181  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: October 09, 2013, 08:34:22 PM
I am just so curious which of these companies are going to make it let's say 20 years? Just imagine the kind of PR they can make our of it. MtGOX making funny advertisement with people exchanging Magic Cards in the early 2000ends. Or Lab_Rat still in the mining game with substantial amount of global hashrate. This is the reason I invest in any of these IPO's. For any sane investment in that decentralized space I would say there is not much that beats buy and hold Bitcoin. With all the other investments you are carrying risk of Bitcoin plus risk of third party not doing what might have been best for you. And the strategy with buy and hold has been extremely lucrative if you look at the past. I guess many miners will find themselves looking back and seeing that buy and hold would have been much more profitable than mining, especially with some recent investments into products by a three letter company which I would be very very surprised to see in 20 years. Then again, each miner adds value to each bitcoin. Therefore an investment of say 10 coins to mine 9 coins in total which are worth more than 10 had you kept them. Mining is a somewhat idealistic thing. I guess the early miners, the ones that mined when bitcoin had "no value" still have coin. They tend to be idealistic which is why they saw the value. This is why they hopefully, in their own best interest, sponsor/invest and grow the economy and the total value.

Do_It, Lab_Rat! Find the right ratio of btc reinvestment into smart mining gear. If mining can be profitable, one can find the right reinvestments at the right time. you can do it!

Could some more people panic-sell their shares for ~0.05BTC like people were doing earlier please? I wasn't quick enough...  Cry

Same here.

I think manual payout should not be such a problem for Lab-Rat. Just take the address list and multiply number of shares per address with dividend per share in a spreadsheet. Then make make a multi-output transaction to all these addresses. Not as easy as on Bitfunder but should work. I now it got mentioned many times before but please please make sure you are in control of the address which you registered with Bitfunder.
183  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.5) on: October 01, 2013, 04:44:44 AM
I also have problems with this latest version. I have Win7 64 4 gb ram and some quadcore processor. I installed and ran. The blockchain downloaded fine. The scan took forever and I finaly ended with aborting the scan after 14h. Progress bar was still showing 1%. With version 0.89.99.3 The scan was finished after 7h or maybe even earlier (i went to bed so I don't know exactly). Any sugestions? Should I have deleted some files or something before starting?
184  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.3) on: September 28, 2013, 06:43:27 AM
P.S -- Has no one played with the new backup center?  Come on!  It's so badass!

One back from the conference I'll spend some time on it. Have some other things to to do also but I am also excited about the new features.

fine with me. Maybe just print out a paper with instructions on how to get to 1e and stick it to the door of the other place.

Alright trying not to get overly complex here, but I'm a sucker for bars in foreign countries... Is this plan largely agreeable before I start publicizing it:

Wednesday the 25th: Nothing official, but for those that like to unwind after travel and still get the chance to meet Bitcoiners Paradox Coffee Shop in Jordaan starting at 9:00PM (has great reviews!) Site: http://www.paradoxcoffeeshop.com/ Map: http://goo.gl/bwQbVX

Thursday the 26th: Meet up for drinks and cigars at the sleek Bo Cinq Bar starting at 8:00 PM Site: http://www.bocinq.nl/ Map: http://goo.gl/tvxW79

Friday the 27th: Conference has started, and likely plans will evolve, but if nothing is set into motion come to the famous Cafe Sound Garden (rated top 10 bars) in Jordaan at 7:30 PM for networking and chitchat (only a few minutes walk from conference) Site: http://www.cafesoundgarden.nl Map: http://goo.gl/YulcMM

Will the coffeeshop be open? It states 10:00-20:00 every day.

I will arrive late today to Amsterdam. Any one wants to join to drink beers and speak about bitcoin at 21h this night? Grin

I will arrive at centraal station quite late (I guess around 23:00). I will therefore not go to the pre-event as it is a bit far to go at the hour. However, if any of you are somewhere central in a bar of coffeeshop please let me know by PM or in this thread and I might drop in if I'm not too tired. Anyone else staying at the Hans Brinker Hotel?
192  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.3) on: September 24, 2013, 04:43:58 AM
OK thanks for all the hard work Alan (and contributors and team):

Tested "Armory version 0.89.99.3-testing"
On: Windows 7 64 bit, 4 gb ram,
I had it scan the BC over night. This morning i got the message that bitcoin qt appears to be offline or something (sorry missed the screenshot). Armory was online though. I closed armory and reopened. I think it took even less than your 19 sec to download 1 block and go online straight away. very nice. Not a lot of testing apart from that. Will do more and also report on ram usage. First sight looks good.  Roll Eyes

Wow, btct shutting down? I wonder if the SEC got after them? this is going to bring everyone to bitfunder. not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing.. But, I do think that will bring more light to LRM and people will see the value and im confident that it will continue to be a popular bond...

Im in for whats ever best for LRM short term, especially long term..

Just another reason to support Open-Transactions. Please give some of your dividends to OT so We can have a truly decentralized exchange and smart contracting system. We will not have to worry about such shutdowns any longer or at least not as much.
194  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory Bitcoin Wallet Raises $600k led by Trace Mayer on: September 16, 2013, 11:46:31 AM
Congrats. Make sure Armory stays the best wallet. Oh and start a free T-Shirt promo!  Cheesy

I love to see that you can seriously earn a living from your hobby now. All the best.

Will LabRat invest in bitmine.ch 28nm technology?
196  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: September 06, 2013, 05:05:34 PM
I'll probably also need people to help with some testing this weekend Smiley

I'd be happy to help test. Is there anything in particular you need, or do you want people to just start using the new version?

Same here!

Armory - Fort Knox of Bitcoin
198  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: August 30, 2013, 12:57:04 PM

I think a lot of people thought they would have a lot of things by now... I was sure I'd bet on the right horse for such a long time, which makes it an even more bitter pill to swallow to only now discover that the people I've been defending all this time have, in fact, screwed me. Sad

I hear Ya.  The more I think about the future for me, Its heading out of owning mining equipment, and more investing into cloud mining ventures like LRM.   GPU , FPGA, ASIC mining was fun while it lasted, but the future is not there.
After this current clusterfuck with Bitsyncom, sadly, it has made my decision for me.

Cheers.

If it makes you feel any better it's probably still not as bad as having a relatively early order for a lot of Singles with BFL... I ordered Jalapenos for all my friends, and saw them arrive months ago, and they've made >300% back already. My Singles will probably never pay for themselves now and they were ordered at the same time (and for a lot more money!).

Still, I said from the start, high risk, high reward...  Cry

I was thinking of selling my 03.April.13 BFL order to LRM but I think until I get anything I will have to pay someone to dispose of them as waste. I was hoping to get them way before 28nm is anywhere near. Now my hope is that all the 28nm companies also take much more time then stated on their sites. That said, it seems that even the early jalapeno orders will not make back their money in terms of BTC. I was at the time (April 13) thinking that the BTC value was overrated (140$) and therefore spending them on hardware at that price was a smart move. Turns out it wasn't. I don't think I'll ever see 35 BTC with those again even when neglecting power cost. I was stupid enough to pay 600$ for express shipping for my 180GH. Over 4 BTC down the drain. So it seems with investments in the BTC space it is very difficult to reach profit if you think purely in BTC. It is hard to outperform just holding BTC. Especially if you deal with a company which constantly over-promises and under-performs.

However, I think LRM has potential as LR can diversify and can operate much more efficiently than we can at home.
199  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Profits are being incorrectly reported. on: August 26, 2013, 12:15:08 PM
Is anyone really in profit with BTC robot? I got an email which said "It`s so good its unbelievable.. the official bitcoin robot over at http://btcrobot.com/secret.php is making crazy gains its close to profit 6,000 now with a 10,000 usd account.. and all bitcoin robot members mirror the profits.."
I'm not in profit unless I count the increase in the price of bitcoin since I started. I deposited 10 bitcoins and my screen shows "Funds: 9.99 BTC, 1.02 USD, 1090.27 USD total." but "Weekly profit: $594.76, total profit: $594.76" just does not add up.  Huh
It appears to me that this must me some sort of "New math" taught in Russia.

Ya the profit displayed in the Robot doesn't take into account what you deposited yourself so its really incorrect. They told me they are thinking of addressing this on a future release. Lets hope so. But your profit number really doesn't make sense?? My profit number display my whole account value after I deposited 6 bitcoins which would make sense. My robot didn't trade till just recently after depositing the bitcoins on Aug 21. I have my robot set to aggressive.

So if you started with BTC only, like it seem most of us did, then it very easy to calculate real profit and also see if the strategy is better then just holding BTC.

Just calculate the following:

BTC on BTCe + (USD on BTCe/currentBTC price on BTCe)

This will show you if you are making profit BTC wise and if the Bot is trading better then just holding BTC. This will be the benchmark which I will apply. This I think would also be the correct kind of implementation to show profits. However, this might be difficult if someone started with mixed funds. They could still go back to point zero and calculate how much BTC the funds were worth back then and go on from that point.

edit: @BTCRobot team: one should be able to manually choose point zero in the GUI. And maybe also switch between USD and BTC profit view.
200  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: BTC Robot ~ 1st Bitcoin Robot 7 Licence Giveaway on: August 26, 2013, 12:04:09 PM
Is there any video proof it is actualy realy trading and not just faking trades to hide a ponzi?

You can see all trades it did in the BTCe account trade history. You can also see all orders which it placed. It looks like some initial problems were overcome. At least I thought it was good it didn't trade as long as the btc was going up that much. It will be interessting to see what will happen next.
