181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KYCs (Know your Client) is killing crypto on: March 06, 2018, 07:14:17 PM
When I was starting to get involved in crypto-currency, one of its features that attracts me is the privacy it gives you. Now with all those KYC being required in exchanges and in ICOs and other platforms, some people are beginning to be hesitant in their activities in crypto.

with this information you have provided i think decentralized exchanges will soon grow which includes the tokens that are listed there, since ethereum and most erc20 tokens can be made available on a decentralized exchange its best to invest in some of these...and if KYC is what you want to avoid wait for the tokens to hit an exchange and you will get them minus KYC requirements but you will pay more for the coins Roll Eyes
182  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Las Vegas Strippers Accept Bitcoin via QR Tattoos on: March 06, 2018, 03:05:09 PM
https://news.bitcoin.com/las-vegas-strippers-accept-bitcoin-via-qr-tattoos/

A Las Vegas news show has featured a segment on an adult entertainment venue in the city which enables its dancers to get payments from clients directly via bitcoin transfers.

Well I guess these developments had to happen. I just hope the tattoo is accurate. Smiley

Hope the QR will maintain it's shape  Grin
I think these are one of the problems the Strippers will have to face but qr codes could be printed on their clothing too as a temporay solution to this, hope cashing out will not be a problem for them.
183  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What Problems do new investors face when researching cryptocurrencies? on: March 06, 2018, 09:00:41 AM
We all know there is a wealth of information on the internet about cryptocurrencies, but how much of it is actually helpful? How can you trust the person you are receiving information from?
As far as I know the information thats available on the internet is there to guide us and help us do more research about related projects, I dont think its an issue of trusting a stranger...if it is thats where due deligence needs to be applied.

And is all the spread of FUD making you even rethink any of your investments?
FUD just like Fake news needs one to authenticate the sources, you cant believe everything you read online thats why i believe we have the responsibility to do more research in whichever crypto project we want to invest in.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 05, 2018, 08:35:59 PM
Crystal Palace have taken the lead against Manchester United courtesy of a deflected goal scored by Townsend and at the moment they seem to be in control of the game though I think it’s still early to decide who will win the game.
Of the two teams I think Crystal Palace has had a better first half and if Manchester does not find an equalizer Crystal Palace will break their losing streak in front of its fans and renew the win over Utd thats held since 1991. Lets see what mou will do after the first half Undecided
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to mine or buy Bitcoin? on: March 05, 2018, 06:26:35 PM

i think Bitcoin is only profitable if done at large scales. you must get expensive mining equipment and of course it consumes a lot of electricity monthly. Also it’s usually much more cost effective to buy Bitcoins with this money instead of using it to buy mining equipment.

Mining on a small scale is not profitable and with the increase of bitcoins mining difficult its better left to commericial miners, and as far as I know to be a miner you need to invest a lot of money to acquire good mining equipment to match up with the difficulty which is costy to run, so I think its better to buy your bitcoin than mine them.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite way to cash out? on: March 04, 2018, 06:44:56 PM
Hi everyone,

I am wondering what's your favorite way to cash out from crypto world? I'd like to know your experience and which platform you prefer.  Smiley
I use to use crypto to visa exchanges but not anymore as some of my cards are not functional for now but my favourite way of cashing out is through a local dealer which in my opinion is more safer but only disadvantage is markup is a little high for local dealers, sometimes I often exchange my cryptos for gift cards when a friend wants something bought for them.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🌟🚀[BOUNTY][ICO]ATLANT REAL ESTATE PLATFORM[OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN]🚀🌟🌟 on: March 03, 2018, 11:56:46 PM
18 months may be OK as long as the team provides extra coins for helping them in holding our earned coins. Let's say provide 10% extra each month as if they were staking, then it will be a win-win situation and fair for everyone! because by waiting for an extra long time! we are helping the team to add value to the coin. Then you have happy supporters! and we can still be supporting you in the future if you still fair with us!
Totally agree the payment style is staking and projects like minexcoin pay good interests for it and can be doubled for the proposed duration they have proposed to use, but am just wondering if atlant put it into consideration how long everyone one of us had to wait for this distribution process and have they considered the security aspect and human error which can lead to people losing or forgetting their private keys...18 months is way too long!
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices are rising. on: March 03, 2018, 10:08:54 AM
I see bitcoin prices have recovered and have been traveling up, this is a good sign for us that hold bitcoin, what do you do, still survive to wait or sell and wait for the price to go down?
I think all this is as a result of good and favourable regulations that are encouraging the use of cryptocurrrencies unlike what lead to the crash when regulations became a hot topic and resulted in people pulling out of the crypto market, now it seems people are ready to get back into the crypto market which can be seen from the currenct bitcoin and altcoin prices
189  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Struggling bitcoin will double by midyear on: March 03, 2018, 09:50:07 AM
Month of March has started off well and I expect value to continue rising as we are now done with all festive celebrations which tend to affect the market a lot.

As for bitcoin to double by midyear very possible as cryptos are sometimes are predictable but i would like to see a new all time high around this time.

191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: March 02, 2018, 10:35:20 PM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
I think the way the crypto market is at the moment is more like a democracy, the crypto coin we get to like the most as the possibility of getting overall support is getting pumped which might put it in a position to surpass bitcoin in terms of market capitalization...but bitcoin becoming obsolete is not happening it will remain another cryptocoin to use as a store of value or stock.
192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How important are ICO advisors? on: March 02, 2018, 09:02:32 AM
Advisors just give the ICO a good image especially if they are well known and it actually does help raise the needed capital faster

but on an invistors point of view I think this means nothing especiallly if they are not know to them because they advisors arent taking the risk as investors entrusting their money with the ICO.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is HODLINg still valid to make profits on: March 01, 2018, 06:11:12 PM
This recipee could be a thing of the past. Nowdays it may be better to look for opportunities as lots of talent is going into the market. Do you still think of becoming a millionaire by hodling?
I think hodling is still a good way to make profits as I see the market as not reached its full potential as only a few people know of cryptocurrencies.

Given more time, say another 5 years from now am sure the market would have grown and demand for cryptos would have grown.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: How do I choose the company's bounty on: March 01, 2018, 02:14:57 PM
1. Look at the advisors some are well know around the crypto world
2. look at how well the communicate with bounty participants.
3. Project has to stand out as well to give the ICO a chance of success.

How to find out who is the bounty manager ?
I doubt that bounty topic creator = bounty manager.
You are right its not usually the case which is why copper membership was introduced to give devs the ability to post annocements with pics without the need of asking a higher ranked member to post on their behalf just for this purpose and not bounty magement.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: March 01, 2018, 08:49:59 AM
Does any one thinks that Ethereum can survive with the rising of Waves? I've heard that "Waves will be the next Ethereum"
Waves at one point did start off well but with the increase of token sales which has most of these ICO tokens based on eth (ERC20, etc) this has helped ethereum become more popular. One thing I like about waves is its decentralized exchange but never the less eth still has plently of decentralized exchanges to support it.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do transactions usually take? on: February 28, 2018, 06:17:47 PM
Give or take, how long do you wait to receive your coins?
For btc Depending on the tx fees set i would say not more than an hour, on average its takes 15-30 minutes then for coins like Ethereum anywhere between 30 seconds to 3 minutes depending on on how congested the network is.

At what point do you start to become suspicious?
I get worried about such transactions not suspicious but its being long since I experienced long hours/ days of waiting when using btc, for other alts after an hour I without receiving the coins I get worried.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you know its time to sell your altcoins? on: February 27, 2018, 10:10:52 PM
IMO only sell when you are in need of some fiat to use in real life if you have no use HODL, using indicators to tell you when to sell would not be a great idea as FUD could make one sell as they could want to salvage some money from their altcoins.

but one thing I tell you is if there is a crash and people are panic selling thats the best time to buy, the market has shown this formula to work several times!
198  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have we seen the last of Bitcoin Cash? on: February 27, 2018, 09:39:49 PM
There have been two major flippening attempts, where BCH supporters tried to overthrow BTC.  Both attempts have failed, but BCH gained a lot in terms of market cap.  During those events, when BTC transactions were ridiculously slow and expensive, I watched a lot of people on Twitter jump ship and join the BCH camp.  It makes me wonder if a future flippening is possible.

BCH has been quiet lately.  Do you think we've seen the last of it? Have the BCH supporters given up for good, or are they gearing up to attack again?
You have given a nice break down of why bitcoin cash had its glory days but with BTC now having very reasonable fees and transactions are much faster I honestly dont see any use of bitcoin cash, if anything this crypto is delaying BTC(s) growth as first time buyers tend to be confused with which bitcoin is authentic and go for the cheaper bitcoin which might not be what they wanted.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can crypto help citizens with weak national currencies on: February 25, 2018, 10:30:12 PM
In countries with failing economic systems, is common to find weak national currencies whose value has been significantly depreciated. This “weakness” may include a high rate of inflation, deficits, exaggerated level of imports, and everything that comes with a poor socio-economical situation for a country. Statistics show that citizens of countries with failing currencies in every part of the globe are turning to crypto for investment and wealth protection as they want to diversify from their home fiat currency. As they face financial crisis, they’re constantly searching for a better store of value.

While consumers access to cryptocurrencies is broadening rapidly, so is the market for crypto projects.

Do you think crypto is a viable solution for these complicated countries... or it may make it worse long-term?
I think cryptos can help fix a countries economy as is the case with venezuela who have opted to use their own national currency that will be pegged to the oil prices and I think this is a good project to see if cryptos do actually work, and AFAIK cryptos being a store of value does help individuals to protect their hard earned money.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Hunters: What makes a good bounty program? on: February 25, 2018, 07:47:29 PM
In your mind, what makes a good bounty program better than another?  Payouts, process, etc...
1. For me the first thing  I now consider is the reputation of a campaign manger or bounty team.
2. I think the number of participants does define a good bounty campaign.
3. Well written rules is also important as I have seen some campaigns change rules after ICO is completed.
