181  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BTCpop.co on: January 13, 2018, 10:00:04 PM
It looks like XLM is going to be around for the long term. Any interest in adding it and linking it to the inflation pool?

Here is the particular thread that @Shaw1 was referring to: https://btcpop.co/forum/viewthread.php?id=1618
182  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Keepkey and Electrum - importing wallet on: January 13, 2018, 08:12:37 PM
That method is for exporting "MultiBit HD" generated wallets ONLY... NOT a wallet from your hardware wallet device. If your wallet was created by the Hardware Wallet... and is already on your hardware wallet... you want to use: "File -> New\Restore -> Standard Wallet -> Use a hardware device"... then connect the hardware wallet (if it isn't already)

Restoring the seed into Electrum effectively removes ALL the safeguards of the hardware wallet and exposes your seed/keys to your computer!! Shocked

However, if you create it as a hardware wallet within Electrum, it will only expose the Master Public Key... which will generate what is effectively a "watching only" wallet... You'll be able to see all your addresses/coins/transactions etc... but to spend, you will still need to use the hardware wallet and your private keys are never exposed to the computer.  Cool

Sorry, I am also not very technically minded. "create it as a hardware wallet within Electrum", how do I do that? Thanks!
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: January 13, 2018, 07:03:05 PM
lol are you trolling? The wallets are open-source. Why don't you go look on Github and check it for yourself?

You are (1) indirectly stating that XSPEC is a scam. Let's get that out of the way - a scam ICO does not go as well as XSPEC has, and for as long. A scam ICO is something like Fujinto or Confido.

It's difficult to FUD something that is legit like XSPEC.

Sorry, but I am not trolling. I am trying to get help. I'll go to Github, but I'm pretty sure I won't understand a thing there as usual (I'm somewhat clueless when it comes to programming and developing)

Any helpful comments please?

I'm not on Mac, so I can't help there. But rest assured, XSPEC is no scam. As it's PoS you definitely also don't get any overheating from running the wallet, like you would get from wallets that also have PoW mining. The problems you mention have nothing to do with SpectreCoin. Something else seems to be the trouble.

Thanks for your reply! I'm glad to hear that and really hope it's good. XSPEC seems to have really great potential. Maybe it's just a coincidence that I ended up with this strange "moszcpu quit unexpectedly" and was never able to open the Spectre.app (Spectre quit unexpectedly error).

I have no reason to FUD, since I myself am a humble XSPEC holder, although I am still unable to start staking because of these errors I'm getting. It's the only wallet I have that won't open for me, so I figured I should do more research on the coin and maybe I can get some support on this thread.

Although I have already sent the error log to Apple a few times, I am thinking of sending it to the Spectre team. Would that be safe? Should I remove some info, like the Anonymous UUID or anything else?

Here is some proof that I have been a small-time Spectre holder on Livecoin since December (I know they are microscopic values, but I am still in the testing phase and new to staking):

and that the same balance is still on the exchange because I haven't been able to open the wallet so I can deposit and stake:

Thanks

You Apple users are literally computer illiterate.
Perhaps you should do something technically easier like trading stocks which don't require you to download wallets.
What baffles me is that you're a full member yet ask such basic questions about system protection.

I'm confused are you saying that Bitcoin and crypto in general, are meant to be used only by professional programmers and developers and that all the billions of market cap is by them only, or that it's meant for non-Apple users? Or are you referring to XSPEC coin only? Or are you a Nazi?

If any of the above, I'll take your word for it, sell all my crypto and go cry in a corner... Not  Tongue
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum wallet users upgrade it immediately or you may lose your bitcoins on: January 13, 2018, 05:27:23 PM
Newb question: How do I upgrade without opening electrum to export my private keys (on Mac)? Is there a way to upgrade without opening old Electrum while not losing my keys? Thanks

Hello! Is this really a scam and thread is censored like it says here? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2154008.0
Thanks.

It's a privacy coin. All the moron had to say was that he "thought the distribution was narrow" with no facts to support it, just claiming that 6 people owned all of XSPEC.

The OP in question DELETED COMMENTS that refuted his arguments, while (funny) claiming that XSPEC mods deleted his comments. So basically he is a liar who wanted to FUD XSPEC for some reason (maybe to lower the price so he could buy in - it has gone up a lot since back then), and didn't want to be called out.

Also, that thread is like 4 months old. A lot has changed in that time - do you still think it's a scam, given where we are today? My research says not.

If you'd like, you could go and communicate with the devs. They are pretty active, I believe.

Well one thing that worries me is that I downloaded The Spectre Wallet v1.3.3 from https://spectreproject.io/wallets/

On the same day, I downloaded 2 other crypto wallets. After that, my MacBook started heating up and the fan making noise even when no apps/wallets are open. When I tried to restart, I Safari wouldn't quit or force-quit and I ended up force-powering the MacBook off. Now every time I restart, I get an error that says "moszcpu quit unexpectedly".

At first, I send a report to Apple and didn't think much about it. Then I tried to start Spectre, and right after flash window, it says "Spectre quit unexpectedly".

I tried restarting again and that's when I realized again I couldn't quit Safari, but I could only force quit it from Activity Monitor.

After googling moszcpu, I get some weird results about "OSX.CpuMeaner: New Cryptocurrency Mining Trojan Targets macOS". I don't remember ever handling anything with the name Cryptomeaner...

It seems something new though because I am unable to find any support on the internet about this moszcpu error... Any ideas how to figure this out?

I went through my downloads folder and deleted a lot of stuff that I don't remember downloading. After that, I am able to quit Safari and restart without having to force quit anything, But still get the moszcpu and unable to start Spectre, even after deleting and re-downloading. (My main suspicion that the malware may be related to spectre)

At the same time, I am realizing that about 90% of ICO's turn out to be scams... so I am still trying to narrow down how I ended up with this... Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions? Any help, please? Thanks.
188  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: SinoHash second facility opens for preorder on: January 13, 2018, 03:30:01 PM
Guys come on!

When are you going to learn?

Proof of Mining, or Proof of Own Pool, or Proof of Manufacturing Own Miners

OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN !!!

Here is an example how one can be legit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2380938.msg25944737#msg25944737

I hope I am wrong and there is proof of mining/pooling/manufacturing like viaBTC and HashNest. Otherwise, my condolences...

I think you misunderstood something. This is hosting provider (not cloudmining or pool operator). I bet he is real, and has a real facilities (there is plenty of pics, also he is confirmed former member of haobtc ... but somehow unable to handle this operation well. IMO he decide to quit because is't much easier to just look after his own miners than constantly solving issues and complains of the customers.
Quite sad, I was pretty satisfied at the beginning, prepared to put in more miners but then lot of issues appeared resulting in my withdrawal.

Apologies. I indeed misunderstood. I thought they were hosting cloud mining like HashNest. It turns out customers would have to purchase miners offsite and send them to them for hosting. So is this a scam? Are they based in China? Did they go out of business because of the Chinese regulation?
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [IMPORTANT UPDATE]: C | 15 BITCOINS TO SHARE [Bounty Thread] on: January 13, 2018, 03:24:11 PM
what's going on ,have somebody receive bounty from dev?

Yeah, don't worry everybody recieved a big O, and a huge shameful experience for users and especially the OP.
Afaik, the OP didn't get a big earning...

Yup this was like the biggest waste of time for the biggest failed attempt to scam. It was my first and probably last ICO bounty participation since 99% of ICOs are actually scams, as I came to realize.

@Ehrhc, Thanks for wasting my exam studying time during my final exams d**kface. I could have easily gotten A's instead of B's and a C. I hope you are happy with your stolen $50 or whatever worth of crypto. I hope you rot in whatever hellhole you are in, and learn some English in the meantime, so you can understand my insults to you!

I am starting to wonder what are D4RK5T4R motives behind discouraging people on going after scammers?

Is he a friend of the scammer? Has he been paid to do this job? Is he his bitch?

If you have nothing constructive to say, get a life and get lost!

Maybe if you bothered to read this thread, you would see that I was one of the first and most vocal members calling this site out as a scam.

So in your own parlance:

If you have nothing constructive to say, get a life and get lost!

Have a nice day.

Constantly telling people "I told you so" and discouraging them from going after scammers is not constructive. If you want to be constructive, you should be providing BTC addresses, authority links, screenshots, etc... It would be understandable if you are trying to remind people what where the indicators of this being a scam, but instead you are telling them to give up and trying to convince them that scammers always get away with it!

Only because you didn't lose anything, doesn't give you the right to do what you are doing, so After you Sir

191  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BIT-X.com | Exchange BTC, LTC, USD, EUR, GBP & Rub | Bitcoin Debit Card! on: January 13, 2018, 02:21:22 PM
That's weird. I never got an email for the brand change. Also when I google bit-x.com the first results that come up are luno.com
So it didn't change to luno.com?

I used to use them for their BTC debit card. now that wirex stopped their cards, I started looking for them to see if they are still in business...

Is there a thread or an announcement about this? Are my credentials and cards supposed to work? Thanks

193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: January 13, 2018, 01:44:26 PM
=====================================================

In many ways banking business also operates like a Ponzi, here is why:

1. Banks get fiat deposits from customers.
2. Banks use the deposit and with it automatically can leverage and create money by 10 times the value of the deposits by keeping 4 times as reserve depending banking FED rules and BIS (+/-).
3. With the 6 times exponential money created from a depositor they can lend money put at interest much higher than the FED discount rate in mortgages, commercial loans etc.
4. Bank operation expenses are recovered from Customer deposit fees, credit card fees and services so they do not ever lose any money.
5. Banks get fees and premium gains from making retail auto loans and then selling them out wholesale to Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae or commercial. The big banks invest the money in commercial developments, corporate loans, mutual funds and also trade stock market and commodities etc.

Banks are a money making machine association and as they say if all investors came in at the same time to withdraw deposits, banks would not be able to  return money as they would be bankrupt,

I still do not see how can bitconnect be considered a Ponzi as they are sharing arbitrage profits share of 80% of daily arbitrage profits and keeping 20% from trading BTC as stated in FAQ. Daily % fluctuates and it is not guaranteed if there are any profits. The difference with the banks they do not share anything at the most give you half a percent on savings deposit. Who is really the Ponzi?

Because there is not trading bot, there never was. You really believe that they have this amazing trading bot thats making them millions?

If they did why on earth would they create any lending program? they would just keep the massive gains for themselves....there is not trading bot!!

Dude? What the hell do bank pyramids have to do with anything? Bank ponzi's are one of the main reasons Bitcoin and crypto exist in the first place. Making Bitconnect a ponzi like banks defeats one of the main purposes of crypto!

You can see how bitconnect is considered a ponzi in their website where they show you the "pyramid" with the referral amounts you get. Unfortunately all ponzi's work while more people and money are invested in them. Once they stop getting new people and investments the whole pyramid will collapse, and the same goes for the banking system.

195  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Bittrex account (Clean / unverified) on: January 13, 2018, 10:02:13 AM
How fucking stupid do you think people are? 1 Bitcoin? Are you drunk? Seriously? It's a free account. You are a joke. This is ridiculous. I'll sell infinite Bittrex accounts for half that amount and you can have whatever name you want on them. Oh wait, or people can just create an account or just create an account somewhere else for free. Idiot.

Dear new users:

We have received an enormous number of new account registrations over the past few weeks.  We are excited to have so many new users who want to join the Bittrex community.  Unfortunately, we have to make a few upgrades to our support and backend systems to handle the increased traffic and load.  As such, we have halted new user registrations for the time being.  If you already have an account on Bittrex, you will not be affected by this change.  Please continue to the log in as you normally do.

To our new users, we will keep you posted on when we open up registration.  We apologize for the inconvenience!

The Bittrex Team

Source: https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003463331

Still, most sane people would just wait for Bittrex to re-enable used account registration and trade on other exchanges in the meantime, rather than risk their BTC to buy a pre-owned account. Once escrow completed, any seller could easily claim that their account has been hacked, and regain access to their sold accounts.

I am willing to take over an account for free if anyone is interested in getting rid of their account. PM me, but don't ask me for money on something that was free a month ago and will be free again very soon. Thanks.
196  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: TomosMining - HIGHEST PAID MINING (BTC->FaucetHub) 5% REF! on: January 12, 2018, 07:51:04 PM
99 miners mining at the moment...

if i will see in server records that 100+ miners will mine at least for 2 hours i will increase next day the rewards (from my pocket) Smiley
FaucetHub is back  Smiley
197  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: TomosMining - HIGHEST PAID MINING (BTC->FaucetHub) 5% REF! on: January 12, 2018, 12:58:05 PM
Maybe Tomos broke FaucetHub by suddenly bringing them so may users  Tongue
198  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: TomosMining - HIGHEST PAID MINING (BTC->FaucetHub) 5% REF! on: January 12, 2018, 12:56:03 PM

Thanks again Tomos for answering and helping me with all my questions (even the stupid ones)  Tongue

Everything seems to work even usning 4 cores with -t 4

Happy Mining!

New question: How does the referral work or where can I find more info on that? Thanks

when someone uses your referral link and start mining, becoming your referral, you can check statistics for referrals in your balance check page..  not details, only summary.. but still enough info to track how much your referrals earnt for you Smiley

happy mining! Smiley

Stupid question  Grin: The referral link works only for your browser mining?

Less stupid question  Tongue: Is there any way I can setup "workers" for different PCs to be able to monitor each performance? Thanks

referrals are only for command line mining..
i am not separating workers, but you can add more linked BTC addresses to faucethub and this way you can monitor your workers Smiley
i will add some performance graph soon
Command line mining? I thought for browser mining... how does the pool know whether someone starts CMD mining using my referral or not? Thanks

it's my secret, but it works Smiley

Sweet! I got my first referral! 6 satoshis from referral so far  Grin

That was the good news. The bad news is that FaucetHub doesn't seem to load  Undecided
Is FaucetHub loading for anyone?
199  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: TomosMining - HIGHEST PAID MINING (BTC->FaucetHub) 5% REF! on: January 12, 2018, 12:06:20 PM
What algo and coins are we mining with Claymore? Are you switching between the most profitable ones?
200  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: TomosMining - HIGHEST PAID MINING (BTC->FaucetHub) 5% REF! on: January 12, 2018, 12:04:32 PM
With the crazy BTC fees, is there any way I could get paid in BCH (or other coin) instead of BTC? Thanks

when you receive the BTC to faucethub, put it to exchange for whatever crypto you want Smiley

good idea, although I would have preferred receiving BCH directly to save on the exchange fees...

Nice new website update!
