181  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What's up with transaction unconfirmed for so long ? on: January 20, 2016, 10:11:52 PM
did you read my post, it says blockchain.info and I said I sent btc in the past. I was just wondering if service times changed since I last sent it in fall 2015, when it went through fast.
182  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What's up with transaction unconfirmed for so long ? on: January 20, 2016, 09:47:42 PM
I did not choose the fee or know how to. I only sent BTC a few times. Its been about 8 hours now and yes it turns out the fee is like .0001 btc..

Is there a way to cancel it or re do it with another few cents for the fee ?
183  Economy / Web Wallets / What's up with transaction unconfirmed for so long ? on: January 20, 2016, 08:00:00 PM
just wondering if anyone knows what the transaction times are these days. I sent a small amount if bitcoin a few months ago and it went through pretty fast. Now I sent one today and just shows unconfirmed in  blockchain.info and 0% .  Is this just me and today or is this normal now ?

Thanks but I figured it out.. It was myusername.workername and not my BTC address.

Is it ok to reuse the worker name in other miners or should I have a sep worker for each miner ? I'm not concerned about individual stats.

Can someone verify if this is correct for S3.. It came up dead .

 - stratum.kano.is:3333
 - 1FtsbFmVeqXBR3VFN9oLeGydTxY2tPAWgK.myusername

do I need to enter tcp+ or anything else before the address ?

The pool was down for a moment.  I'm sure kano will give an explanation shortly.  Try it again.

187  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Game Idea (Gambling, P2P) on: January 18, 2016, 02:07:34 AM
I've got a good idea of a game from a game I'm playing since I was a kid. It is player-to-player game and is pretty entertaining. This game is pretty much nerve-wrecking. And you need guts to win.

I'm a web developer and needs a sponsor to develop this game or just get the game idea. I'd like to play this myself.

Why not copyright your concept first for a cheap price. Once this is done, no one can steal your idea.
You can then make a proto type or an algorithm for how the game will be done.
Then code it.
Then release it.

Simple, cannot see why a sponsor would really be necessary.

You can't copyright a concept. Copyright is for things like a book or music or the content on your website.  You can get a patent but good luck with that. Timely, expensive, absolutely worthless online since nobody from some 3rd world country is going to honor your patent.
188  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I finished a BTC poker app&back-end but don't see a revenue-model on: January 18, 2016, 01:51:02 AM
Dude you charge rake, there is no other way to play poker. No player will stand for a deposit or withdrawal fee. You are just turning people away from initial play right there.  Big sites only get away with that because of the huge overhead in VISA / MC and verification staff for verifying fraud payments.

Rake is no biggie. No winning player cares about it especially on your scale and a $500k player isn't going to hit your site. Think of rake as ebay, you sell something and you pay a few bucks, you don't mind paying because you have a lot more coming in from the winning bidder, when i win a hand and fleece a table of players I don't mind paying $1 for rake.

Rake is also how you scale without investing. You can keep a few players going on pennies of bandwidth and when 1000's are playing it costs you more but rake x 1000 is as nice as well.

you charge something ridiculous like 0.05% .. if the site works you increase to 1% , when you have market share you go the full 5% .

I want to try kano in my new pair of S3's.   Do I just put in the address in the web interface or do I have to insert some stratum+tcp with the address ?
190  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: January 16, 2016, 06:33:05 AM
I tried going down as well to 212 and no luck. I guess this S3 is just fixed at 218 or perhaps needs the clock changed with a jumper or solder hack

Can anyone confirm if this looks normal

Asic 16  /  218.75  / 2400 rpm / 42 c
Asic 16  /  218.75  / 2460 rpm / 45 c

Hello there,

does someone has an Idea why my S3 don't "accept" the changes at the asic freq file?
It does save the file correctly but after reboot it still comes up with the "standard" freq of 225^^allthough 225 is comment out and 218,75 is "active".
It doesn't matter which freq I activate, it always comes up with 225M.

TQ

I'm having the same problem as you but can't from 218 to 225.. I edited the file and commented out the 218 to 225 but after several reboot it still comes up as 218.  Tried on my other S3 and it went to 225 on first reboot.  Does anyone know what the issues is and why the second miner hooked to the same power supply won't do 225.

I was looking at "Estimated Position in Payout Queue"

I noticed that my efforts are way down today compared to yesterday. Is that normal.  When I woke up today it said payout is in 2 days and 2 hours.. 8 hours later payout is in 2 days 1 hour and 41 mins.
194  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: January 15, 2016, 06:50:17 PM
Where doesn't it show up  It is not going to show up in your router if you that is what you're expecting.

You have to go to firefox and enter the 192 number. If the s3 given to you was 192.168.1.200 then you have to change your router to 192.168.1.1 first and reboot.
195  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Any advice on POOL for NEWB @900ghs on: January 15, 2016, 04:11:28 PM
I'm not sure what P2Pool is yet. Still trying to figure it out. I have a general idea of the different types of pools but still don't know which is the best.  I have 2 more of these just waiting for a power supply. So actually I will have 1.8ths .

Right now I just plugged in eligius because it seemed to be popular amongst miners.  It says I'm doing 0.00384923 in the last 3 hrs average which looks good to me.
196  Bitcoin / Pools / Any advice on POOL for NEWB @900ghs on: January 14, 2016, 07:43:44 PM
Hey folks. Proud new user of a pair of S3 miners.

I can't make heads or tails at what pool is best for my processing power.

Can anyone recommend a pool that has the least issues and is reputable

Thanks
Al
