The spam was blocked, there used to be 750 KB limit.

The irony is extreme. Maybe, just maybe, the thousands of people who moved from /r/bitcoin to /r/btc did so for other reasons than to "manipulate votes from our basements"? You people are beyond belief. Ironic shill is ironic while ironic so she can shill while she shills.

Just another way to try and discredit bitcoin and create fud.
Any evidence? The way is see it Ethereum could be doing well but I fail to see how exactly it could displace Bitcoin for a long term period. We all know Ether is pump but why should we worry about Bitcoin itself? It has huge momentum and Bitcoin is big.

We're gonna see this year if there's someone out there trying to stop Bitcoin in it's tracks. But the Classic thing is pretty lame attempt to be honest.

All blocks are stored ....
Really interesting info, thanks a lot

Show me a coin with a pump 10x plus over a few days that wasn't followed a monstrous dump. Just one.
This depends on the kind of bagholders there is. The Ethereum media campagin looks really trustworthy, we're likely to see a long term investors.

thanks
If you believe that storing coins or cash on exchanges is OK and safe, then do it
I wish all involved long and prosperous pump!

I hope it lasts well into the BTC halvening. Satisfied bagholders is what we all need.
Hope it won't bust too abruptly. The exit run to cash via Bitcoin could take Bitcoin down too anyway.
EDIT: About Vitalik I hope he would not be blamed after the dump and would stay around. Charismatic figures a.k.a leaders is one of the thing Bitcoin lacks and the masses need . Vitalik can supply this role just fine.

We need to consider the inherent risks in the centralization. It's much better if miners represent the central authority than someone else. For example the economic majority, (wallet operators, exchanges) need to have a way to represent their vote on the issue.
And how did you come to this conclusion?
Any reason for this?
Your funds are actually in the wallet confirmed on the explorer. Check the target address again.

I'm calling $73 per Ether top
After eating ethereum alive, bitcoin could reach well above a grand
The question is will Ethereum pop or would the bagholders be unaware and we're for a longterm eth decline
Lel who cares, the smart money will cash out to Bitcoin eventually

Bitcoin's miners are incentivized to produce blocks without fully validating all the transactions they contain.
Can someone elaborate on this problem?
Yes, SPV mining allows to mine with just the previous block header. Transactions on the previous block aren't really checked. Someone could create invalid block and the next miner would shoot self to the foot. But this attack is useless, because the attacker also mines invalid block, so both attacker and target have same loss.

none of my prof have ever heard of bitcoin or the term crypto currency (they're all super old school guys...).
they probably know about it they just wanna know if you good at presenting stuff

I won't be wasting even a second of my time thinking about consensus systems without proof of work or without reward.
It's the job of various snake oil sellers, they can implement their paxos or raft and create tokens fiat-style from thin air.
We should discuss how to operate one strong proof of work bitcoin and another strong yet temporary to the moon shitcoin.
The shitcoin 's value after initial pump needs to decrease. This stimulates spending and economic activity.
But to solve the double spend problem, the shitcoin needs to be reorganization-resistant. This is difficult to archieve with tiny hashrate. People can hop around from shitcoin to shitcoin and damage the difficulty. This is a problem I really care about.

The actual problem is that there are people out there who think they know better what the cap is supposed to be than Satoshi's 1MB.
Another advantage of the 1MB cap is that once these idiots realize they can't really change it, they will fork off from Bitcoin to their favourite shitcoin, taking their shitty poet shills and useless economic activity with them.
