181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] LitecoinWidget: bitcoin / altcoin price widget for android on: February 01, 2014, 06:01:49 PM
I was thinking about making a widget just like this that displays the current profits of Just-Dice.com. or better yet the profits of a user. Investors and bettors with bots would use this all the time.

any chance of getting the source code again? I would follow all license requirements and give.credit where its due.

or you could just consider this a feature request and code it yourself.

It's a cool idea. I'd definitely consider adding it as a feature. I don't see an easy way to scrape the info though? Would the user have to input their j-d password just to see their personal profit?

If you burn from a blockchain.info wallet, how do you then gain access to your XCP?

As an investor on the site, and although i do understand the points in favor of the change, I do prefer the current system as Doog has interests more in line with investors and will investigate if some players win "too much" ...

+1. I like the fact that doog is along for the ride.

Just nudged bitcoin.de support again. They haven't been responding.

I still haven't heard back from bitcoin.de support, even though I nudged them again recently. Hopefully they are just not responding because it's the weekend.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] LitecoinWidget: bitcoin / altcoin price widget for android on: January 26, 2014, 07:34:30 AM
There have been some major issues with cryptsy widgets, mostly because the php code on my server that was handling cache requests was really inefficient and the server was getting bogged down with just a few requests per second.

I've completely rewritten the way caching is done, now it should be much faster. However, this change will require all existing cryptsy widgets to be reconfigured. You just have to go into your widget configuration and choose the coin again. Sorry, I tried to avoid this, but I suck and this is the best I could come up with especially because I wanted to fix the issue ASAP.

version 43:
  - YOU WILL NEED TO RECONFIGURE YOUR CRYPTSY WIDGETS -- sorry!
  - revamped the way cryptsy data is cached on the server and collected by the widget. should fix recent cryptsy stability issues.

Hello qxzn,
Can you please add MemoryCoin (MMC).
It's traded on Bter and value can be fetched on coinmarketcap or cryptmarketcap

Thanks!

I am planning to add Bter soon. Hopefully I can do it in a way that automatically includes all coins on their platform.

I just messaged bitcoin.de to ask about an API. Let's see what they say.
Thanks!

I'm curious about the answer.

They said I needed to create an account and that I would then be able to access the API. They also said I could only poll the API once every two minutes, which is fine with me -- I'll cache the data on my server like I do with other unreliable exchanges (*ahem* cryptsy *ahem*).

But they haven't responded in a good while now..
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] LitecoinWidget: bitcoin / altcoin price widget for android on: January 22, 2014, 07:51:00 AM
I really love this but it crashes A LOT especially when trying to change or setup coins on a cryptsy widget.

Yes. Sorry about that. I had an issue where the cached json file on my server was getting corrupted every time the cryptsy API call failed, which is lots. I fixed it about 12 hours ago. It will be good to know if you continue to experience a lot of crashing.

Has anyone received USD from them since mid November? I haven't Sad

That's pretty much the same time I received my last USD withdrawal (at 5% fee). Haven't tried since..

194  Economy / Securities / Re: FPGA Mining Contract on: January 17, 2014, 06:34:37 AM
We're still mining, but it's definitely getting close to the "not-worth-it" point. One issue is that each payment needs to be over 0.00005430 BTC for the client to send it, and with the shares spread out over so many people, the payment per account is tiny until it has been mining for months. I made a payment today almost 3 months since the last one and there will still some accounts that were under that limit. I had to manually remove those and will need to carry over the unpaid earnings for the next payment... an extra pain in the neck for me.

So, my plan at the moment is to just continue letting the FPGAs do their thing, and checking on the earnings occasionally. When it's enough for the majority of shareholders to receive a payment, I'll make one. I'll keep an eye on the difficulty/price ratio and not mine when the cost of power outweighs the earnings. At that point, we should discuss selling the boards off. Thoughts on that plan?

Today's payment txid: 986d9a5048e9b29ed4af96c3868f981955e645b9529c3ff93e511751480a91b0

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a reasonable plan. It might be nice to update this thread about once a month or so if it's not too much trouble, just to keep in contact.

ping. how's it going fizz?
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] LitecoinWidget: bitcoin / altcoin price widget for android on: January 17, 2014, 06:30:17 AM
The widget is awesome and I love it so far.
Would you please consider to add the Bitcoin.de exchange?

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

Greetings
Zazomazzo

I have looked at adding bitcoin.de a couple times. Alas, I don't think they have a public API?
196  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 17, 2014, 06:24:28 AM
$1k USD withdrawal initiated on 12-1-13 (to a US checking account). Has not arrived.

did you opt for the 5% expedited processing?

I am the author of Litecoin Widget: bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158777.new;topicseen#new

I could probably adapt the code pretty quickly to get what you're looking for. Where's the best API to get the information? blockchain.info?
198  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange Now Open with USD, EUR, BTC, LTC, XRP, NMC on: January 17, 2014, 03:03:08 AM
Related to this, i understand kraken values its trading engine resources highly. I really think you should krank down the decimals allowed for prices. 5 decimals at 600 eur per btc is insignificantly low compared to transaction cost and spread, especially with these kinds of volumes.  I sometimes see bots trying to outbid eachother for 0.00001 price differences, which does almost nothing for the spread nor trading volume but takes up just as much resources nonetheless. Incidentally it also makes it much easier to see what average price at size is going to be when looking at the orderbook.

I'd say 2 decimals is more then enough, which is relatively still higher then the ticksize in fiat forex, where volume is much higher, volatility lower and transaction cost much smaller. Also bitstamp does it succesfully being one of the biggest players.

Anyone wants to weigh in on this?

Yes, you are correct, the additional granularity really doesn't help the marketplace. It's not disastrous, but it creates an incentive for certain types of bot activity that doesn't really benefit the liquidity of the exchange. I say this as a bot operator who profits a little bit from this sort of activity. At today's prices, I would go further and say that 1 decimal is plenty (making the minimum spread about 1 basis point).
199  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 16, 2014, 07:21:09 AM
Anybody make a SWIFT withdrawal to the USA paying the extra 5% recently? What kind of delay?

I made a couple back in Octoberish that went through pretty quick, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the 5% option even has become somewhat saturated.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] LitecoinWidget: bitcoin / altcoin price widget for android on: January 14, 2014, 04:04:39 AM
It has come to my attention that somebody rebranded Litecoin Widget as "crypto widget" on the play store without my permission. It is a near-identical clone of an old version. I guess I should have expected this due to the widget's open source nature. I'm not sure how I feel about this, so, for the time being, I have taken down the source code.
