongue Embarrassed ... so sell on euphoria and buy on depression ... Roll Eyes

Looks like we're at the anxiety level right now, with the holders getting anxious and annoyed at China.
1792  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC drop to next level coming...bail the F out now! on: April 28, 2014, 03:16:38 PM
The ones who are buying and holding now will be trillionaires shortly

Why not quadrillionaires? No need to be excessively bearish Tongue

1793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think the btc-e flash crash will be retraced? on: April 28, 2014, 02:59:19 PM
We would need a whale to dump a large amount of coins at once to have a repeat of that last flash crash. I wonder if the seller made a mistake or maybe they were getting rid of stolen coins.

Who said anything about miners? Obviously the miners deserve to turn some profit for their work. This is exactly what I'm talking about. I state the obvious and people ask irrelevant questions about miners and how long it took me to figure this out. Maybe try to counter my points and bring some meaningful discussion to the table.
Stating the obvious is bringing something meaningful to the table, though?

It is when many people are in denial and need a reality check.
1795  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC falling rapidly today!!! on: April 25, 2014, 03:12:52 PM
Reading some of these posts, it looks like people are starting to get angry. All these hodlers were patting each other on the back and loving the Chinese when they were pumping their yuan into btc. Now it's suddenly F$#@ China! These people don't want the world to adopt btc because it's superior to the current fiat system, they want mass adoption simply so they can become rich. This blind greed is indeed negative news and bad for btc. If this is the attitude prospective btc buyers are going to see from many of the holders, don't expect many people adopting bitcoin.
Please suggest a system by which miners do not turn a profit without compromising the security of the network.

If we go below $400 again, I don't think the market will recover for a while. Looking at the pattern for the last while, we've been setting lower highs.

Smoothies aren't really good for you. Far too much sugar.

If you buy them, probably, but they're healthy if you make them yourself.

How so? Fruits are full of natural sugars and liquidating loads isn't good. Just fruit juice is worse  though.

Our body needs somewhere between 120 and 200 grams of natural sugars per day.

Our bodies can convert complex carbs into glucose, so we certainly don't need that much sugar. Everybody is different and you can't expect that different people will thrive on the same diet. Some people's bodies need more meats, or sugars, or fats. Some people can't synthesize certain essential amino acids, some can't digest certain grains properly, etc.

Almost anything is possible, isn't that correct?

Even btc going to negative value?
