So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

Poor him. If that might not happened i think he's now rich. But, it give us as a lesson. Be thoughtful and do a way to keep the username and password
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can ruin a Country? on: May 13, 2018, 05:40:23 PM
Well, i just thought, if bitcoin become a currency of one Country, maybe it can destroy that country? Think of it, Bitcoins do not have a tax, and tax are used by the government to make that country a good one, without tax, what will be used to spend and make that country a good one?

What do you think?
Oppositely, bitcoin provide a lot of opportunities to all the people who are investing here. They have a chances to make their life become more higher than to what status their facing now. To all the students who investing here. Apparently we should say it as a life saver and helpful.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks and governments scared of Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2018, 05:26:35 PM
So many countries now were prohibiting the use of virtual cryptocurrencies. And to think that many unemployed individuals were beginning to uplift their way of living because of their dealings with cryptocurrencies. Banks doesn't expressly say why it is banning the use of Bitcoin.
What do you think is the reason behind this?
Because banks and government known that bitcoin can defeat them. They're afraid of what if's i think. Another, if everyone knew about blockchain technology the banks become useless.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Listening To False News... on: May 13, 2018, 05:19:24 PM
The current "crash" is caused by one bad "news" after another. A lot of them are the false or twisted truth.

For example, today, once again "China Full ban crypto". What the... Why is it causing another crash?? Why is it even "news"?

It was already banned in China back in September 2017. All trading platforms suspended trading in September. Anyone from China who still trade Crypto must be using foreign platforms. Sure, they reported that China added all crypto exchange sites to Great FireWall. So what? These people have VPNs! When I was in China, everyone who visits foreign sites use VPNs. Yes, China banned VPN as well a long time ago. So what? Everyone is still using it. Just like ignoring the traffic light is illegal in China, but at every intersection, you will see people ignore the red lights... the truth! Just because it is "illegal", does not mean no one will do it.

So just this (one) news of China banned Crypto, it was repeatedly used to crash the Crypto market (4 or 5 times). Do not fall for it!
1. Summer 2017, China banned ICO.
2. September 2017, China banned crypto trading.
3. November or December? China became unfriendly to crypto mining (Large-scale miners moved oversea already)
4. January 2018. China banned websites of foreign crypto exchanges. (VPN!!!)
5. Today, "China Full Ban Crypto"... (Really?)

So what is next?
"China really ban crypto"?
"China really full ban crypto"?
"China really really full ban crypto"[IMG]
"China will jail anyone who trades crypto"[IMG]
"China will execute anyone who trades crypto"?
"China will nuke every country who trade crypto"[IMG]??

Stop spreading this nonsense. What's done was already done in September 2017. Nothing has changed ever since. NOTHING really changed in the last 4~5 months.

Yellow journalism at its best.

Same goes for Korean and Indian news. South Korea did not really ban crypto. Just one guy wanted to ban it. It was not approved, nor implemented. So far they have only added regulations that people can no longer trade anonymously. So what? Didn't Coinbase, Kraken, Bittrex etc. US-based platforms all require our IDs and photos?

India also did not ban crypto. Just a minister made some unfriendly speech toward crypto. No real "ban" whatsoever.

From the look of it, someone or some groups are trying hard to make the prices go down. The sad thing is, people are falling for it. The same China "news" was used on 5 occasions to cause the market crash while nothing was really changed or happened. Korean news was used on at least 2 occasions.

The bottom line is, let's just ignore all the stupid "news". Use our brains. Not hearsay from yellow journalism. It is getting annoying to have every little "news" to impact the market price.
If you really believe in bitcoin basically you will not believe to all the the fake news where at the first place it's obviously hoax! Research first or prove it first to your self if this is really true. Be wise and keep investing in bitcoin.
185  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin & College students . on: May 13, 2018, 05:12:45 PM
I believe that a huge portion of the the crypto community are still young college students that don't have any necessities that need another source of income aside from their scholarships / the money they are getting from their parents .
And apart from spending their cryptos on either betting or purchasing goods/video games from online markets , many of these students didn't make plans for what they'll do with their coins in the future.
I myself have had many thoughts about hodling and launching a business as soon as i graduate with the coins in my possession , yet i'm not exactly sure what i'll be doing ..
So i'm really curious about :
- On what do you spend your coins apart than partying/gambling/paying for tuition loans ?
- Do you have any future plans for your coins if you are hodling any ?

Yes, bitcoin are helpful not only to college students it's benefited to everyone who invest here. I've known few friends of mine who supporting their own, paying their tuation fees, and more motivatedly their can survive alone just because of using this bitcoin.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: May 13, 2018, 05:01:00 PM
If that's even his name. Just read the bitcoin wiki on him and I'm amazed. Nobody knows him.

Long time passed since he last posted in here. Why? "Busy"? I don't think so. He was active when bitcoin needed support but since the slashdot...
Also, it seems has knowledge in many areas, especially economy. He doesn't act like the average human. Not taking advantage out of his creation, leaving without telling anything. Is he even a single person or a group?

How can someone create something so great and not stepping out to get the credit?
Still unfigured the one who own bitcoin. But people said satoshi nakamoto create it and we believe from it. Satoshi nakamoto was by the unknown person based on what i've known. And satoshi's died when the bitcoin begin (i think).

188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why China banned bitcoin? on: May 13, 2018, 09:20:55 AM
China's three major virtual currencies trading platform Bitcoin China, Coin Network, OKCoin currency have announced that they will cease trading business, the Chinese regulatory authorities so resolute and beyond imagination. I would like to know why China prohibits bitcoin. What is the reason, who can tell me?
This is the news link I saw before:http://www.myzaker.com/article/59bf055a9490cb703500002b/
From what i've known, china still mining. Maybe the issue is a hoax because china still using cryptos. Try to determine the real and hoax. Apparently, china is the most profitable by using this bitcoin.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government and Bitcoin on: May 13, 2018, 09:14:13 AM
Why, until now, government all over the world still doesn't trust bitcoin?

I think maybe the government are at the episode where dilemma really hits them or they still finding about the advantages and why they can trust this cryptocurrency and how they should trust it.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT IF the GOVERNMENT wins over BITCOIN? on: May 13, 2018, 09:06:37 AM
Be ready and aware that 2018 is the year of regulatory reckoning. Countries around the world are trying to determine how they are going to treat cryptocurrencies. Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) has halted several ICOs and hinted at the need for greater crypto regulation.

I am into cryptocurrency because of freedom, I can't deny to myself that I have worries regarding this issue. And as an investor, I really have no choice but to stay with crypto once the governments around the world have control to cryptocurrencies (if that became possible).

So as much as we can, also invest with physical properties with what you've earned. For we don't know what will happen next with our money in the digital world.

This is not an advice. It's simply a shared idea.

How about you? What do you have in mind? Undecided

For me, government impossibly win over this cryptocurrency! Government try to defeat btc several times but they can't because we still support and love it. Pointedly, people who loved and benefited this cryptocurrency won't let happened to defeat this and beside this crypto running through internet.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Secure Bitcoins? on: May 13, 2018, 08:54:28 AM

192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment Strategy on: May 13, 2018, 08:50:08 AM
Greetings! I am planning to invest $5,000 in cryptocurrency but I do not know how to invest. And where should I invest? - in Bitcoin, in alternate cryptocurrency, or in ICO? I’m asking for an investment strategy for professional traders or investors out there.
I think the best strategy is to gain knowldege about bitcoin and increase it about investing here. So that, you can make your self to become a professional trader or investor too.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin govern the whole world? on: May 13, 2018, 08:26:16 AM
Nowadays bitcoin reach other countries and it is use in some transactions and very helpful in some country's economic.
What you can say?
Can bitcoin govern the world of business market, govern the world of every payments as it is moving to make it the future money.?
I think no, tho, we say that bitcoin can help economically and transactions and can use as a payment bitcoin is a decentralized system so, it can't governing the world.
194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expected predictions on: May 04, 2018, 03:52:18 PM
I will wait for that time to arrive, because I believe the bitcoin price by the end of 2018 will soar.
I will keep the spirit to collect coins for my future.
although this month, bitcoin prices are worse than December of 2017, but I still believe it.
Can not be denied, the growth of Bitcoin value in 2017 is arguably fantastic. However, this criticism of cryptocurrency is analogous to a 'bubble' (because it continues to fly high but can 'erupt' anytime)

The year 2017 seems to be the period of proof for Bitcoin as the most calculated cryptocurrency. One climax occurs when the digital currency recorded a record high with the value (USD 19,796) on December 17 last.
Experts also predict that with these achievements, Bitcoin has the potential to record a much higher value next year.
"Bitcoin can reach (USD 60,000) by December 2018," said Mike Dumont, Senior Editor of Bitcoin.com

We believe that bitcoin someday will become free and the other people who haven't knowledge about this might someday will become opened and part of this cryptocurrency
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you forget your bitcoin wallet password? on: May 04, 2018, 12:39:03 PM
once you lose your bitcoin wallet you can not get it back or it can not recover again, you should be careful with your bitcoin wallet, just back up your bitcoin wallet and write down on your Cellphone Memo, Messenger and gmail so he does not disappear.

Yes, everyone should have a backup or everything will be gone. Also i would say precaution is better than cure so you can also share these type of details with one of your trusted friend or family so that he/she could help you in an emergency.

Good idea Smiley
Once you forget your bitcoin wallet password the one who managed the ledger can't access to your bitcoin account.

197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than gold on: April 29, 2018, 06:22:43 PM
From an investment point of view, bitcoin is more about gold than it is about other currencies. That's because as an asset, bitcoin and gold have a lot in common. Both are limited to supply, both have functions to use, and many believe that, despite their large price fluctuations, they remain a good store of value. Compared to gold and currency investment returns in the past five years, the currency's performance is far better than the so-called precious metals, gold year loss than 6%, the currency of the annualized rate of return is 155%. These rich returns show that bitcoin has excited investors about the prospect of putting money into such a new asset class.

Compared with the gold standard, the value of the currency rising and proven performance, investors can be used to measure the investment of the world's leading digital currency future opportunity and risk indicators.
Earning here is more than equivalent to a gold. Gold are rare, bitcoin can access easily. People badly need easy things work and earn. Obviously people might choose bitcoin 'cause of easy earning yet much helpful.
198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I Be Scared Of Hackers If I Have Lot of BTC. on: April 27, 2018, 03:23:20 PM
I imagine that those who own a lot of BTC never leave on exchanges, or very little and very well scattered
Yes of course you should be, because hackers can get your btc by simple click. Just keep clicking many sites that not familiar to you. Just be careful and keep your password very well.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the government ban bitcoin? on: April 27, 2018, 03:17:13 PM
Bitcoin has been announced since the day it was invented, and it will be suppressed by governments in the future and declared illegal currency. Is the basis, the further development of the currency will be in the interests of the threat to traditional monetary and ruler, not the rights to cryptography currency once governments announced that the currency is illegal, its price will produce volatile in the short term, and may even crash. At the same time, the government will force the bitcoin exchange to be shut down, so that bitcoin can only be sold in private, and its exchange capacity will be badly hit. Will the government ban bitcoin?
Yes there is a possibility that government will ban bitcoin,  but I think it is improbable to happen. Here in Philippines,  most of the population didn't know bitcoin,  those who know bitcoin are actually aware of what bitcoin is and they know how useful it is.  Also,  the jurisdiction must study and they will ending up understanding that even though bitcoin is sometimes used in illegal activities,  it is just like the paper money which I think is not the root of bad things but the greediness and bad mentality of humans is.
I know that there is a possibility of banning bitcoin by the government because some use it for illegal purposes. But i think it depends on country because some of country's here in asia already baned crypto currency.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin solve the worlds problem? on: April 27, 2018, 03:09:22 PM
Hello everyone!

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and worldwide payment system. It is the first decentralized digital currency, as the system works without a central bank or single administrator. The network is peer-to-peer and transactions take place between users directly, without an intermediary. These transactions are verified by network nodes through the use of cryptography and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. Bitcoin was invented by an unknown person or group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto and released as open-source software in 2009.

This invention of Satoshi Nakamoto incredibly stunning us, Bitcoin known as a revolutionary invention.

Can Bitcoin solve the worlds problem?

I cannot say that bitcoin can solve the problems of the world but im sure that in terms of financial, it can be. Also it can help unemployed people to earn money even if they aren't working.
