181  Economy / Reputation / Re: 'Not all 1xbit promoters are scammers' on: January 07, 2022, 05:07:23 PM
@OP: so let me get this straight: you think you shouldn't be called a scammer by promoting a scam because you feel entitled to it. I don't think so.
So you live in a shitty country. So do I.
But you're in a bad situation. So  am I. I've been unemployed since April  2020, and I'm literally desperate. Yet I don't cheat others just because I'm in a bad shape.

If there's one single thing I love about this forum, that's precisely the trust system. I've visited a 1xbit thread, and I love the fact I was warned before falling for it, and I'm grateful to those that took their time to report the scam for others' benefit.

Here's a few tips you can follow:

1. If you don't want to be called a scammer, don't scam.
2. If you have a problem, find an honest solution to it. There's always one, as difficult to find as it may be.
3. If you wanna have other people's trust, earn it. There's a saying in Spanish: "La verdad es un arbol de raices amargas, pero de frutos dulces" ("Truth is a tree with bitter roots, but sweet fruit"). Follow it. You will find out the fruit justifies the roots, every time.
4. Don't whine. If something bothers you, find the appropriate way to fix it.
5. The fact that "you haven't been scammed" by somebody doesn't mean they haven't scammed others.
6. You have problems. EVERYBODY has problems, but they don't feel entitled to harm others to solve them.
7. Every time you scam (or help scam) somebody, there's a HUMAN BEING in the other end that has been hurt because of you. Does that sound acceptable to you?

I don't remember there being a sort of "sats per word" rate or something though, so you're probably going in blind income-wise.

Doesn't matter, I'll look it up. Thank you mk4, that's great! Cool

Thank you OmegaStarScream
I didn't know about their rules. I'll contact them asap.

Oh, you mean on a voluntary basis? I'll look them up see if I can get things going. Thanks again. Smiley
184  Other / Off-topic / Re: New year resolutions on: January 07, 2022, 01:58:23 PM
Two things actually:

1. Get a job, or another way to honestly support myself (crypto maybe?).
2. Make a conscious effort to distance myself from stupid people. I keep getting upset for things I can't fix, and I'm gonna end up getting another stroke, and I can't afford that.

Your second resolution is necessary and it should be promptly executed to avoid a calamity happening to you. Please take care of yourself above all things. I hate being around stupid people too. They make you go insane.

Thank you Maestro75, it is being executed already. I try to stay away from the "politics and society" board, as I find it to be an idiot magnet, and personally I just avoid stupid people like the plague.
I think our biggest mistake is to try to reason with them, as nobody can be THAT stupid. I think they do it for shock value, just to "have fun" watching people waste their time on them. The "ignore" function is proving to be very useful in that regard.
185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which exchanges provide "learn & earn" programs? on: January 07, 2022, 01:38:04 PM
Thank you all for the replies.  Smiley
I have already signed up for the learn & earn program in coinbase, so I'm waiting...
In binance I already have an account, so I'm also waiting...
With Kucoin I'm having a problem: I signed up a while ago. Now I tried to sign in, and it's telling me the email or password is "incorrect". I tried to reset the password using my cellphone, and it won't happen. So then I tried to open another account using my cellphone, and it tells me "the cellphone is associated with another account"...  Roll Eyes
So let's say kucoin is "on hold" for now...

The problem with them requiring a credit card is not about them asking for a deposit. It's not gonna happen anyway.
The real problem is I don't have a credit card, and Argentinian law doesn't allow internet purchases on debit cards, so if I put my debit card (I tried) it gives an error.

About skills, I'm learning python programming as we speak. Hit a major roadblock now, but I will try to figure it out this weekend. My biggest problem is most ads asking for workers ask for experienced people. For example, I could apply for a translator job to Spanish, but I need to quote my job and I don't know how much to ask, and I can't link any previous experience because I don't have any...

Same with the signature campaigns: most look for high ranked members, and the only one I found I could sign up for requires a number of posts per week in gambling boards, and I don't know the first thing about gambling (I don't gamble).

Anyway, thank you all for taking the time.  Smiley
186  Other / Beginners & Help / Which exchanges provide "learn & earn" programs? on: January 06, 2022, 03:04:24 PM
So I read on another thread about this.
Just to be clear: I'm not asking if "learn and earn" programs are worth it. I understand for somebody working in the US those programs are a waste of time, But some of us don't live in the US, and to make it worse some of us are currently unemployed, so any way to start is a blessing, no matter what it costs (at least in terms of time and/or effort).

What I'm worried, first, is about security. Is there a way those programs might be scams, or any other way to hurt me financially?

But, most importantly, can you guys provide some other exchanges that offer such programs? I'm not particularly worried about KYC (though I find it to be a major annoyance), but any exchange that would request that I provide a credit card or any other banking information (like Coinbase, for example) is an absolute no-no, not only because I don't have a credit card, but because the laws where I live are so incredibly convoluted it'd be a miracle for a regular Joe to even sign up there.

As usual, any information you can add is welcomed. Thank you all in advance.  Smiley

188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What stopped you from starting crypto earlier??? on: January 05, 2022, 02:49:22 PM
I learned about cryptocurrency when BTC was the only one, and was almost worthless. At the time, the "knowledge" was that BTC was a "scam". And the whole secrecy around it didn't help.
Ever since, I've seen countless people being scammed with BTC. Basically, a guy gets a computer and puts up a Marketplace ad (or Mercado Libre, in Argentina), and starts meeting people in a starbucks store. Later on, those people invariably come looking for him, and he's nowhere to be found.
So, last year, in about August, I think, a former coworker stated he was looking to get into crypto, and I advised him not to do it. On October 14th, he showed me a screenshot of his BTC wallet. He had started a month earlier with $60, and now had $1156. That definitely got me thinking.
So I started investigating and getting courses at Udemy, and then I joined this forum.

The money thing I'm still trying to deal with...
189  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC: is it really bearish? on: January 05, 2022, 02:17:27 PM
I see...
So basically  what I read is that some people will start screaming "bear" and run for the hills the moment a given asset loses a penny, and most will stop for a second and open a thread here before starting to run. Makes sense.
I'm still a long way from truly understanding technical analysis (I'm trying though). I understand the whole "volatility" concept, and the risk involved. Good to know I'm not completely off...

Thank you all for the prompt replies.   Smiley
190  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Man Lives without Sex? on: January 05, 2022, 01:47:04 PM
Yeah, all the religious bullshit aside, biologically men can live for years without sex, especially after having a scare of the "marriage" kind. Some women tend to think tricking men into marriage is a valid tactic. I disagree.
In any case, I have voluntarily abstained from sex for the last 7 years, and I'm still kicking. Not a lot of fun though...

sex is not the problem .. the relationship/commitment is.
the drama of debate and conversation in a relationship should not be a reason to abstain.. it should be a reason to not commit yourself to long term relationships.

i am not religious, but i do like to use religious theology against religious people.
so..
FREE WILL has been given to us all to make our own choices, where forgiveness is always given to those who have done no harm to others.. so no harm no foul in having consensual multiple friends with benefits, no strings attached.

..
i do enjoy laughing when i see religious people preach 'freewill and forgiveness' whilst also preaching contradictory "die sinner die"

I agree sex is not the problem, but, the way I see it, the problem is people using sex as a weapon.
I can understand if a teenage girl "makes a mistake" and gets pregnant. But a cousin of mine got married to a 30 year old student of medicine, who "didn't know"...  Roll Eyes
I mean, really?

Don't  get me wrong: as far as I'm concerned, they're both at fault here. She's a bitch, and he's an asshole. But bitch or not, if a woman gets pregnant from me, she's gonna get enough money to raise my kid like royalty, and I will be the best father I can be, but she's not getting a ring, EVER.
191  Economy / Economics / BTC: is it really bearish? on: January 05, 2022, 01:28:15 PM
Ok, as of late I've been drawing some lines (as practice, mostly), and now I'm more confused than ever. Everybody keeps talking about BTC being bearish, but the lines I drew show it to be on an upwards trend. I'm attaching a screenshot of what I see. The graph is from Binance.

So the magic question would be: what am I missing? Huh

192  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you were to create your own society, small or big, what would it look like? on: January 04, 2022, 05:06:27 PM

EG trump was not put on trial for telling people to drink bleach or eat lightbulbs..(affects and harms general public)
yet other politicians lost their positions for having extra marital affairs(nothing to do with general public)

Well, one can argue that'd be artificial selection, as anybody capable of believing a single word that comes out of that guy's mouth is a serious candidate for the Darwin Award. But, yeah, I get your point and agree with it.
In December 2004, Gary Webb, reporter who uncovered a conspiracy by the CIA to smuggle cocaine into the US, "committed suicide" by shooting himself twice in the head, and nobody thought much about it. There was even a documentary  film in 2014 ("Kill The Messenger") about the whole thing.
Clinton categorically said he "did not have sex with that woman!" and we all know how that ended, don't we?
Obama said "he wasn't aware" of what happened at Gitmo and Abu Ghraib, and everybody chose to believe him. Not ONE of the torturers on either site is in prison.
Bush almost bankrupted the country by re-entering "Daddy's War" under false pretenses, and nothing happened.
Yet Eliot Spitzer (incidentally after raising a stink about what would become the 2008 crisis) had a party with some hookers, and they hung him by the balls.

Yeah, politics are a dirty game...

194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc ath february 2022 on: January 04, 2022, 03:58:56 PM
One thing is for sure when it comes down to finances and money investment then wall street is what is most important.
And im not educated but i have connections and experinces that average JOE can only dream about.
As my social circle is wall street guys i know the info.
And wall street told me btc will be ath  100,000$ next year february.
You guys not been good but its a christmas i make little gift to you as you will know when its a bull run now.

Well, I traced a few lines last December (mostly as practice) and BTC looks to be kinda bouncing the support right now, and it should hit about 71K+ by the first half of February. I don't know if that's gonna be an ATH, but sounds logical.
And just for the record: I have no Wall Street connections... Grin
195  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ARE WE SEEING COVID-19 BEEN DEFEATED/BEATEN THIS YEAR ?! on: January 03, 2022, 04:02:08 PM
We will beat COVID-19, as we did beat other diseases before. It's just a matter of consistency.
The worst times are gone already, but we're not gonna beat COVID overnight: it's probably gonna take several years. Right now, the efforts are aimed at controlling the pandemic.
Beating the disease is gonna take longer...
196  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When will the vaccination end? on: January 03, 2022, 03:53:37 PM
this is still a polemic in the eyes of the public. Many think that vaccines are a political benefit for certain parties. We don't really know what happened. Now many countries associate an administration with a vaccine certificate. For example, someone has to pay a lot to buy a ticket. flight because he doesn't have a vaccine certificate. is this a political business? could be yes

Only for the ignorant, especially those who politicize everything they know nothing about. Fortunately, life goes on, COVID will be beaten, just like many other diseases were beaten before, and the useful idiots will keep on yakking about something else.
197  Economy / Economics / Re: If the government loses control of the financial system, we have a fall back on: January 03, 2022, 03:46:55 PM
Well, I guess it depends on the user and the government.
For example, in my case, cryptocurrencies allow me to escape my country's financial abuses, and trade internationally.

One example:

The international price for USD/ARS is, as of now, about 103 ARS to 1 USD.
Argentina's central bank (the BCRA) lists a price close to 109 (almost a 6% markup).
But trading foreign currencies is strictly forbidden in Argentina, so USD are just non-existent at that price.
Enter the black market dollar, or dollar "blue", which is, as of now, listed at $206, or 100% over the international price.

That means that I can buy USDT with ARS at the international price, and have an instant 100% profit by selling them at the "blue" price. I couldn't possibly do that without crypto.
198  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which cryptocurrency wallet should I choose? on: January 03, 2022, 03:11:52 PM
First, you need to learn what you're doing (or what you're about to do), so you can choose the wallet that better suits your needs. You will be surprised to see how many times you change your mind, as you start learning different options and techniques at your disposal.
Then, you can start learning about different kinds of wallets, and make an informed decision. It's important to understand there are no "good" or "bad" wallets. Each has a purpose, and the same wallet that's great for you can be completely unsuitable for somebody else.
As a general guideline, choose open source over proprietary software. It doesn't matter if you know what "open source" means, what matters (to you) is that anybody can inspect the code of the wallet, so as to keep the developers honest.
199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best crypto trading course / information source for beginners? on: January 03, 2022, 02:53:01 PM
Initially, I have followed 5 crypto trading and investment courses from Udemy.com, and I highly  recommend them. I especially recommend Chris Haroun's and Mohsen Hassan's courses, as they are very thorough and informative. Udemy.com has sales often, and you can get the courses for as little as 10 bucks. Then, if money is tight, you can get the same courses for free at The Pirate Bay, Tutsnode, and many other sites.
Then, this forum is a gold mine. If you just joined, take the time to get to know which members can be trusted. It's much faster and easier than it sounds.
