Curious, has David LaTapie's relationship with Monero changed at all recently?

he's still listed on https://getmonero.org/knowledge-base/people and iirc someone (fluffy?) mentioned a couple of days/weeks ago, that he's busy with some other stuff atm.

Wenn Du in das Bitcoin Business einsteigen willst, dann auf keinen Fall in DE.
Meines Wissens nach, gibt es in DE keine Bitcoin Firma.
Da geht man besser ins benachbarte Ausland.

I tend to avoid anything with ROI under a year, 99% of those are scams.

I keep seeing people talk about how long "ROI" takes. What does that mean?

If you invest in something and get a profit of even 0.00001% per day, isn't that still a return? Aren't you making a return on your investment from day 1?

I understand if you're buying something, like a mining contact say, which takes 100 days to pay you the amount you paid for it. Then you're running at a loss for the first 100 days, and at a profit after that. But isn't that a special case? If I buy Apple shares, I'm investing in Apple. Does it make sense to talk about "how long for ROI"? If the shares go up the next day, I've made a return immediately, haven't I? It's the same with Just-Dice, and as far as I know all other dice sites with crowd sourced bankrolls. You can invest and divest at will, with no fee, so you can "ROI" in 5 seconds if you're lucky.

I think people are still confusing "break-even" and "ROI" on a regular basis. if they're asking for "how long to ROI?" they really mean breaking even with their initial investment  or 100 % ROI.

though it would be nice, if they could prove the almost 900 btc max jackpot announced on their site  Wink

It's probably something like 100 jackpots of 9 BTC each, like that other old-style casino that was advertising 60k jackpots. The advertised amount is the total of all the jackpots, not an actual amount they have available to win.

yep, that's what I expect too.

maybe it is time that we as a crypto gambling community start to engrave our shared visions of industry-wide minimum standards into stone to help new operators set up their business with those requirements.

at least I feel like almost everyone who has been in crpyto gambling for a while would appreciate stuff like signed cold wallets, verifiable provably fair methods etc.

A Crypto Gaming Commission Cheesy

no, nothing lawskyesque  Grin

I was thinking more of a guideline that helps new operators from getting ripped apart in here at first sight while still benefiting players

I was more thinking along the lines where Doog was headed Cheesy.

me too Wink isnt that what lawsky is doing? setting up the licensing rules and then found a company that helps opertors in applying for that license( for money ofc)

Now, I do not want to be lynched here as you are well respected on this forum but one could say you do the same provably fair or not: prey on kids. Maybe that's why in my case you decided to not side with the player?

I'm not siding with the casino. I think the guy who is speaking for them is either badly misinformed or deliberately deceptive. But I don't think it's fair to jump from that to "any therefore he's a scammer". For some reason he is unwilling or unable to understand how the idea of provable fairness could help his business, and that is concerning.

It's like the difference between a casino saying:

"we have 1000 BTC put aside to pay out jackpots - look, here's the address, here's a signature proving we control that address"

and a casino saying:

"we have 1000 BTC put aside to pay out jackpots - we don't want to show you where, but look, here's a certificate saying we have it"

Which one would you rather play at?

Does 4grinz publish their cold storage address by the way? I don't think anyone asked about that yet.

no published cold wallet yet, afaik. but so far I didn't bother them with that additional topic, since theyre not taking investments.

192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 23, 2015, 05:31:30 AM
The first tendrils of a Monero based economy need to start now.  We need to have ideas for Monero only goods and services, and start offering things only for Monero.

I acquired my original bitcoin position (ages ago) by selling silver (i miss bitmit). I would be happy to do the same thing for monero if there is any interest.

moneroinvest.com  maybe? but I don't think anyone has had any experience with them yet.

hm. are you guys related to dadice or the dead marketing "company" mixedideaz in any way?

Hi There shitaifan2013

No we are not related.

thanks for your fast repsone.

but since you didn't really answer the question of tsoPANos, what's your house edge?

You are right i missed that, we have a low edge less than 2%. Smiley

Less than 2 but greater than? There are a few sites just like this one.  I missed the provably fair verification too do u have a link?

HI Altcoin4life !

So yeah it's below 2% it does range between 1% and 2% staying for the most part under 1.5% depending on the game, for a complete breakdown by game you can go here http://wizardofodds.com/gambling/house-edge/ and as far as provably fair goes there are providers are internationally recognized for using best practice programs to regulate fair play like GLI standards under which we abide. Smiley

so it's NOT provably fair. why not guys?  Undecided

bitcoin offers you such awesome ways of making your casino worthwhile for players. for 35 years of experience combined this is quite poor.

Sorry guys, was a DDoS attack, however I wasn't around and puma froze under load, will try to add some monitoring tool which can hard restart it if it doesnt answer within few seconds.
pheew i was starting to get worried about it as i have some coins deposited, i guess i will gamble it all and try my luck as you fixed the website, lets hope i will win some nice money

We are incorporated casino, we can't just dissapear like some other sites.

why not? you're only incorporated in costa rica via an agent. I don't understand how that would stop you from anything potentially malicious?

isn't the incorporation more about protecting you as an operator, since you don't have to take personal liabilities in case something goes wrong?

please don't get me wrong, I'm NOT implying that that you're up to something bad.

Not quite right. Of course book of ownership is closed and you can't find the beneficiary easily. However in case you go to court Costa Rica authorities will order to disclose owners from agent and he will provide all information about CEO who holds book of ownership with shareholders.

What I'm trying to say is you have a legal way to go to court, it wouldn't be easy, however now it's possible.

yes, but that wouldn't be of much use, since people could only put charges up against the incoporated company and not you as an individual and if the company isn't holding any funds due to an exit scam there is nothing to gain.

But I admit, I'm not a pro concerning costa rican offshore gambling incorporations. Smiley

maybe just stop the "petty low level giveaway"s on btct, all they create is drama and spam comparable to signature campaigns...
199  Economy / Gambling / Re: SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero Dice ★ Low 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Fair on: July 21, 2015, 05:14:00 PM
lol i actually play anon for security reasons now. The second or third player on the monthly profit is also me. Player xxxx who plays deathingale style is me usually.

Love the simplicity of your site guys.

Now you are not secure anymore because you have tell what your alt account is. How is that using new account is for security?because people can always see your name in the leaderboard if you win so if you want security you have to change account before you win big or it will show in the leaderboard

I think there is no problem using multiple accounts as long as you dont reffer yourself and revealing his alts isnt really a problem, he can create new account and no one will know about it already.

hehe, nice mojojojo Smiley

btw Hexcoin is right, having multiple accounts is fine and no problem at all.

Hey guys, please read carefully. I dont say he is not allow to create multiple account. Look at what he write, he use multiple account for security reason . I think he mean that he dont want people to know the account name or know that is him but he get into the leaderboard always so I asked him how is that using another account for security reason

yes, you're right of course on that. I was only answering to hexcoins part, but didn't delete the full-quote  Wink
