You have to provide collateral that can easily be sold for $7000 should you not pay back.

I have my Credit Card on that account and my address. I guess its the same as putting up a paypal account right?

How would someone sell that for $7000?  You would just cancel the credit card.

Is there anything wrong with my request Vod?, Thanks. Smiley

Well, do you collect collateral from people before you lend them coins?

0.3 LTC a day on a 7970 is very good.

17847  Economy / Lending / Re: 2 month loan - 2.5 BC - Full dox & collateral offered on: January 11, 2014, 06:30:46 AM
That was super fast.  Thanks you guys!

I didn't realize "escrow" is used for loans?  I thought collateral goes straight to the loaner... doesn't that make sense in the case of collateral?  Why would a third party need to hold collateral?

I'll close this up!

Scams work both ways...  a person can offer a loan and ask for collateral - then simply disappear with the collateral.   Undecided
17848  Economy / Lending / Re: 2 month loan - 2.5 BC - Full dox & collateral offered on: January 11, 2014, 06:21:55 AM
110 LTC.
My drivers license, a pay stub from my employer, if you require.

I'd like to get this done tonight.  No shady ****, just a straight loan!

Sorry, I missed that in your original post, that's why I deleted my post.    Undecided

You have collateral, you should get the loan!  Good luck!

Do they restart regularly after a set amount of time?

My first guess would be heat.
17850  Other / Off-topic / Re: This article is hilarious now.... on: January 11, 2014, 05:18:45 AM
Other than the implication of a BTC "fall", I still think it's a good write up in providing an intro to newbies wanting to adopt it...

I agree.  I think the article was well written, and explained bitcoin well.

It's more that SMF hasn't seen a new version in 2 years. It itself is old and busted. But I'm sure Theymos is using all that donation BTC to build something better... Roll Eyes

He actually is.  He has hired a firm to program a new forum from scratch.
17852  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan or Investment - 2BTC Needed on: January 11, 2014, 04:23:57 AM
Ok I understand the concern. I will have to find alternate ways of obtaining the needed amount of bitcoins to launch my website. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

First of all, do you NEED bitcoins to launch your website?  Can you not find service providers that will take your cash?  Simply sell some of your possessions to raise the capital.  If you really need bitcoins, you can buy them at an exchange.
17853  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan or Investment - 2BTC Needed on: January 11, 2014, 04:17:23 AM
I have no sufficient collateral quite honestly. I'm mainly searching for someone who is willing and able to invest into my new website rather than a loan, hence me asking for a PM from interested persons who want to hear my business model.

Understand that you will NOT get a loan without collateral, no many how many topics you make up.  You are new and too likely to disappear with the coins.
17854  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan or Investment - 2BTC Needed on: January 11, 2014, 04:02:38 AM
Hello, I am looking for a loan of approximately 2BTC in order to launch my new site. Please PM me for more information regarding the site so we may discuss your potential investment or loan (whichever you decide).

I believe that my site will be quite successful.

Thanks,

Hello, you will not get this loan unless you provide sufficient collateral up front.

I totally agree and wasn't expecting to receive any loans from members here due to my standing, I was just looking for ideas on how to obtain said loan.

Why this second loan request then?
17855  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: so whats the big deal about bitcoin anyway? on: January 11, 2014, 02:59:34 AM
I'm a cryptography nerd but i just don't understand what is so special about bitcoin. care to feel me in? i saw on the news yesterday that Overstock was accepting bitcoins now, so it must be pretty special?

Tell me the truth, is it legit or is it just another "false sense of security" like paypal and debit cards.

False sense of security?

You're a cryptography nerd?Huh

Those two statements contradict each other.  You should understand how bitcoin is currently secure.

Has anyone else noticed a decrease in hashing power when running a miner over remote desktop (Windows 7)?
17857  Economy / Lending / Re: 4.5 BTC for mining equipment - collateral can be arranged on: January 11, 2014, 02:19:52 AM
Share the domain names.  Someone may feel they are worthy and offer you the loan.

Don't expect people to PM you asking for them...
17858  Economy / Lending / Re: [NEED] 0.1 BTC on: January 11, 2014, 01:45:27 AM
I was trying to say it before - that maybe someone want my tablet if WORST case scenario hapepns and he will not wont +4% percent more.. Wink

No.... you mail your table to the lender BEFORE you get any coins.   That's how collateral works.
17859  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Uruguay legalized Marijuanna, goes into effect April on: January 11, 2014, 01:37:10 AM
I agree, but he's probably just trolling to be honest.

I doubt it.  Impaired driving is a very selfish act.  Selfish is a word that describes dank perfectly.

Still haven't heard back from the police.  I'll give them a call on Monday to file a complaint against him if I still have heard nothing.
17860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help with a HIS R9 290X on: January 11, 2014, 01:27:59 AM
GPU overheats or not enough power. Monitor temperature, add powertune +20.

That is not it.  Sad

I had this 290X running in my bedroom.  It was very noisy, very hot, and produced 880 khash/sec.

Then I moved it to the basement.  Now it is not noisy, it's not hot, and it produces 700 khash/sec.  Tried 2 different computers.

The only difference is now the miner is running via remote desktop.

I wonder if remote desktop limits graphics resources to the OS so one person cannot monopolize the system?

Anyone have any idea?
