381  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Professional TOR network with Bitcoin fees? on: May 10, 2013, 06:04:56 PM
This of course means there might be need for adjustment of encryption keys in Tor software and close integration of Tor/Vidalia and Bitcoin-Qt. Probably Bitcoin-Qt might be unchanged but Vidalia and Tor will communicate to Bitcoin-Qt like Armory does.

Or maybe one could introduce Tor credits which can be tightly integrated into Tor software, while at the same time having a freely floating rate of exchange with bitcoin.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I understand open source software. Do you? on: May 10, 2013, 06:01:25 PM
I kind of agree (beacuse of all the useless copies), on the other hand, there are new ideas that can't be just added to existing blockchain so creating new one is the only option.
FTC, CNC and alike are ofcourse not one of them.

This. The bitcoin devs aren't going to accept ye-random crazy idea into the source code. Want to try a pure-proof-of-stake coin, or an inflationary coin, and see how it fares in the market? Only one way to do it..
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] simple litecoin price widget for android on: May 10, 2013, 05:57:20 PM
nope LTC with btc-e still doesn't refresh when I tap it , I tried uninstalling it and all that .

So this is indeed a bug, and it will eventually be fixed. For now you can work around it by adding your widget and *explicitly setting the coin to LTC*, as opposed to accepting the default (which is also LTC). The bug happens when you use the default.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] simple litecoin price widget for android on: May 10, 2013, 05:55:54 PM
Seems nice but it's almost impossible to read in a tablet with 1200x800 screen. A 2x2 or 3x3 widget would be fine.

Added as a github issue. I don't want to make any promises though..

Would love to get XRP pricing from BitStamp.

Me too. Any idea where I might find an API call returning said price?

* 100% anonymous cannot be trace.
(The wallet will come with built in proxy servers from all over the world to hide the location of the sender and the receiver)

If you want a truly anonymous coin, how about implementing zerocoin?

Who knows, maybe the OP is doing just that.  Not much info about the new coin in the thread.

I don't think so, I think he was referring to the proxy server idea he put in parens.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Latest News: New super anonymous coin is coming soon . . . on: May 09, 2013, 02:25:18 AM
How come no one is implementing zerocoin idea to their alt coins?

I dunno, probably because it's hard. But a cleanly launched alt with zerocoin? I predict big money.

version 20:
 - add bitstamp and campbx for BTC prices
 - add freicoin (Vircurex)

important: if you are having problems since update 18ish, try deleting your widget then adding it back to the desktop. The upgrade path wasn't clean as I moved to a different underlying preferences structure. Sorry about the inconvenience!
392  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: May 08, 2013, 10:01:26 PM
Is there an API for trading on bitfinex?
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What values will make an alt coin a valuable alternative? on: May 08, 2013, 04:54:02 AM
How about a new hashing algorithm, that is neither sha-256 nor scrypt?
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] simple litecoin price widget for android on: May 06, 2013, 04:52:01 AM
version 19: fix minor regression introduced in version 18
(wasn't displaying Btc-E LTC/BTC rate)
395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders Must Prepare For Mass Adoption on: May 05, 2013, 09:44:09 PM
I'm still trying to squeeze some time out so that I can do a sub on this.  Smiley

Would love to see a sub!
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: inflation coins on: May 05, 2013, 09:12:48 PM
I think it would be awesome if someone created a script that fork bitcoin/litecoin, make random changes to code, random coin name, uploads to github, website, pool, etc. At least 3 coins a week. That way perhaps we could polute the crypto coin space to the degree that it becomes impossible to keep up with new coins. The goal is to inflate the number of coins in absurdum.

I like this idea.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] simple litecoin price widget for android on: May 05, 2013, 07:50:03 PM
version 18:
- cleaner exchange/coin selection. you may have to delete and re-add all your widgets as the underlying configuration type has changed.
- add FTC

I have gotten requests for more obscure coins. I have decided to include coins once they reach 10000+ BTC of market cap as reported by dustcoin.com. If I don't notice a coin reach this value, please let me know.
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] simple litecoin price widget for android on: May 03, 2013, 06:33:09 AM
Hey QXZN!

Would you mind adding FTC (Feathercoin) to your widget? It's traded on Vircurex and BTC-e.

Thanks!

it's coming ...

I don't really get the solution. Can somebody explain it to me? How does vanitygen fit in?
