If you really invest your bitcoin then before investing it on any investment project which might be profitable please research about the project and also do analysis. By hearing about a project and investing on there you might be a loser and also a lot of fraud person who may make you loser by inviting on low rated project/projects. There are a lot of coin/token which are also scam and few coins/token will not be able to make profit. To make it a profitable you should invest on a good crypto specially from top 20 crypto on coinmarketcap. There's no safe at all if we talk about investment also with crypto since even if you invest in bitcoin only still you will face some major challenge which can test your patience since the market is so unstable, But for choosing the top 10 above is somehow can give us an assurance since even if we are in bearish market we can still relax and wait for another bounce back. You are right that market is not stable and also nothing is not 100% secure. But investing on bitcoin and any other top crypto is too much safe because for long term investor it will give us profit.
