181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife is pregnant, how to incorporate bitcoin into the process? on: August 14, 2014, 02:59:02 PM
I've actually heard of midwives and/or doula's that will accept bitcoin, and if they don't currently, you could offer to help them to do so (Bitpay is free forever), you could potentially convince them to work at a discount because you're helping them get into the future of money!

182  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 14, 2014, 02:39:28 AM
Do we know how many AntMiners per batch roughly?  Batch 7 Sold out faster than any batch I've seen yet.

Already taking orders for Batch 8 and Upgrade kits now...crazy.  Probably worth waiting till closer in...maybe...BTC prices dropping like they are may make it a bargain, but they could always jump back up.

If simply showing an address is begging...than this is a den of beggars.  I didn't ask or say to send me or my future son bitcoin...I explained my plans to another soon to be father because what better way to store for your childs future than cold storage.

Mainly I posted the image of the QR because I thought it was cool that you can go here:
http://bitcoinqrcode.org/

and make one...

then go here:

www.cafepress.com

and have it printed on almost anything.

Perhaps I should have said that on the last post.

Anyway...how's that 50 posts for Primedice coming Mobius?
184  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 12, 2014, 01:17:41 PM
I presume you stay logged in because it is constantly updating your hashrate, etc...(it thinks you're there watching it), versus going to another page which it then shuts off for security.

Congrats!  I find myself in a similar position as my girlfriend is due next month!  It's getting really real now.

I've personally devoted my unfunded Casascius gold bar with a SilverWallets hologram (they were kind enough to give me a couple hologram stickers at the Chicago convention) to my son to be (yep, it's a boy!).

In fact...

That's the Wallet Address right there!  Was thinking of making a t-shirt that says "Bitcoin Boss" or something.

I have two S3's earmarked as his which I will setup to mine to the wallet for as long as possible which with any luck
will pay for his college, his house, his future, etc...to the moon!

If we can convince Roadstress to do another, I may be interested.

Make sure to check out 37coins.com if you haven't already, they have a pretty awesome system of getting bitcoin in the hands of people who don't have internet but do have a cell phone with SMS capability (yep, even old brick phones can now be used to send/receive bitcoin).

I feel this would be pertinent in India.
188  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Chicago Speaker(s) Needed on: July 16, 2014, 03:05:36 PM
Reviving the dead here...just thought everyone on this thread that might see it should definitely be made aware of the TNABC Conference at McCormick place.  It's this weekend Saturday and Sunday, with a kickoff party hosted by BitPay at the House of Blues featuring the documentary The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin.  Hope to see everyone who can join us...and if you're hanging out on this forum, it'd be silly not to go.

191  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: North American Bitcoin Conference - Chicago - July 19 + 20, 2014 on: July 13, 2014, 11:26:24 PM
Ticket covers everything - including the Rise and Rise of Bitcoin on Friday night, the band afterwards at the House of Blues, and both days of conference!

Moe

Nice.  What about if someone wants to come only to the Rise and Rise of Bitcoin on Friday night, would they still need to register for the conference?
192  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: North American Bitcoin Conference - Chicago - July 19 + 20, 2014 on: July 13, 2014, 12:57:51 PM
Does the new $100.00 ticket price get you in for both days, or just one?  I keep looking but it doesn't really say.
193  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS HASHFAST on: July 13, 2014, 03:26:50 AM
2.5BTC for all 5 would be where I'd need it before seizing the opportunity, and I certainly don't want to insult you with a lowball offer, but I am working on picking up 2Ths for ~1800-2000...with psu's, tomorrow, so it's pretty hard to justify spending a lot more on this for less.
194  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: North American Bitcoin Conference - Chicago - July 19 + 20, 2014 on: July 11, 2014, 08:51:36 PM
Liked, followed, retweeted, and shared.  Hoping that gives me 4X the chance!  Also I am actually close enough to attend if I win, and fully intend on being at the House of Blues screening of "The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin" on Friday night either way!  Viva la Bitcoin!

That's a good point
Hey guys... but if the NeptuneS are made of 5 boxes, how would this fit with the mini-neptunes??   5/2... so, they'll split one chip with hello-kitty paper-scissors or new designs will reach the foundry soon...!?

About the infamous "hash while we trap you"... could someone please confirm that, to NOT LOOSE the bonus machines, I have to SIMPLY IGNORE the "Plan B" email and its link... or maybe I've to explicitly follow the link and "make a choice" like I WANT TO KEEP MY BONUSES, AS IT SHOULD BE...?

Thank you so much in advance! Smiley

Cheers!
-akw-

That's interesting...I'd venture a guess they'll send Mini's with 3 chips, Which does the following:

Mini Neptune @ $3500 - 3 chips - $1166/chip
Neptune Batch 3 @ $6000 - 5 chips - $1200/chip

So much for bulk discounts.

Batch 1 customers have paid nearly 2400 per chip, with closer to 1200 per chip with the two for one.
Batch 2 customers have paid nearly 2000 or more per chip, but with two for one, that drops to a more palatable 1000 per chip.

It pays to be second?!

Goal:

3 TH/s Neptune by June 31st (Q2)

CA Batch was stated as Q1/Q2 and batch 1 stated as Q2 1 month after CA batch, so no they did not reach their goals. Also there was never any intention or even slightest possibility of them delivering CA batch in Q1, intentionally lying about products is in my world called fraud.

Honestly, after dealing with Hashfast, I'm just pleased to see an ASIC manufacturer actually shipping products.  Hashfast's phone is now disconnected and I have to use their bankruptcy attorney to recover anything...and who knows how long till that happens.  At least KNC is delivering operational miners.  KNC has been right on schedule as far as their updates...this is bleeding edge nanotechnology, some delays should be expected.

Some of their practices are a little questionable, but I'll take a questionable practice with a working product over vaporware all day!

For some reason the error "Failed to setwork" is suddenly disappeared... and now it all looks normal:

So this pic would have to be all 5 boxes hooked up and running then, right?
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 20, 2014, 07:06:27 PM
I should review your previous posts took longer than saying,

Yes, you really should have.

All is working and running now for nearly 4 hours un interrupted: 15 minutes average is 3.3 Ths.  Pool is telling the same.
Considering that it can only become better forward, it's OK.

I did, and I was still confused...sue me.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 20, 2014, 07:02:58 PM
Seriously Elenelen, writing that I should review your previous posts took longer than saying,
5 cubes with two d.o.a.

Does that mean if you had all 5 cubes operational we'd be looking at closer to 5.5 THs?  Perhaps
beyond three we'll have to split them onto another controller or different PSU, but this seems like
great news.  That turns a 3 THs order into 10Ths+ total upon delivery of second set?!

And that's assuming no overclocking?  With overclocking of each cube might even get 11-12 THs?!

Nevermind...though 6THs with room for overclocking ain't bad. (3THs x 2units once delivered)

I'm confused, is that three boxes for one Neptune or three Neptunes pictured?  Running three off one 1600W PSU would be much better than original estimates...though you'd probably still want to separate them for overclocking.
