182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 21, 2024, 01:12:51 PM
Regardless the parent don't allow the kids to not gamble or not, stole someone money can't be a forgiven!
You can't forgive your own blood? I mean yes, stealing has some consequences especially if it was stolen by your son, but being unforgivable is quite harsh.

You don't have to be a mom, dad, grandmother, brother, sister, etc to know if stole someone money is right or not, imagine if I stole your money, are you fine with that?
On the other side, if your son can steal then there's probably something wrong on how you grew him up, maybe you are lacking of communication and guidance. There should be some kind of punishment for them but the blood stays in your veins.

Even he can earn money with the stolen money, I won't happy with that.
Stealing is stealing, regardless of anything.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: January 20, 2024, 02:49:08 PM
Casimero will just shut down by Inoue when this happened. Inoue is not a joke anymore while his skills is downgrade significantly base on both recent fight. I’m not sure anymore how he can beat Inoue when this match happened.
Still not impressive for me, Inoue's biggest fight was with  Donaire and if you watch it closely either of them could have won that fight if their punches are going in. I've never seen bloody Inoue after his succeeding fights. I can't compare Inoue to some of the fearless fighter I've known, coz upon checking he didn't beat any known fighters!

This will still be a hype if Casimero last fight resulted in a convincing manner. He might suffer the same fate of Tapales if he is still living in a dream that he is the only one who can stop Inoue.
Casimero want him, and if you look at the titles, Inoue can steal Casimero's belt but why don't he fight Casimero?
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social aspects of online gambling on: January 18, 2024, 07:01:45 PM
I don't consider writing messages in an online chat to be a true form of "socializing".
Yeah based on definition socializing is more than just an exchange of words. So merely chatting about how is it going, or how are you doing isn't a form of socializing.
If you want to socialize just go out and meet people in person. A casino isn't supposed to be the place, where you could find real friends.
I don't know, but OP should have realize that casino isn't built to socialize to others, it is built to entertain and gamble. Sure you could find friends on casino, but it's just a bonus part of it.

It's true that some casinos have chatrooms, but I couldn't care less about this feature. Maybe some people are more extroverted, so they want to talk with someone while gambling. I'm definitely not extroverted and talking(or writing messages) to other people while gambling is very distracting to me.
That's casinos way to show that they are open, they let people talk on the chatroom but that's the end of it. Most of the times it causes distraction, so I couldn't care less about it.
185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not use more than 2x leverage on: January 18, 2024, 06:19:14 PM
Leverage is not important, risk management is important.

It makes no sense to talk about leverage in a context where trade-risk in relation to your account size and position-size is not mentioned.
Agree, totally non-sense if the size and risk is not being considered. If you this post by Vitalik, 'don't use greater than 2x leverage' if you got $30 in your account would you even dare to follow him?

Once you have calculated those two parameters, then can you evaluate if your leverage is too high.
I'm not sure how to calculate to know if your leverage is high, too high, too low, or just right enough. I guess this is pretty subjective for one to know.

Leverage is just a tool, nothing more.
Hmm, I guess yeah, that's just what it is. It is a tool we need to know how to use, and use wisely.

Most of my bets are influenced by social media posts, Facebook, and reels from various content creators. So if I were to suggest, I prefer video content than written ones, it feels more engaging and listening is just the best way to know something for me. But if you are going to create content for sports betting, make sure it does not copy someone's content make it as original as possible so you could mark to your audience making you more competitive among your competition. Try to see things in different angle of every sports!

189  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education and why it should be a priority. on: January 15, 2024, 06:26:13 PM
There are things that are not taught in school because you can learn them in life. While I believe that financial literacy is important for everyone, teaching it to younger people is inappropriate, that's why have a decision to make in college. Oversimplification of things especially in money being taught to, let's say teens who generally don't make money is useless, perhaps would make them psychological unrealistic on how the world works. Learning is a process, you don't take a physics class only in day one, and learning things comes with experience.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 14, 2024, 12:45:37 PM
I remember my friend when I asked him this question, I said " Why do you keep gambling when you don't have a day job?" and his response was a little bit off for me, he said that he have a friend in Hawaii who gives him fund to gamble and then return it with 10% then a day later I learned that he has a lot of loan from our friends. That's when I realized he's addicted to it, and his friend from Hawaii is named Ego and Unresponsible. It is very sad when we know one of our friend gets addicted to gambling, and they started a fake reason just to continue doing it.

194  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 12, 2024, 05:48:38 PM
Everything that lies in the future is certainly gambling. Most particularly for futures trading where trading made in the future most likely become unpredictable, which means you don’t hold fixed outcome when you trade on it. Also, engaging in futures trading for non-pros or non-professionals in trading will highly end up like gambling. For safer option, avoid futures trading when you think you are not that capable and skillful enough.
Many people trade futures without having any knowledge because they think futures trading only requires guessing up or down and looks quite simple.
Basically, trading is just like that we are only guessing what could happen in the market, in any market but these guesses should be backed up with some historical movement although it doesn't always happen. One bad or great news can practically change in seconds. If you're new, just don't think that you learn everything overnight, it will kill you (not literally)

But when they always lose, they will understand that futures trading requires good trading skills to analyze and manage when trading. whatever money is used for futures trading will be lost if one is not alert and does not have any plan.
Some people may find futures trading challenging given the risk it contains but let people who don't know it learn their lesson by going into it.

How about the first career triple-double of Victor Wembenyama?

That was good. I think if Victor continues to progress, we will see more than one triple-double from him, but not with ten assists, but with ten blocks. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes even a quadruple-double one day, as players like Olajuwon and Robinson have done before.
If his teammates continue lobbing him it's gonna be an easy record for Victor, the thing is this team compose of young players who wants to showcase their ability on the court and they wouldn't let Victor finish all the plays, which I think they should if they do really want to win a game.

The other match of the night for me was between the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix, and Los Angeles continued its inconsistent play as before and lost 109-127 at home. When Anthony Davis and LeBron scored few points, defeat became inevitable.
Milwaukee, second in the Eastern Conference, defeated leader Boston at home with a score of 135-102.

It was another pathetic performance by the Lakers. It looks like they didn't even try to beat the Suns in this game, as no Lakers player even managed to score 20 points.
I don't know, but for the past weeks of watching Lakers play, I don't think they really want the championship this year. Trade deadline is coming, do they do this to reason out for player trade?

198  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weak or wise? on: January 09, 2024, 07:27:23 PM
Do you accept to be a weak trader or a wise trader when you exit a trade taking some profit, but not the entirety of what you want on your TP?
I always prefer to close trades with minimal profit when there is a risk that the market can swing in the opposite direction.
I wonder why some people call it a bad call or worst a weak trader when in fact those kind of trader have taken a profit based on their contentment. Ask all the experienced trader and ask if it happened to them because for sure, it happened to them.  Market is volatile, swings will detached your position in a second. Take a profit when you have the opportunity.

Always feel like smaller profits are better than no profits, if not potential loss. But at certain times when I am confident enough, I let the trades run and try to maximize the profits. It works sometimes and other times it doesn't but you have to live with it because that's how trading works.
Profit is profit, that's it. No need to label someone who makes a profit a weak trader.

200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we even need bitcoin mixers? on: January 09, 2024, 08:26:33 AM
Mixing sites have been promoted on this forum for a long time but I have never used them. I know how they work but I haven't needed to use them. And now mixing platforms have been banned by Theymos due to many illegal activities being done in them. So I'm not encouraged to use the mixer platform. these platforms are useful for those who want to make large transactions secretly but not important for users like me.
Been quite long time here as well, at first I'm curious how those platform works but fortunately I was able to use once, and basically it is just for privacy purposes, nothing's fancy if you are not a fan of publicity and you don't want your transaction to be tracked. Might as well this is the reason why government are giving some slap on it tagging as fraud. For normal people, who doesn't care about privacy it'll look like an unnecessary process to do, for some people it means security for them. Although let us not set aside the fact that money launderers use such platforms for illegal activities.
